I was surprised when my account was sigbanned a few days ago. Because I was so busy with work that I didn’t have time to file an appeal that same day or the next, I’m only now able to post my appeal. To be honest, I’m still confused about the reason for the sigban I received because I never received a warning about any mistake I might have made that led to it.

I’ve been trying to figure out a few things: whether it was because I posted in a gambling discussion about soccer that I got the sigban, or whether the quality of my posts was subjectively deemed low. Yet I made posts that were relevant to what was being discussed in the thread in question. I realize that my English isn’t very good, so I have to translate from my local language into English, which sometimes results in sentences with incorrect grammar and improper punctuation.

There are a few points I’d like to make so that everyone can easily understand the substance of this appeal:

1. The posts I created were purely the result of my own ideas, written manually in my local language with its characteristic writing style and structure, which I then translated into English.

2. I did not engage in spamming, and my posts were created in response to normal interactions with other users.

I request that @nutildah review my post and Sigaban. I am willing to provide clarification or additional evidence if necessary.

I remember when I was a newbie, I did always check the LoyceV merit ranking for newbies, you always had the highest merits and followed by me. So I still remember the old days.

What actually later happened?

I went through your post history, the first pages were all gambling posts, also the second page were all gambling posts so I stop checking as the reason for the signban is clear.

Leo and other users that time always gave you merit like on this thread: Derivation Path

I can still remember another topic that you posted about signing transactions on Electrum cold storage with USB stick.

Your account have really changed.

But why will being active only on gambling board lead to signature ban, is that actually right?

His only posting on gambling board but his not posting badly or spamming on the board, posting only on gambling board should not lead to a signature ban except the member is spamming or posting rubbish on the gambling board or any board he decides to be active.

I think his account should be reviewed again and posting only on gambling board should not be used as a criteria for giving him a signature ban.

OP sorry for the ban, I hope your account gets reviewed.

If he was posting only on gambling board when he was a newbie, he will not be a legendary today. He will remain in less than full member rank in a way he will not be on any campaign today.

Why will people that are somewhat good in technical discussion earn merits and later changed hands by posting only on gambling boards?

If you treat activity on bitcointalk like a job, it's much easier to fill your post quota in the gambling section of the forum than in Technical Discussion and similar boards.  Tongue

Without going through his post history, maybe the screenshot below is one of the reasons he got sigbanned.

Here, I comment generally about posting quality and posting style change, not support or protest the appeal of blue snow.

What actually later happened?
Likely lack of motivation.
  • Spammers ranked up by farming, already results in many things: spam endemic in the forum, they got merit undeservedly and made it harder to other people to rank up - like merit sources and forum members will feel harder to send merit, they suspect about many things; lastly such beautiful merited accounts can easily be accepted in campaigns because they had more merit totally and in last 120 days while in quality they are shitposters and even worse than accounts with lower merits.

Think:
If we force spammers to rank up by posting good, we force them to have a good writing habit, and when they ranked up already, they will more likely post good, or at least better than spammers.

Quote
Your account have really changed.
Account has not changed, posting style has changed.

About how the signature ban has been enforced so far, from my observation, I see something
  • Local boards are exception while such places are root causes of merit farming that results in massive spamming in the forum, in English board.
  • Reputable members can post low quality posts but they're good to be not affected by signature bans. I won't point my fingers out to any specific members but it's what I saw.

I'm not gonna to comment more here related to my point of view, because it derails the topic of blue snow.

OP, good luck with your appeal.

Charles-Tim I understand your point, but right now the bone of contention is about the signature ban that was given to the OP and him posting on technical board before and later changing to gambling board was not the reason why he got a signature ban.

You said posting only on gambling board maybe the reason why he was given a signature ban and I asked you if it’s right that being active only on gambling board should lead to a signature ban.

Issues will easily be solved when we focus on the bone of contention.

And lastly everyone is free to be very active on a particular board and decide to switch to another board, it’s not against the forum rule. But I know that act is suspicious of the account changing hands, however except there’s evidence to that, we should focus only on the bone of contention.

Your posts where you are summarizing sports events look like they may have been written by an AI chatbot.

Not all of your posts are AI and you’re not a horrible writer, but you do make a lot of posts that are very generic and mundane. You have barely earned any merit in the last 120 days and what little you’ve gotten was for shilling a former merit source’s shitcoin.

If signature bans are about improving signal to noise, then honestly I don’t think it was a wrong choice in your case. There is definitely some improvement needed and based on what other users have said, you seem capable of writing significantly better quality posts.

I do remember you from years ago as being particularly active and interested in the forum, then when you became Legendary, you kind of gave up trying to write good posts and fell into the pattern shown by Rikafip.

This is an example of the type of post I think the forum could do without, and that posters shouldn't be getting paid for:

Fabregas’s contribution to Como has been extraordinary and truly deserves the highest praise. Even after the match against Leipzig, the president of Como went so far as to say that Fabregas is like Johan Cruyff, who once led Barcelona to greatness. I don’t think that’s an exaggeration, considering how hard Fabregas has worked to elevate Como from the lowest division to where they are now, on the big stage of the UEFA Champions League.

Now by itself, its not such a bad post. It offers a personal take on a soccer/football issue. It could be something you feel passionately about. The problem is the majority of your posts are just like this one... quick takes on football that nobody seems to be reading, except for others looking for an excuse to write similarly low-value responses.

Additionally, the regularity of your posting schedule makes it look like you're operating a content mill. What it comes down to is this type of posting behavior should be discouraged. I'm sorry but reversing your sigban would send the wrong signal to the community.

If you hadn't written this, I probably wouldn't have paid attention... but now that I have...

In the past few days, on the altt forum, for some reason, it occurred to me to investigate the connection between several accounts, in the sense that it is a farm account.
The same pattern appears with all accounts that are the subject of this investigation when they are online and when they write posts. The graph looks almost the same as the one above.
And yes, all accounts are from Indonesia local board.
I checked now, @blue Snow is also from the Indonesian local board  Undecided

I see members here judging OP regarding where he posts, when he posts, how much he posts, how his posts looks like?
What's going on with the forum? Are we in a jail or what? Could @theymos create a sub called sports discussion in the gambling board to talk freely and it is up to signature campaigns to pay there or not?
When someone says something about a team, his impression, give some injuries details or a prediction, it is judged as low quality, writing only in gambling is becoming a crime? We are now forced to leave that part of the forum to diversify our posts to satisfy who? I don't see any fix here, sometimes I feel the whole situation is an experiment conducted here and we are the rats.

The problem is that a large portion of these users don't even say that.

I've seen cases of users commenting on things weeks after they happened. Something like: "I really like club X, I think they're going to beat club Y" - We'll see, and that game already happened 2 weeks ago.

It's one thing for me to say that a club will have difficulty in the next game because player x is injured, and then explain why I think that.
Another is to repeatedly say that I think club X is the best, that it will win.

As for posting patterns, well, that's always very subjective. But when a person doesn't post mechanically, it's rare to have perfectly consistent patterns for weeks.

Jail? They can keep posting, just not to get paid. Surprisingly, 99% of them stop with this formula of grinding through 20-30 posts weekly where they push the keyboard buttons to talk about the most generic random stuff no one cares about (not even themselves).

Without going through his post history, maybe the screenshot below is one of the reasons he got sigbanned.

Where have I seen this graph?
I've seen almost the same graphs, in about 3 or 4 different users.

Are these guys robot or people?

If you hadn't written this, I probably wouldn't have paid attention... but now that I have...

In the past few days, on the altt forum, for some reason, it occurred to me to investigate the connection between several accounts, in the sense that it is a farm account.
The same pattern appears with all accounts that are the subject of this investigation when they are online and when they write posts. The graph looks almost the same as the one above.
And yes, all accounts are from Indonesia local board.
I checked now, @blue Snow is also from the Indonesian local board  Undecided

I don't know if joker_josue is just being ironic or doesn't remember what he wrote in another thread.

Unfortunately, something really doesn't add up with some of these accounts.
Are they humans or robots?

This is a snapshot of the posts made daily over the course of a year. You could say that any image could be applied to any of these users.
<...>

In that case they were guys from Turkey, so I don't think this is exclusive of a country. I believe, rather, that the patterns reveal a mechanical, repetitive style of writing, where the writer simply writes to collect their weekly pay, in much the same way as a worker in an assembly factory a century ago would spend eight hours tightening screws in exactly the same way.

I was caught.  Roll Eyes Cheesy

Unfortunately, that's the reality. This is not synonymous with being natural, but rather mechanical.

But, so people don't think I only gave examples of people who had the sigban or who aren't very frequent in the betting section, here are some other examples:

@Trofo, who in the last year made over 1200 posts about gambling and only about 200-300 outside of those sections.
https://bitlist.co/user/id/1099980?date_min=2025-09-20&date_max=2026-09-19&bucket=day

@cryptofrka who in the last year made more than 1700 posts on gambling and less than 300 outside of those sections.
https://bitlist.co/user/id/1862043?date_min=2025-09-20&date_max=2026-09-19

Can you see the difference in the graphs? These are just two examples, but if I search I'll find more.
I'm not even talking about the number of posts, but rather the dynamics of the activity.

How many, and look at these graphs, it's hard to say that you're making posts mechanically.

Are these guys robot or people?
You tell me.  Tongue

But seriously, writing the exact same number of posts on each specific day of the week and keeping that up for months? Like, does it never happen that on some days you simply don't find any posts (or maybe only 1-2) worth replying to, or that on other days you feel extra inspired and write 10 posts instead of your usual 4–5? It's just not normal behavior, and the only explanation I can think of is that you see forum activity as a job/chore and not much else.

I see members here judging OP regarding where he posts, when he posts, how much he posts, how his posts looks like?

Wait, we're not allowed too? Much freedom of speech!

What's going on with the forum?

Such mystery!

Are we in a jail or what?

Wow comparison!
Btw, you know that from a jail you can't get out, people are not kept here unwillingly. Also, on most forums out there, spamming with nonsense is a ban, and that's it!

Could @theymos create a sub called sports discussion in the gambling board to talk freely

What is stopping you from talking about football in the gambling section?

But seriously, writing the exact same number of posts on each specific day of the week and keeping that up for months?

The exact same number of posts with nearly the same character count on the same topics that is. Wink
Those Xerox posters should be banned permanently, not just sig banned.

Jail? They can keep posting, just not to get paid. Surprisingly, 99% of them stop with this formula of grinding through 20-30 posts weekly where they push the keyboard buttons to talk about the most generic random stuff no one cares about (not even themselves).

When a big wave approach from the east side of an island, some people will desert the area and continue their party in the west side while others will hide in a secure place until the wave passes. Meanwhile, he will send his puppet to bring him food and stuff.
In other words, adaptation and survival. You feel the situation is fixed but it is far from being. The problem is clear and the solution is easy but we are doing it the wrong wayS from years.

@stompix: what's stopping me? I already answered that several times. Don't read my posts superficially. When I say something, I send messages between the lines. The other quotes don't worth to respond to them with my respect. I know you long time ago, don't take a side blindly to join the fake temporarily elite.

You can try once more, after all, what are you going to do around here?
This was supposed to be a discussion forum, not go search my previous post forum

I know you long time ago, don't take a side blindly to join the fake temporarily elite.

Oh no....please tell me I didn't join the reptilian brotherhood! Is this the reason my ass is itching?
