You can't make money from either one, at least for regularly. You might win once or twice, but the third time you'll lose. Anyone who says otherwise is either lying or is part of the 0.001% minority that makes money from gambling/trading activities.

With gambling, you'll lose your money faster. With trading, you'll lose your money slower. The choice is yours.

Gambling is faster and these days, we see people thinking of a quick way to earn and they end up going with gambling.

But see to it which of the two is going to work well because IMHO, these two are not stable in thinking earning whether slow or fast.

I do not know if this post should be posted at the gambling section or this trading board because if you look at the title it both has gambling and trading which I am trying to know where to post it.
That not withstanding, finally decided to post it here as I believe that it would well answered over here than the other side. I was having a conversation with a friend and he was like saying 'he has two things in his mind on to into but, he doesn't know the one that could pay him more faster and quickly" He also considered trading but that would take his time as he lack patient,

You guys are speaking of trading like it's easy or something, Trading should not be kept in a list of options where gambling is too, it's just like choosing between gym and dancing.. it doesn't make sense

Trading is a business, it's building, it's management, it's accumulation, it's serious.. Gambling is for fun and you are putting the both of them in the sam list of options,
Trading is not an option, it is intentional if your ready to do it you can do it, you are ready to face the challenge and losses that comes with it in oder to build profitability and a good life..
If your friend knows what he wants he will have a decision, trading isn't a quick way to get money.

If we are just talking about which one is faster, obviously gambling. But you also lose money faster in gambling compared to trading. Trading and gambling have some similarities, but they are both totally different and their differences can be well spotted out when we look into their characteristics the more. Gambling is a game that is based on luck and trade doesn’t work like that, it works more with knowledge rather than hoping for luck to find you.

Trading can be very difficult to grasp because of the fountain of knowledge needed to be on the better side of it, but it is worth learning and understanding more over gambling, but they are still both highly risk involved. In trading, scaling up is possible which is what cannot be seen from gambling. Only risk what you can afford to lose in both of them and only increase your risk in trading rather than increasing in gambling when you’re winning.

Tell your friend that none of them is the solution and that he should go for other things.  It is not in only investment that you need patience, person also needs patience when trading and gambling. My first, second, third and fourth bet was all bunch of losses. Hell yeah I am a human being so I got depressed after that happened and I told myself that i will not gamble again in my life. Though your friend could be luckier than me and make his first profit from his first bet. But it will not be wise for your friend to be relying in luck when he can just get a good skill that will surely give him the money that he is looking for.

That is in theory, but for real trading is exactly like gambling and it's due to the fact we are talking about an unpredictable market nobody can assure if it's going to pump or dump on the following hours or days. Everything is possible and a logic behind the fluctuations isn't needed at all... It puts the trader in a situation where he has to be lucky to pick the right side on the present time, doesn't matter how knowledgeable he is and for how long he has been already inserted in this market.

The so many traders facing losses continually can't be explained just by saying they aren't skilled or experienced enough, just like we can't explain majority of gamblers losing money for being unskilled and inexperienced on gambling matters.

Actually gambling can be faster but still depends on how lucky you are; if not, then trading would be faster depending on what strategy you are currently using.


So if you ask this question for gambling, depending in your luck while trading also depends on your strategy.

However, gambling should be the faster if you are lucky but if not, then trading would be an alternative, but if you have a system, the profitability is not instant as how you made it from gambling.

Gambling is not a financial tool unlike trading that gives you control on what will be the outcome of your investment depending on your skills.

Gambling offers a game with house edge which means we are already at loss on every bet. It just give as an opportunity to play games that gives quick result that’s why people often mislead that it’s “fast profit”.

A lot of people say in trading discussions, "you are gambling, not trading". Some are also making good enough money in gambling instead of trading. Some may agree and some are not.
For me, if a friend doesn't want to learn trading, then trading for him is almost the same as gambling already, just pressing buttons.

HODL / DCA is better advice for that case. Gambling can give a fast win, but that's not earning; that's luck. I only gamble extra money I can afford to lose, not for "fast income".

Your advice isn't wrong, and tbh, it's actually spot on. But like you said, he's not a patient guy. He sounds like someone who's looking to get rich quick, so I doubt he'll really value your advice.

To answer your title, I don't know which one can make money faster, gambling or trading. But I'm pretty sure of one thing, sooner or later he's gonna go broke picking either one.

Neither of them is really a good way to make money. Buy and hold is the way to go, imo.

Everyone is aware of the great difference that knowledge and research can make, but I will be extremely cautious to say that just because someone purchased a trusted coin, then they'll automatically make profit. The thing I am more concerned about with the OP's friend is his impatience.  One thing I know is that looking for a fast way to make money doesn't always end well, because they may even end up taking bigger risks just because they're looking for a fast results. Trading isn't gambling. But it's not random that it's constantly compared to gambling, and a lot of folks even see it as just another form of gambling.

Do you even know what the failure rate for traders actually is? A bunch of surveys show 90-95%, some even as high as 97%. Is there any other business or investment activity with a failure rate that high?

Whatever you wanna call trading, there's one thing for sure: no matter how much knowledge, experience or how good a strategy you have, none of that guarantees you'll actually make money without a bit of luck .

Even in trading, one can still lose their money faster, just set the leverage to the maximum (like 100x - 350x) and a small move against your predicted direction will wipe the account clean of every money used in taking that trade. When I first started features trading, then I have not really understood how to use leverage very well, first time of using 50x leverage and cross margin, I lost all the money I deposited within 10 minutes, just one momentum candle destroyed my account.

I think if you want to earn money fast, you will have to take some illegal steps and that I do not recommend.

Beyond that, logically speaking, gambling results are coming faster ev->ev+ games, trading takes time to sell back and then get the profit and there you have it.

Ev+ games require some groundwork to be able to place the bet if you want to that is.

What I do not understand is the reason why you want the "fast" component in making money and not make it all slow and steady because from my experience, this type of attitude leads to losses and the get-rich-quick mindset will make the person suffer much to bring them away from the world of speculative markets and bitcoin as a whole.
