Now in a situation where you lose both your phone and your wallet credentials, recovery may become difficult if not impossible.
"BEING DIFFICULT" is just an understatement, The best phrase to use is Impossible, coz that is the reality of  anyone trying to recover their account back in case of losing both their phones and seedphrase...Bitcoin ecosystem isn't like our day to day banking system where we could easily go to the bank official for a change of password or account recovery..This is the more reason why folks should never joke with their security...Surely in majority of my response and post, I am always of the opinion that folks kickstart their accumulation journey without them delaying themselves with gaining much knowledge, but then again it is still very important that folks also and always learn self custody while on the go...Meaning that they should learn how to store their Bitcoins on a self custody wallet as well as also learning how to properly store those their seed phrases in cases of devices loss...This seedphrase can be store either be engraved in any metallic object or written down and kept in a very safe place which beyond the reach of outsiders...

You have answers to your question already, but a little addition to what has being said, there is no loss to assets on both custodial and non custodial wallet when the registered credentials and passkey are available. For a lost custodial wallet, there will be provision to input the registered email and password of that wallet, after which a prompt notice of an authenticator code request pops up, there will also be an option for "lost authenticator access " after which further verification process is confirmed. For a non custodial wallet, there is no recovery when the seed phrase is lost.

Do you know that you can still lose access to your custodial wallet? How this is possible is a scenario whereby you registered and email address and you didn't input recovery details like another email address or your phone number incase you forgot your password. There are people that automatically logs in to their email address whenever they want to check mailbox and after a long time they might forget their password if they didn't write it out somewhere. So in a situation where they lost their phone, when they try logging in to their custodial wallet with another phone it will require that they input their email address and password, so if the password to the custodial wallet is also forgotten it will require that you input the email address and ask for a password recovery. In that situation you will need access to your email but since you have forgotten your email password that means it will be difficult to log in your email address and get the recovery link of the custodial wallet.

So far your keys which serves as the security of your wallet is stored safely elsewhere and not inside the missing device then you're not losing anything in your wallet but if it happened that tbe phone got stolen by someone who successfully login and get acess to your keys then your coin is gone.

I would've quoted the popular slogan about keys but I believe it's a popular phrase that people should know by now and take precautions on how to  protect their keys, cause it's the most important thing that concerns the security of a wallet. Avoid storing your keys in your phone especially inside the email, it should be engraved in a metal plate and stored in a safe at different locations.
What separate location, you should understand that metal plating isn't popular here in Nigeria, at least not in my part of the country so asking me to make sure my seed is engraved on a mental plate might not be very realistic, long story short; it's easier said than done, but that's even a different issue entirely, the problem here is that what other location can you store you seed phrase at?.
If you are talking about storing it in a 'safe' then you should know that if it gets broken into then your bitcoin is gone, we can try to avoid hacking as much as we want by not storing it online but that doesn't eliminate the threat because as long as people still know you are holding bitcoin you seed phrase will still be a target, the best suggestion right will be possible safe location outside of your house and to also make sure you have more than one copy of your seed phrase just to make sure.

If dem thief your phone the person wey thief am no go fit access your bitcoin if dem no get your private keys or your recovery phrase.Na why dem dey advise crypto enthusiasts to store their seed phrase offline, anything wey make you store your seed phrase for notepad, email or password manager no be only physical thief fit access am but hackers online go break into where you store your login credentials for your phone.By right no be the wallet wey dey your phone dey manage your bitcoin rather na the blockchain network nai dey claim ownership of your bitcoin and dem dey give wallet the go ahead to transfer your bitcoin through private keys.So the koko na to secure your login credentials offline and keep them for better place.

On no account should bitcoin investors store their wallet in their phone because if that phone is missing, and the persons that stole your phone gains access to your wallet phrase or security details, you are really in trouble, so the best way is to keep your wallet security details out of reach of anyone except the person you pleases to. Some of these criminals who snatch phones, some of them are not really looking for the phone, but they peruse through your phone, tampering with even your Bank apps, and if such person is aquatinted with what wallet phrase is all about, and he sets his eyes on it he can actually tamper with your wallet. Therefore avoid saving some vital information on your phone.

Sometimes it also depends on how you setup the wallet because their are people who always keep their wallet free from any security means of accessibility and as such making it very vulnerable for anybody that's with their smartphone to access it, so actually no be something them they talk too much because na one time them go take sweep everything comot for your wallet. Na way people way they always make plenty Waka for either business or normal they like keep only their secret phrase safe and delete any wallet app them get for their phone so that nobody go fit even know sell them they into Bitcoin so actually you should always make sure your security also protect your assets even when you lost the phone.

This is the reason why we should be careful with the security of our mobile device, especially with people who are around us because you don't know the intentions of people around us. We should be very sensitive of our environment as the trust is a very big issue these days.

We should be very sensitive with our passwords when it comes to our mobile devices so that even if it's gets to possession of people who are close to us they may not have access to our phone, because anyone who has access into your phone can use it against us. Especially for those of us who are into crypto currency, because if someone doesn't protect his wallet very well he or she risks losing his crypto currencies.

Now in a situation where you lose both your phone and your wallet credentials, recovery may become difficult if not impossible.
There's nothing like difficult there, once you loose the recovery key or seed  and every other means to access your wallet without any backups to fall back on, it's almost impossible (which is still impossible anyway) unless the future threats are trully up to the level  of breaking keys/ seeds.

It's  just like losing access to your fiat account , then bank request your KYC and you said you have none. Unfortunately  unlike you KYC that can be recreated, Bitcoin keys doesn't  work the same way .

Not your key not your  coin .
No key no coin.

You both are saying the same thing so you shouldn't have started with "there's nothing like difficult there". Anyways, since i discovered that storing important things like the seed phrase online or a gadget like phone is not really a good option, I don't advise people in that anymore, before now I used to support storing it in email but that like risking it to hackers or anyone who can access your mail the best way to store the seed phrase is offline not online.

Even with the risk involved in storing our seed phrase in emails and how people can easily access it since it store online but still people are still risking it and storing their seed phrase there. Aside hackers having access to our  data or maybe anyone with the access to our mails can have access to those seed phrase even those close to us that have access to our phones can steal them from us and empty our wallet and this are some reasons why we shouldn’t consider emails as a safe place.
Storing our seed phrase offline is the more safest place for average users because the most secure place are costly. Let write out our seed phrase and store them around us and we should avoid taking our seed phrase screenshots, And seems like most of this wallets don’t even allow that anymore because it not safe.

If you loss your phone or computer or something else happens to them and your seed phrase is stored on those devices and not elsewhere then you will lose access to your bitcoin, because you will need your seed phrase to restore your wallet. If someone successfully hacked into your device or your device was stolen and the person was able to unlock your device without erasing it the person can access your wallet and steal your bitcoin. In whatever you do make sure to store your seed phrase some where safe other than your phone or computer.

There is a saying in the crypto world that if you do not have the Seed Phrase, then you do not own the Bitcoin. If your mobile is lost or stolen, if you have the Seed Phrase, then you can easily take control of your Bitcoin again. For example, take a safe mobile and download your wallet app on that mobile and press Restore Wallet or Import Wallet and take control of your wallet by giving the correct information in the next steps.

If your mobile is stolen or damaged, nothing happens to our Bitcoin. We always have to save our Seed Phrase, then only we can easily take control of our Bitcoin.

Na why we dey encourage people to use non custodial wallets and to keep multiple copies of their seed phrase offline. We get so many good storage options to choose from, you fit write your keys on paper or engrave in steel. That way, even if person lose him device, he can never lose access to him coins.
Wating you talk na true, we’re always encouraged to save our seed phrase somewhere private where someone can’t have access to it probably when we loose our access device, for a sole purpose of saving our seeds should in case we loose our gadgets because anything can happen, for the purpose of having a more secure security it’s better to use a non custodial wallet, normally place way we fit keep all this things plenty so that we no go enter problem for future way go make us loose our bitcoin, and your bitcoin would be there unless say the person way thief the phone have access to the wallet.

What are your thoughts on this?
I can remember, it took me about 2 pc crashes before I learnt about saving my information online and since then as long as the device has internet access I have always been fine. I mean yes there is the chance of my details getting stolen online but just like you described here, there is also the chance of losing my physical device or it getting stolen. So both of the options have their perks and all but the one that fits me best is saving my information online. I have created multiple wallets over time and I can tell you he ones that are active, I don't think I have ever looked for my seed phrase to access them because like I said as long as the device has access to the internet I can get my details.

Even if you lose your phone, there is no need to panic if you have the security key and seed phrase. If someone steals your phone intentionally to remove your Bitcoin holdings, it is likely that the person is someone you know. And if the thief's only intention is to steal your phone, then you are at a low risk of losing your assets.

Install the wallet on another phone and recover the wallet by set the seed phrase and security key. If you have Bitcoin holdings in your wallet, transfer them to another wallet immediately because if the thief knows your private key, he may be able to move them elsewhere. Bitcoin is decentralized and no one can steal your assets without your permission. You need to be very careful when building a security system. The easiest way is to write it down on paper and hide it in multiple locations so that it is safe. Avoid writing them down on any online based device. It is always wise to use a non-custodial wallet for Bitcoin holdings.

The question you asked as your title has already been answered by yourself  yet I will like to contribute or add to what you have said. If someone misplaced his or her phone and their wallet is in that device, plenty things are usually involve and one of them is that if you don't log out your wallet the person who stole the device can easily access your wallet and transfers any amount because some wallet don't request for withdrawal password or key while some do request for it so we should always log out our device at all time.

You're right to an extent, i forgot that this is Nigeria and metal plating is not very common like in foreign countries where a titanium plate can be ordered online with the marker, well there are still people in urbam areas of our country that are capable to ordering one onine, it might be very costly for some folks but we can't generalise that everyone in naija is very broke and can't afford having a metal plate of about 60k or above in our local currency.

People who can't afford one can improve with a strong paper sheet. When i said different locations i meant that it shouldn't be stored in same house incase of emergency situations like fire outbreak or so, one can be stored safely at home while the back up at another safe location.

Bitcoin users are not that careless these days as before, except for a newbie who has yet zero experience about Bitcoin, else anyone that creates an address today thinks of backing up their seed phrase first before using the address to receive their coins. Personally, if I create a new address right now, before I even send coins to the address, the first thing I don't is a paper back up, secondly if the address is not going to be a hot and frequently used address, once I create it and back up the seed phrase and also copied my deposit address, I will delete it from my phone, meaning that even if I lose my phone or someone have access to it without my consent, you can not see my Bitcoin wallet. The other precautions to take is that, you should always put your phone on lock and also lock your important applications like wallet app, if you do so, a thief can not use your phone without flashing the phone.

Bitcoin gives a person financial freedom, but if someone cannot enjoy that freedom, then he will have to be responsible for it. The bank itself takes the responsibility of maintaining a bank account. In that case, the customer has to take all the benefits according to the bank's rules. But when someone is using Bitcoin, he gets more advantage and he has to take the responsibility of his own bank. The user has to take the responsibility of that account or wallet. That is why the seed phrases of the user's wallet have to be stored very carefully. The wallet can be lost, but if that seed phrase is stored in safe place, then the assets will also be safe, but if for some reason the device is lost and the seed phrase stored in that device, then the assets will be stolen. Before using Bitcoin, the necessary keys of the wallet should be stored properly. A person's phone can be lost for any reason, but if someone safely stores those seed phrases, then even if the phone is lost, the assets will be completely safe.

If anyone knows the value of is money, the first thing he will do is to keep is account safe by finding a better place to secure is private key, I can says is the newbie’s that don’t have the knowledge can be falling to that trap, but experience once always have a better plan and keep their coin safe in a better wallet.

As and investors, you can’t just have one pattern of keeping your seed phrase, so that if this one lost, you can get another alternative to recover it and get access to your coins. Sure, I can says they have people that always leave there phone unlocked, after opening the home page, you can get access to everything, and when a thief get the phone, he can easily get all what he needed.
