I bought UNI in the 2023/2025 bull run but I later sold the coin when it got to $15. I think the price of the coin increased up to $19 but fell to less than $3 this year. Reduce your expectations because we are no longer in that trend again. I used to have Chainlink as one of my favorite token, I didn't even have money to buy it at that time but I was having high expectations to buy and hold it. Each day that pass was for me to buy it but the price kept dumpling, it was dumping until the price was no longer looking like there are buyers again and now link is not even interesting again to investors, that is how I see UNI token too.

Haven't you see the recent trend of decentralized perpetual, hype is one of the leading tokens, do you see how institutional investors are so interested in buying it. A time will come when hype will be 3 times lower than what it's trading and people will not be interested because it's a trend. AI tokens did the same recently and now it looks like they are also forgeten. So be careful, with what you want to buy at this time of the market.

Reduce your expectations because we are no longer in that trend again. I used to have Chainlink as one of my favorite token, I didn't even have money to buy it at that time but I was having high expectations to buy and hold it. I also benefited from this Uni token back in 2023 when I bought it from a friend who was privileged enough for his wallet to be among those who were awarded the token. If I could remember correctly, when I bought the token at a rate less than $7, I sold it for more than $20 when I offloaded it. Ever since then, I have not been following them up to see the movement until today.

I checked and noticed that even this current $8+ market value was just reached in the last 30 days. Of course, it was still down within $3 or something. Maybe this recent market move gave it that push, and if it can continue, you will see your target reached soon.

One thing about altcoin is that don't setting a price that you want to sell your token would likely make you to end up losing big time and learning the hard way. There are some investors that are just waiting for a UNI token to increase either by $1 or $0.5, and when that happens they will sell their UNI tokens and take profit, and as an altcoin such practice can cause a downrun in the price of UNI token making it difficult for the $15 price you want to sell your UNI token not to materialize. So it's better you sell your UNI token below $15 so that you won't be use as an exit liquidity.

Congratulations, yet, you have to limit your expectations in cryptocurrency coins especially altcoins, they can go fae above what you were expecting but going above $10 in this market condition will be difficult, because just yesterday, it has dropped down by almost 6%.
I am not discouraging you in anyway, UNI is a very good project because their platform was what many were using as DEX back then and they delivered their services so well, therefore, anything can happen in this crypto market.

One thing about altcoin is that don't setting a price that you want to sell your token would likely make you to end up losing big time and learning the hard way. There are some investors that are just waiting for a UNI token to increase either by $1 or $0.5, and when that happens they will sell their UNI tokens and take profit, and as an altcoin such practice can cause a downrun in the price of UNI token making it difficult for the $15 price you want to sell your UNI token not to materialize. This is different, I bought the coin when there has been bear market and it was around $3. The bull run has not started but the coin has risen over $8.5.
UNI is going to $15 and there is high possibility that it may increase above $19.
It is good for people to make good speculation before posting anything. If Mayor of ogba do more finding on the coin, he will understand me.

Just as important as it is in limiting your expectations from altcoins, you should make plans to take the loses when it comes, one thing that altcoins investment have similar to trading is that, you may be lucky to accumulate steady profits for sometimes, but you should not take that as a guarantee profit route as investors, radar you should take it as a wave that will soon change into the other direction so you have to get to a point where you take the available profits and move on with that as it is instead risking and then losing it.

To be honest, it's still a good token IMO because the volume is still good and liquid. But don't be too expecting with this because the narrative has changed lately.

But as long as the price is keeping up and those who bought when it was below $8, you did a great job and put a lot of patience in it.

My mistake was I did a cut loss when it was $3 and thought that this project was already dead. Anyway, congrats to the winners who held it.

Who could forget the uniswap token. I think this is the massive airdrop that started the onchain traction for users and become standard for using swap and provide liquidity in different dex.

I might sold my uni tokens during the time it was launch and moon but I believed that theres a future for UNI since they literally active on different chain as of now creating massive trading volume and huge revenues off the fees. When it comes to dex tokens then if youre gomma buy off some then UNI is a good option for that as the team is great and very active.

A friend of mine had this same experience with shiba inu, he saw $100k profit and he refused to sell his intention was to sell it when the profit gets to $150k, even his wife advised him to sell at $100k he still refused and insisted with his initial plan to sell when he sees $150k profit. As he was patiently waiting for the profit to get to $150k low and behold shiba inu dumped so hard, that the $100k profit reduced to $30k profit that was when he decided to sell, because he was afraid shiba inu would dump more. Since altcoin can dump so hard at any giving time, setting a price sell for altcoins isn't good practice to adopt.

Uniswap is making a massive protocol revenue spike when Robinhood chain went live and has seen $93M UNI burned because launchpads is attaching hook to Uniswap and the UNI rise is to be expected, the token has been going up ever since. Quite a good token even though it is a primarily a governance token.

Pretty good to hold for now but if protocol revenue going down again and bitcoin doesn't enter bullish stage, might see another correction. Directly linking protocol revenue to governance token is a good thing, but it's still at the end of the day just a governance token that shares no protocol revenue directly but through burning. If I were holding UNI I'd try to observe the protocol revenue daily and actually find correlation between it and the price, to see if the token is already overvalued.

A friend of mine had this same experience with shiba inu, he saw $100k profit and he refused to sell his intention was to sell it when the profit gets to $150k, even his wife advised him to sell at $100k he still refused and insisted with his initial plan to sell when he sees $150k profit. As he was patiently waiting for the profit to get to $150k low and behold shiba inu dumped so hard, that the $100k profit reduced to $30k profit that was when he decided to sell, because he was afraid shiba inu would dump more. Since altcoin can dump so hard at any giving time, setting a price sell for altcoins isn't good practice to adopt.

No one knows where to exit, so there's really no right answer to a winning tactic. I mean you could sell slowly in the bullrun and keep a moonbag, but you could be looking at 10000% profits for those coins you already sold, and you are missing on huge profits.

And at least your friend sold on a profit. It's better to cut your losses then live in denial. I am speaking from experience. I have done both, the denial and cashing out with so huge profit that seems impossible in anywhere else in investing or trading.

When you have huge profits, it often comes with huge hype where everyone around you believe in the moon and it seems insane to give it up. It starts to feel like nothing could bring it down. Until it does.

-30% will seem like a correction and people are shouting buy the dip. After it drops more, you will be easily in denial. After all you just found the one thing that made you huge profits and it's unlikely to find anything similar, so you keep your funds in that.

agree with cryptoaddictchie, that airdrop was the first onchain swap for a lot of people. the big change since then is fees, on L2 a swap costs cents now so its an everyday thing, not a once a year one

The UNI token is largely driven by Uniswap's success. Things aren't looking good for the token, especially when it's been struggling to reach a new ATH. The last recorded ATH was on May 2021, with a price of $44.97 (according to CoinMarketCap). The token burn is a great effort by the community, but a lot more needs to be done to "pump" prices all the way to the moon. It's a "governance token", so I wouldn't expect much from it.

At least, Uniswap has its own L2 chain. Maybe something good can come out of Unichain? Only time will tell...
