I know that what I’m talking about is never possible—we can never go back to the past. But your ideas, thoughts, hopes, and mistakes from 10 years ago can help newbies learn from them.

I want to know: if you could go back 10 years, what mistakes would you correct? What decision would you make about Bitcoin?

I want you to give good feedback so that newbies don't make the same mistakes as you and use their time wisely.

Nothing different. One only learns from the consequences - good or bad - of their actions. What others do is pretty much irrelevant as what works for some folks may not work for others.

You did not mention bitcoin on your post. Whaynis it doing on the bitcoin discussion board? Maybe it can be on the politics and society board, but I think the right board this thread supposed to be is off-topic.

Some mistakes are teachers, but do not make the same mistakes repeatedly.

Bitcoin was mentioned by the OP but maybe probably you missed it out but he did mentioned about bitcoin that “had it been we were to go back in time in 10years back what decision are we going to take with bitcoin”.
Don’t know maybe he edited it but if he does it would have shown since you replied after a few minutes and it almost six minutes after the OP post so definitely you missed out when he mentioned about bitcoin

I like the question because the answers from individual will enable them picture what is possible in the next ten years rather than the previous ten years. If I know what I know now and I could go back ten years, then I would ensure that at least 40% of my income are invested into Bitcoin. I wouldn't sell any of those coins and I would maintain steady DCA throughout my active service.

Now projecting this to the future,  because I believe that if I implement the same sequence,  the result will not be much different. So, I will work hard and ensure I invest at least 40% of my income into Bitcoin.

10 years ago, I was not even aware of Bitcoin like I am now, so I think it is a mistake. I should have given importance to Bitcoin, and not buying it at that time can also be tagged as a mistake, so I will try to not repeat it if I can go back in time 10 years. But that's not possible, and we can't do anything about our past, we can only do something about our future.

And with the demand and adoption of Bitcoin, it is risky but better to take it, and hope for a better result from Bitcoin because it is growing as a new commodity like Gold. It can reach there at one time, or it can die on the way, so I can only make strategies for myself to turn this opportunity into a golden one.

No need to look back... 10 years ago... maybe some people will answer I will buy more bitcoin and will not sell it, this will be a common answer.

What needs to be learned for newcomers from now on, how the market continues to change, every trend will be different, every cycle will be different, you already know how to plan an investment in bitcoin.

The most important thing is to learn about the security of your assets now, see a lot of news about hacks/exploits happening and this is what you need to learn as soon as possible so you don't become the next victim.

I don’t think I’ve made many mistakes in my bitcoin journey, if there’s anything I would say to my younger self, it would be join bitcointalk community and to buy more bitcoins - probably take the bitcoin family approach lol. Unfortunately, we do not have control of the past, only our present and future so that’s what I would advise newbies to focus on. Do not waste your time on the past or thinking you’re late to bitcoin, the best time to buy bitcoin is now and if you’re reading this post, you’re already on the right path.

Keep your seed phrase and private keys safe. Read about malware, hackers and scammers and also read about how you can avoid them.

You can gradually be reading these: Security and Privacy Encylopedia

Avoid trading or use just the amount that you can afford to lose for trading.

Be careful of new projects and most altcoins.

Some mistakes actually teach you better than when you've had no real experience of errors that could happen with your investments in Bitcoin. For instance, you would prefer to have lost some Bitcoin many years ago, when you've not completed a lot of Bitcoin, than to lose Bitcoin currently when you have accumulated a lot of Bitcoin.

My point is that an early experience, sometime in the form of what you call a mistake, can actually be an experience that helps you become a better investor in Bitcoin. You do not need to detest the mistakes or errors that you made; you just need to appreciate them for the lessons you learned from them.

Never believe in any Bitcoin investment platform that promises interest in high proportion, ponzi scheme that scams most of the newbies who think it's an actual Bitcoin investment.

It may seem like a simple topic, but for a newbie, this is a huge achievement. What you know or can do may seem easy and insignificant to you, but those who don’t know much about it can gain valuable knowledge from here. They can learn from the mistakes others have made in the past and avoid making the same mistakes themselves. They may not be able to control everything, but they will become more aware of the things they don’t know.
I believe that to learn about something, you should learn about the mistakes and experiences of others.
