A lot of Bitcoin discussions eventually come back to price, how high it can go, when the next bull market starts, or whether we are heading into another correction.

But if we completely remove the price from the conversation, what is left?

Bitcoin gives people the ability to hold and transfer value without depending on a central bank, payment company, or government to approve every transaction. Its fixed supply, decentralized network, and predictable monetary rules are also very different from traditional financial systems.

At the same time, Bitcoin still has real challenges: scalability, transaction fees, energy consumption, privacy, and the difficulty of getting ordinary people to actually use self-custody.

So I'm curious what others think:

If Bitcoin’s price stayed exactly where it is for the next 10 years, would you still consider Bitcoin valuable? Why or why not?

Bitcoin biggest strength comes from it's decentralization, censorship resistance and security, the price is an added advantage and it value increased as more people and institutions came to appreciate its core features of being in total control of your finances, independent of the government and any third-party involvement. Those who harness bitcoin greatest strength are those who practice self-custody with their coins.

If Bitcoin’s price stayed exactly where it is for the next 10 years, would you still consider Bitcoin valuable? Why or why not?
I don't think bitcoin will stay same for the next 10 years, but even if it does, those who value freedom with their finances would always choose bitcoin. Bitcoin is valuable because it takes back the power over your finances from the government and gives it to the investor who adopts it.

Other parts of bitcoin are not regularly talked about because it stays constant. It remains as secure and immutable now as it was when it was created, asides for new BIPs getting released or some forks that occur from time to time, nothing changes.

Conversations happen around adoption growth and transaction fees when there is a significant surge. Price conversations only heighten also around when there is a bullrun or a dip, not what the price just floats around a steady range.

If Bitcoin’s price stayed exactly where it is for the next 10 years, would you still consider Bitcoin valuable? Why or why not?
Yes. Because of its unique features.

Scalability is not the problem as long as the mempool is not getting congested often. There is also lightning network that you can have little part of your bitcoin.

Bitcoin transaction fee is low. Only when it is high is when the mempool is congested and not too often.

What that is important is the electricity to be from clean energy. I will blame government and people for not generating clean energy. The world should be moving to clean energy.

Bitcoin miners are paying for the electricity. That means it increases employment. Bitcoin mining increase employment in electricity sector and also in miners manufacturing companies.

To be truthful the biggest portion of people in Bitcoin are here for the price, the want to see the investment they made on Bitcoin go up so they keep their noses on the price chat, the price is not the biggest strength of Bitcoin but it is now like the magnet that is used to attract people to Bitcoin.
The other abilities Bitcoin gives people can not be unnoticed but in a world where money rules almost everything Bitcoin is now people's source of financial light at the end of the tunnel.

From everything you mentioned, it’s actually already answered where Bitcoin’s strength lies because the main value of Bitcoin is in its fundamentals with a fixed supply, a decentralized network and resistance to censorship.

So as long as Bitcoin remains like this it will continue to be the most unique asset, even considered a financially sovereign asset. People will still be interested in Bitcoin even if its price fluctuates or stagnates, because basically, price is just one market indicator, not the only measure of value we get from Bitcoin. Sure, challenges like the ones you mentioned regarding scalability and privacy do exist, but as long as the network keeps running properly, Bitcoin fluctuating or stagnant price doesn’t erase the uniqueness that attracts people to it.

Sometimes it just amazes me to see people ask a questions and go ahead to provide their self with the answers in the next paragraph.
Let me just answer your last since you have answered most of the questions you asked in the first paragraph.

If bitcoin stays at a fix price in the next 10 year, in my opinion it will be treated as we treat the stable coin and no more be regarded as an asset to keep. It will only be used for transactions but with more security and privacy to that which could be provided by the stable coins though. And that’s the decentralisation we are talking about.

The biggest strength of Bitcoin has never been it's price
The price is the reflection of how it's perceived by the market currently
Nothing that has to do with Bitcoin itself.
What's truly it's strength is decentralisation, security, Trust and the hard coded limit in supply.
Any other benefit and strength it has revolves around decentralization even it's supply.

Hmm, interesting way, but it has been discussed several times here, even the last question you asked, I am sure has been asked recently. Well, the answer to that question is, stable price for 10 years will kill the miners' revenue as halvings keep cutting the rewards and inflation won't stop, inflation will keep rising, so miners won't mine anymore.

That's one side effect, they might mine, but then the consensus has to be changed from PoW to PoS maybe.

So you can say price is not just speculation, bro, it is literally part of how the network stays secure as well, because not all miners are here for the sake of this network, they also have to survive, not everyone is rich.

Honestly the reason why I came into bitcoin and cryptocurrency in a whole is the idea of new technology and the potential it has in a long run . Yes , bitcoin price growth also add to it . Many folks are interested in bitcoin due to the fact that it can also play the role of investment due to it being volatile in nature . To the point that many don’t actually know the sore purpose of bitcoin was created for. Yeah even if bitcoin price remains same for the next 10 years I will still be here , despite the investment aspect Bitcoin still plays other vital roles and not to talk about the opportunity that comes with decentralization.

I think that most of the challenges mentioned by the OP have already been solved through Layer 2 i.e., the Lightning Network, where transactions are fast, and transaction fees are very low. Where overall the Bitcoin's scalability has been done.

I actually doubt how much green energy can actually cover even if the government take the steps for it. While green energy is good for the environment, it is expensive to produce and at the same time not available as expected. I'm actually waiting for that kind of invention where mining will consume less electricity. And I think that  will be a good solution.
And about Bitcoin privacy, there is also the top  solution like Bitcoin mixer।

You are always free to set transaction fees. You can also transact with 0 fees if you want, but it takes time. Still, Bitcoin's transaction fees are much lower than the traditional banking system, and it is more efficient for large transactions.

I don't understand why there is still a question about energy (electricity). Although electricity is used for other activities, there is so much controversy about the electricity used in Bitcoin. There is no question that a lot of electricity is still wasted in the world. Mining Bitcoin with an environmentally friendly electricity system might not be a problem, but the government is unable to do it despite various means.

Maintaining privacy in Bitcoin is very easy. You can use only one address for each transaction. However, if you don't publicize the address, then no one in the world will know that the transaction is yours or that address is yours.

IMO clean energy isn’t a major issue. The world is still far from using renewables for large scale mining. Multiple studies have shown that “green energy” isn’t totally free from environmental pollution. Yes, there are environmental trade-offs but is it worth the cost to miners?

Sincerely, if Bitcoin's price remains stable and constant with what it is right now, investments and their investors would simply reduce, in that they would sort other coins or investment opportunities that have the advantage of doubling the investment input in a few years time.

One reason why so many of us invest in Bitcoin is because of the effect of volatilities that makes the price rise to an exponential rate with a good potential return on investment and even though same volatility makes the price dips most times, both the rise or pump in price and the dip contribute to the opportunity in the market that Bitcoin presents and that makes it a valuable investment besides the fact that it is decentralized currency and can't be controlled by a government or state and also for the P2p system that makes it usable at any time and across any boundaries without third party involvement.

Well I believe Bitcoin's biggest strength is we the users. If nobody actually made use of Bitcoin in its early stage, which was in 2009, then there is a high possibility that we wouldn't even know it existed. So yeah because we humans like to explore new things, that was what brought Bitcoin to where it is today. That said you insisted that what if Bitcoin's price was fixed at a level for 10 years right? Then there is a high possibility that after that 10 years, it might either rise or fall which proves Bitcoin is still valued. But we can't say for certain that something like that would reduce the value of Bitcoin so it all comes down to how people choose to take action either sell or keep holding...That's all......

If Bitcoin’s price stayed exactly where it is for the next 10 years, would you still consider Bitcoin valuable? Why or why not?

The price of Bitcoin is currently in the $80k price point, if Bitcoin stays at that point it means it would become stable to an extent, it might no longer serve the purpose of being used as a store of value for that period but would be usedd utilities instead of held longer for more value. However strength isn't in the price cause it didn't just suddenly become valuable, it's in the things that makes it valueable, like decentralization, scarcity, limited supply and adoption.

Yeah the biggest strength of Bitcoin is not really the price but the control over it supply flow makes mature for every one intending  to investing Bitcoin which means it can't just be devaluated by the government as a result of excess production of like fiat.
My most interesting part about Bitcoin the the ability bto access it from anywhere ones there is internet to send and receive transactions anywhere and time.

These disadvantages you mentioned are not disadvantages, par say, many Bitcoin users are not complaining at all. If the Bitcoin network is not congested, there will be no challenge of high transaction fees or scalability, as you say, and for the electricity or energy consumption issues, I think miners are taking that responsibility. We have several alternatives to generate energy, so that should not be a problem at all because the value of Bitcoin is worth paying high energy consumption for to mine Bitcoin.

Talking about taking the Bitcoin price away and what will be left, I think everything has value; its value will determine how worthy and important it is. The journey Bitcoin has been so far explains everything; it has the value it deserves and will be worth more than this in the future.

The value will be for transaction then if the price stayed where it is till the next five years while it has no value for those who want to make gain from it if the price remain the same. Volatility makes Bitcoin to be valuable and bitcoin can't stop to be a volatile asset, there is exactly no way the price of bitcoin will remain the same for a long time like 10 years rather the price will appreciate more if you accumulate now and hodl in the next 10 years or more.

Although the question is quite hypothetical, it is practically or technically impossible that the price will not increase or decrease. Nevertheless, since you have asked the question, I will answer that yes I will use or will use Bitcoin for my own control over my own wealth. But no may be because if we just hold it, the value of our money will decrease if we keep it in Bitcoin. Since money will lose its value, then no.
However, those who have a lot of money will definitely choose Bitcoin as self custody. Because here the government cannot freeze your funds even if they want to. So this may be the big strength of Bitcoin.
