This is a very common scam now and I have been reading about it at the time I have been seeing new accounts creating the scam post on this forum.

The urge of making quick profit will not allow them to stay quite and hold their coin, they will fall victim due to greed, the small rewards of either staking or anything related to doubling their coin will lead them to search for possible ways of making more from what they are expected to make, and that is how some of them fall victims of scam because I believe they will look for tutorial videos anywhere which is where they might have come across face tutorial videos to mislead them to get them scammed.
The best thing is to buy and hold your coin, no need to look for ways to stake your holdings, just hold and forget about it until it’s time you need the money.

That's due to greed, they think that crypto is really like an unlimited gold mine where they can keep on earning by easy tutorials on Youtube.

Many of those videos are from hackers and are only for clout. It's sad that there has another way of scammers to trick victims.

Most pepple simply cannot wait. The greed takes hold. They put their coin away in cold storage, feel clever for a day, and then get itchy fingers.
They go looking for yield, clicking dodgy URLs and hopping into margin trades, because HODLing is too boring.

When someone using a safe wallet and storing precious coins and tokens. The only chances it can get compromise is when the whole system got burned but if youre an active user on defi and web3 and connecting that wallet to any dapps that comes around then thats the thing you should worry since 1 out of 100 would likely trying to scam you. "These days"? This isn't anything new. I mean claude is new but that's just another road to scam people. If someone doesn't understand what the code is when they are vibe-coding, they are not in charge.

People have been finding ways to double their money and make more since the start. And there always were people who thought that bitcoin isn't going to make people rich anymore and people who believed it will moon, no matter how low or high it was.

Also, opsec is never "doing nothing", so keeping your private key safe isn't doing nothing either. There has been fake wallets, wallet drainer viruses and countless of different ways to scam since the start.

You want to remove every possibility for anyone accessing to your private key. Winklevoss brothers even destroyed their hard drives and printers after printing them. And even they aren't trying to safekeep those privatekeys by themselves, but rather rely on bank vaults and their safety lockers around the world.

And potentially, this is going to show them why the early investors have made so much profit. I'll never buy the idea that the structure of alts should call for being carelessly silly, understanding how this scam went through, it's clear that the victims were moved by two things the AI trend, and the vibe of coding an arbitrage bot from scratch to finish to maximize profit. Imagine being brainwashed to an extent of willingly depositing funds to the scammers under the scope of funding the AI built arbitrage bot the youtubers convinced the victims to build using their malicious codes.

Don't trust stranger on the internet, let alone a youtube tutorial from channel with 5 subscribers, but don't the victims have any initiative to ask what the program does to the Claude itself? could've saved them from being robbed by just asking one small question.

Even though I'll try to earn yield when I'm holding an altcoin by staking and rarely locking it up in a cold storage, I also know what I'm doing and have done an extensive research about the risk. I generally think these kind of mistake only possible because lack of knowledge and research initiative blinded by greed to become rich overnight, doing arbitrage in reality is difficult and you're competing with some rich guys who have their arbitrage bot hosted 5 blocks away from validator, metaphorically.

These arbitrage bot drainers have been around for many years. Now people are using the hype around AI to trick people. I am surprised that people are still falling for this and the scam has been so successful to steal more than 274 ETH.

To be successful at arbitrage you need to invest a lot of capital into running a MEV bot. The average person can’t just vibe code their own bot and make good profits. I don’t know how people can be so gullible.
