We’ve been running a crypto casino, iGambler.io, focused mainly on the Middle East for around 4 years.

Our situation is a little unusual. Historically, we’ve been heavily dependent on whales and VIP players and have barely built what you would call a normal base of everyday casino players. Our average deposit has been around $1,200.

We were also, to our knowledge, among the first casinos to introduce an online junket-style model focused on high-value players rather than mass-market acquisition. It worked well financially, but it also left us with a very concentrated player base.

Over the last few months, we tried changing that. We spent heavily on advertising with the goal of building a larger base of regular daily players. The results were disappointing: a lot of ad spend with very little worth mentioning, and we also lost our Instagram account in the process.

Someone recommended Bitcointalk as a better place to understand how actual crypto casino players discover and choose casinos, so we thought we’d ask directly.

How do you normally discover a new crypto casino?

What would actually make you try a casino you haven’t played at before instead of staying with the one you already use?

And for people who mainly play at land-based casinos: what would make you choose an online crypto casino for the first time?

After 4 profitable years, attracting high-value players has ironically been easier for us than building a consistent base of normal daily players. That’s the problem we’re trying to understand.

Well, a lot of red flags with this post and your casino..

  • Your domain has no history in organic search and no mentions from any of the big casino review sites.
  • Found 1 X account that has 0 followers and no activity.
  • Semrush and Ahrefs (traffic analytics) shows 0 traffic for igambler.io.
  • Footer shows a Curacao license image (which is image of the old regulator that does not excist anymore).
  • Footer shows a text and image for "Costa Rica Gaming Jurisdiction" - there is no such regulator, as Costa Rica is a unregulated market with no regulatory body.
  • Webarchive shows for 2025 and 2024 that your homepage is broken, and no functional casino were operating during that time period.

Don't try to fool anyone here, this is clearly another scam casino.

Fair questions, but the conclusion that we are a “scam casino” is simply not supported by those points.

First, the casino was never down or non-operational during 2024 or 2025. We have consistently used mirror domains sharing the same backend, so an incomplete or broken Web Archive snapshot of one domain does not establish that the casino itself was not operating and even this info itself is wrong the main domain was never incomplete or broken maybe you are talking about the 1 month we changed platform but and the site went down for less than 24h.

Second, we never relied on organic Google traffic. Our target market has primarily been the Middle East, and our acquisition historically came through paid advertising, direct referrals and word of mouth. So the lack of an SEO footprint on Semrush/Ahrefs is neither surprising nor something we are trying to hide. and this is exactly what we are talking about and asking about in here so we get to undrestand

Regarding licensing: when we started, we operated under a Curaçao-licensed white-label provider. Later, we changed the corporate structure and moved the operation to a Costa Rican company. We are happy to clarify the exact corporate/legal structure rather than pretending that Costa Rica has a gambling regulator equivalent to Curaçao.

Most importantly, during all these years of operation, we have never refused a legitimate player payout or intentionally delayed one. Our business was built around high-value players, where reputation and honoring withdrawals are fundamental.

Criticizing our SEO presence, social media activity, footer wording or regulatory presentation is completely fair. We can address those points.

But going from “I couldn't verify much through Google/Ahrefs/Web Archive” to “clearly another scam casino” is a serious accusation that requires substantially more evidence.

We came here precisely because our historical acquisition model was very different from the normal mass-market crypto casino, and we want to understand this community better. Legitimate questions and criticism are welcome.

How do you normally discover a new crypto casino?
Only through bitcontalk and as suggested by other reputable/trusted users. I would avoid any other form of promotion or platform. If a site doesn't have a place here, it's like a site that doesn't exist.

...
What would actually make you try a casino you haven’t played at before instead of staying with the one you already use?
Promotions? New games? Better odds? Some advantages... the market is already overcrowded and lately there are new casinos popping weekly.

...
And for people who mainly play at land-based casinos: what would make you choose an online crypto casino for the first time?
I pass for this. Personally I think there is a totally different approach and different kinds of users.
I see often people in Metro in Rome using quick slots or similar games on their smartphone. I am not expecting they would ever go in a land based casinos or viceversa ...

How do you normally discover a new crypto casino?
I am not a crypto casino player, and I have only ever visited casino websites through links from a single source. That source is Bitcointalk. I see crypto casino advertisements everywhere, but they never prompt me to visit a site. However, stories like the one you shared do. I was genuinely interested in a casino that has gone through such an unusual journey.
Could you please, to back up your words, provide examples of a few domains you operated on in 2024–2025?

I hope im replying to the right comment, as im new to here and not really good with technology but this reply is for you Bitbollo,

First of all thanks, this is actually exactly the kind of answer we came here looking for.

Your first point is particularly interesting to us. We never really considered Bitcointalk as an acquisition or trust channel before. Our business developed very differently from the typical crypto casino.

We didn't start as a “crypto casino” built around crypto hype, SEO, influencers and mass acquisition. Our model has always been much closer to the traditional bookie/junket model: relationships, referrals, VIPs and a relatively small number of high-value players, mainly from the Middle East. Crypto was added because it was the most practical payment solution for our markets, not because we were trying to position ourselves as another trendy crypto brand.

That model worked financially, but it created the exact problem we're facing now: we became good at serving a small number of serious players without ever building a large community of normal everyday crypto casino users.

Your point about switching casinos also makes sense. “Another casino” isn't a reason to switch when there are already hundreds of options. Historically our differentiation has been our VIP/junket approach, personalized treatment and the relationship we build with players, rather than simply competing on another generic deposit bonus.

And your last point about land-based vs online players is interesting as well. We may have been assuming there is more overlap between those groups than actually exists.

Thanks for the perspective.

Someone recommended Bitcointalk as a better place to understand how actual crypto casino players discover and choose casinos, so we thought we’d ask directly.

Thanks, and yes, I’ll gladly have a conversation with you and share whatever I reasonably can.

Just to clarify the domain point: iGambler.io was our main domain and the casino itself was operating throughout that period. We also had iGambler.games, which was our bookie/sportsbook-facing site and remained active until we shut it down a couple of months ago.

We also used other mirror domains at different points, all connected to the same operation/backend.

I'm genuinely not sure what exactly the other poster saw in the Web Archive that led to the conclusion that the casino wasn't operating in 2024–2025. The site was never “closed” during that period.

I'm happy to discuss our history, business model and some of the unusual things we've experienced over the years. Obviously there are player-specific and commercially sensitive details I can't share publicly, but anything I reasonably can share, I will.

First of all you use betby system, every new bookmaker use that system, you are not any special in the market.

After that you have to build trust, most people here like a no kyc casino, however if you are licensed like you are that is probably not an option.

You're right that BETBY itself doesn't make us special. We had our own bookie operation before it and still use the traditional personal bookie approach with some sportsbook clients. BETBY was added around a year ago simply to offer the more “modern” sportsbook experience.

But your trust point is exactly what we're trying to understand: trust with whom, and how do you build it with crypto native players?

Our high value Middle Eastern players usually came through personal relationships, referrals or junket advertising. Interestingly, serious players often provided KYC themselves from the beginning because that's normal to them from land based casinos.

So when you say people here prefer no KYC casinos, how are those casinos actually reaching these players? Where do you see successful no KYC casinos advertising or building that trust and what type of players actually come for no KYC?

What is the mirror domains that was used?

If you had any traffic on your site, that would have been reflected in both Semrush and Ahrefs either if it's by organic or paid ads, but it shows yet 0, so save me for this BS please.

You mention "we changed the corporate structure and moved the operation to a Costa Rican company", but I cannot see any info about this legal entity on your website anywhere?

Why is there still a license image in the footer for Gaming Curacao? They ceased the operations in 2024.. gaming-curacao.com

Honestly, I'm not sure why Semrush/Ahrefs show 0, because the actual traffic obviously wasn't zero. We have years of registrations, deposits and player activity.

On the company information and old Gaming Curaçao image, those are fair points. If you hadn't pointed out that image, we probably wouldn't even have noticed it was still there. That's something we need to improve and fix.

We're simply not a young operation built around the modern crypto-casino model. In many ways we're still very old-school: phone calls, direct contact with clients and leads, personal relationships, hosts and the traditional bookie/junket approach that happened to be online as we operated as junkets in the real world before.

That may explain why parts of our online footprint look unusual or outdated to you, but it doesn't mean we're scammers. Whatever criticism you have about our website or presentation is fair game, but one thing we've always taken seriously is players' money. We have always honored payouts, and we always will.

Actually, I'd be interested in having a proper chat with you about what else you find when looking at us from the outside. If there are other things online that look outdated, unclear or raise questions, we'd genuinely like to know.

Over the last couple of months we've been trying to shift some of our focus beyond the old relationship-driven model and attract a broader base of online players, and those attempts haven't performed well. It's entirely possible that things we're overlooking in our public presence are contributing to that.

I actually appreciate you pointing these things out. It helps us see that difference much more clearly. We simply come from a very different world than the newer hype driven crypto casinos, traditional Middle Eastern bookmaking and junkets were built on personal relationships, phone calls, agents and trust first, with the online footprint coming a distant second. Especially among the 30+ 40+ clients.

Hopefully this makes the picture a little clearer from our side.

The 1st thing you need to realize here is this place is not full of idiots waiting to dump money into just any operation that presents itsself here. People check everything and will call you out in a heartbeat if you are falsifying public information that can be easily searched. Best to just be honest and not give a backstory if it isn't true.

As far as this space goes, if you are a legit business and have somewhat of a bankroll to do some advertising with, there are plenty of gamblers who might decide to give you a chance. Just remember what I wrote a minute ago though, don't try to bs the users. It will not go well.

That's literally why we're here asking questions rather than coming in with an advertising campaign. We're interested in understanding how this community evaluates casinos and what we're missing.

This also hasn't historically been our target market or audience, so there's a learning curve on our side. We're happy for people to check, question and challenge what they see
Thanks!

If only players can withdraw from your casino without any stories or delay after winning big or small then you can count on it to help further establish your casino here. This is one of the major things players want to know about as nobody wants to see their withdrawal being delayed for no tangible reasons. If you can accept deposit without any delay then withdrawal should be fast without any stories.

Bonuses is also a factor that contributes significantly as members always check out for it but if you must give bonus, then the conditions should not be that stiff or too strict that it would need one to bend before they can get it otherwise nobody would reason your casino till you relax your stringent policy for bonus offer.

How do you normally discover a new crypto casino?
Before I joined the forum it is use to be through recommendation by fellow gamblers I know. But with now in this forum I base my selection of casinos only from this forum, since I can make complains here in their ANN thread or reputation board and have it attended to.

What would actually make you try a casino you haven’t played at before instead of staying with the one you already use?

And for people who mainly play at land-based casinos: what would make you choose an online crypto casino for the first time?
How they are genuinely rated by other real gamblers. A fast payout and deposit process with a friendly max and min withdrawal/deposit limit. Relatively clear terms of policy. An active customer service response team. These are most important things that can attract me to new casino.

Let's assume you are successfully running a casino as you said focusing on the high valued played and as said average deposit is $1,200 or whatever it is. But how about sharing other stats too like how many deposits you received and total wagered and what kind of betting, and is it is regulated? Because middle east is kind of against the gambling to the best of my knowledge.

Honestly, I'm not sure why Semrush/Ahrefs show 0, because the actual traffic obviously wasn't zero. We have years of registrations, deposits and player activity.
It shows 0 because there hasn't been any traffic.

On the company information and old Gaming Curaçao image, those are fair points. If you hadn't pointed out that image, we probably wouldn't even have noticed it was still there. That's something we need to improve and fix.
You did not provide any legal entity for the Costa Rican company you claimed to have?

And it only took you what, 2 years to be aware you have a self-hosted license badge image from Gaming Curacao which ceased operations in 2024..? And yet it is still not removed Shocked

Which means you have operated illegally for the past 2 years, but also misleading the people you have "advertised" to, that you are licensed, but in matter of fact you have never been.

I think at this point you've already decided what conclusion you want to reach, so I'm not going to keep trying to convince you otherwise.

No, we're not going to publish our Costa Rican company name here simply because you demand it. Our operation has always existed in regulatory grey areas, particularly given the markets we've historically served, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise.

Regarding the traffic: if your third-party tool says literally zero, then its data about us is wrong. That's really all there is to say about it. You can question the amount or source of traffic, but a casino cannot process years of registrations, deposits and gameplay with zero visitors.

The outdated Gaming Curaçao badge is a legitimate criticism and we've already acknowledged it. Turning that mistake into “therefore you operated illegally for two years” is your conclusion, not something you've established simply by finding an outdated image in a footer.

I understand your POV now, you're trying to defend the conclusion you've already reached and prove your story about us. But I'm sorry to tell you, not every casino without hype, SEO traffic and a huge public footprint is a scam. In my experience, some of the most honest operations I've encountered were the old school bookies and junkets that survived on relationships and reputation, because if they didn't honor their word and their payouts, they didn't have a business.

We're here voluntarily answering questions, including uncomfortable ones. We know how we've operated and how we've treated our players. You're completely welcome to remain skeptical, but skepticism and proof of fraud are two very different things.

Let's assume you are successfully running a casino as you said focusing on the high valued played and as said average deposit is $1,200 or whatever it is. But how about sharing other stats too like how many deposits you received and total wagered and what kind of betting, and is it is regulated? Fair questions.

Number of deposits and total amount wagered are not figures we're going to publish publicly. Those are internal financial/operational numbers, and I don't think many private operators would open their books on a forum.

What I can share is the scale of some individual activity. During our traditional bookie days, we handled sports bets that crossed the $1 million mark. I'm actually happy to share one of the largest sports bets we've handled, with anything identifying the client removed.

Historically our volume was extremely concentrated: relatively few players compared with mass market casinos, but some very high-value activity. Live casino, particularly roulette and baccarat, and sportsbook were major parts of the business. Slots became more of a focus later.

Regarding regulation, you're correct that gambling is prohibited or heavily restricted across much of the Middle East. Our operation is offshore; we're not claiming to hold local gambling licences in those countries.

But restricted gambling laws and absence of gambling demand are two completely different things. Looking at your Stake avatar, I suspect you already understand that distinction pretty well. 🙂

Thanks, that's helpful.

Just curious about your own behavior as a player: do you normally move between different casinos, or once you find one you're comfortable with, do you tend to stick with it?

And what usually makes you try another one? Just curiosity, a recommendation, different games, or sometimes simply having a bad run and wanting to play somewhere else?

Thank you for the feedback, really appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective.

If you gonna gain trust here you need to be transparent, with this comment it sounds more like you don't have a Costa Rica legal entity at all. If you have, post it here or in the footer on the site so the community can check it up Smiley

Still not removed as I can see. And yes its a matter of fact, as you don't have a legal company entity info on the site or a valid license to operate legally.

The fact that we haven't published the company name here doesn't mean the company doesn't exist. Given the markets we've historically operated in and the old-school bookie/junket nature of the business, publicly exposing every operational detail was simply never how we operated.

That said, your point about whether we should now make more of that information public is fair, and it's something we'll discuss internally.

Also, I think there's still a misunderstanding about why we're here. We discovered this forum literally yesterday. We didn't even know casinos were actively promoting themselves and maintaining threads here. We came here to research, ask players questions and understand a part of the gambling market we haven't historically dealt with.

We're not here to turn this into an advertising thread, and this community still isn't our target market. So we're not asking anyone here to deposit based on our word.

Now let me ask you directly: do you consider an offshore licence, including a Curaçao licence, proof that an operator will always honor withdrawals?

Can we agree on one basic reality of offshore gambling? If an operator wants to give a player a hard time over a withdrawal, they can, through reviews, KYC, terms disputes, investigations and so on. And if an operator genuinely wants withdrawals to be smooth and straightforward, they can build their operation around doing exactly that.

I'm not saying licensing has no value. It does. I'm asking whether an offshore licence alone proves how a casino will behave when a player wins $50k, $100k or more and asks to be paid or it will force the operator to payout?

From our perspective, that has always been the real test: what happens when the player wins and wants his money?

And since we're talking about offshore gambling history: were you around during the old Costa Rica/Panama bookie boom? How many of those traditional offshore books actually held what you would consider a proper gambling licence? And weren't there also long running businesses among them that built their reputations precisely by honoring bets and paying their players?

That's much closer to the world our operation came from than the modern crypto casino model you're comparing us with.

WhoDaresWinz

Your point about the Gaming Curaçao badge was taken the first time. Removing an image from the footer takes seconds; the fact that it hasn't been removed within a few hours of your post doesn't mean we're ignoring it. It will be removed.

And ultimately, you're welcome to criticize the website, our transparency, our structure or anything else you find those are valid subjects and some of your criticism has already been useful to us. But calling us a “new scammy casino” is where I'll push back strongly. We're not new, we're not scammers, and we have always honored legitimate payouts. We have a real business and we take the integrity of that work seriously.

At the same time, I understand where your skepticism comes from if your experience is mainly with the newer crypto-casino world. There have been enough questionable operators in that space to make people suspicious. Just understand that this isn't the world iGambler came from.
