Primary duties of every government

This is what happens when people emerge into power; don't expect them to be 100% efficient or accountable; some will even do more than you'd ever thought of. This is human nature, and you can't predict what they are up to until they finally emerge into that position. Any government must have its agenda and work towards it, ensuring that they bring it to fruition so that the people will all benefit from their regime.

I have come to understand that most government deviates from there constitutional duties as a government and goes at it pleases then without being questioned because the citizens at time do not know the primary purpose of government in every country, to start i will be pleased to outline some primary duties enshrined in the constitution.
Below are some of the primary purpose of every government. At first I will mention protection of lifes and properties of citizens,  Provision of employment opportunities and so on. All this and many I didn't mention are all duties recognised constitutionally which most governments choose to deviate from because of their own reasons.

Literally, when people criticize the government, they actually don't have any knowledge of the responsibilities of the government and the current performance of the government. So the question is that if people don't know their rights and the government doesn't maintain transparency, then what happens to happen? I think the government should be responsible for some major responsibilities, like providing free education, healthcare, technology, and proper security of life. And the important thing is to maintain the rule of law in all sectors. In our country, the government promises many deals but doesn't implement even one sector completely, so in this case, people must know their legal rights and know the legal ways to resolve their issues.

The government is always accountable for how it uses public resources and is also punctual in providing evidence about its actions. But in our country, people are uneducated and there are no proper regulations, so among us, educated people should differentiate the diplomatic duties and responsibilities of government. So ordinary individuals actually know what they demand from the government.

In current era, thanks to internet and social media, citizen are more aware of their right than ever before. They are well aware of what government ought to do. The issue lies not in public awareness but rather in weaknesses of institution. If judiciary or media cannot function impartially then even if citizen are aware, scope for raising question or effecting change become extremely limited.

It is not always possible for government to conduct all its affair in strict accordance with constitution. Constitution envision an ideal framework for achieving full employment. However it is not possible for any government in the world to fully guarantee this. Due to global economic crises and resource constraint government often cannot manage everything, even if they wish to. bureaucratic complexities are also responsible for such situation.

Rather than labeling this a failure or act of disregarding the constitution, it should be viewed as limitation. Fundamentally every government strives to ensure well-being and complete security of its people.

I don't know why you are concerned about the duties of the government. We give the government too many relevance that is why they are misbehaving. We also have our individual roles as citizens and we are still part of the government so before we ask what the duty of the government are, we should first ask ourselves what we are doing to help the country. If we do some certains things that are supposed to be done by the government, they will become ashamed of themselves.

You are right on spot because currently mostly elected, non elected and fascist governments are doing this their agenda is same but way of killing us and collecting taxes are different while no one is ow living with freedom they can enter anytime into your room and can do what they want.
Last few years are worst for human rights and many other things because things are getting worst day by day and common peoples are suffering badly in many countries they are having names and faces different but their job is same in many countries.
Third-world countries are having it worse because here no one is able to talk about their issues or have any chance of making noise for them as well.

The governments we have today tend to be universally unique in corruption. Several governments don't care about the core reason why they were put in that position and this is because the system is more corrupt and with or without the citizens, they will have their way back into the seat. The many rights of citizens are denied, no basic infrastructure, no education, no health care and what have you.

A government is the chief custodian of the security architect of its jurisdiction. But nowadays, those that are charged to provide security are the ones killing us and causing religious bigotry to cause civil unrest for their selfish reasons. The hope is shaky and the trust in this so called government is lost. Perhaps a segment of the western world still enjoys good leadership but not in most developing and third world countries.

If you as a person hire and employ a security guard to watch over your property and he falls asleep all night and at his watch thieves storm into you compound and you got robbed, that doesn't mean that you will start doing the guarding yourself just to make him feel bad or regrets, you be the boss and sack him instantly and demand for some retributions. The citizens need to do away with that soft mentality of covering for government officials' laziness and start demanding true accountability for every single penny collected.

It is easy to achieve this when you don’t diverse ethnicity in your country, but if your country have diverse ethnicity, it will be very difficult for the citizens to speak in one voice and demand for accountability from the government. The region that produces the sitting president will never agree to join the other regions that are clamoring for accountability.

This is the situation in my country, even when the insecurity has tripled in this current administration, the economy has become worse, inflation is very high right now more than any previous administrations, yet when there are call for the government to do better, the people from the president region will kick against those saying the government is not doing well. Even when the other regions organize to protest for accountability, the government will sponsor thugs to come hijack the entire process and cause chaos, from there they will release the police and military to come chase everyone away. It is never an easy thing for citizens to unite a demand for accountability from the government.

The government is delaying the fulfillment of its duties.Even where governments do perform their functions corruption remains rampant.If facilities for the public welfare and betterment are not provided citizens will come to regret their votes as the very tasks for which they elected their leaders remain unfulfilled.The poor are disproportionately affected by these issues; while the wealthy can use their financial resources to secure conveniences for themselves the underprivileged rely on government decisions and their actual implementation. Therefore to ensure national progress and public well being the government must fulfill its obligations and eradicate corruption.

There is every need to hold the government responsible if they can't provide all of these you mentioned because that's part of their duty, the interest of the citizens need to come first. People in government are not seeing them self as servents they forgot they are public servants that are supposed to serve her citizens very well, most of the countries now the government don't even care how the people that put them to those positions are feeling, sometimes they feel like they just get in to power by just them self forgetting that people supported them to be in those positions all they care about is them self and how they embezzle money.

The main reason why governments forget their responsibilities is the greed for power and lack of accountability, even though the common people know about their rights, they are not always in a position to protest. When a daily wage earner returns home at night after working hard all day, he has no time to think about the constitution or the responsibilities of the government.  And politicians are busy using this opportunity to fill their pockets. When the common people are hungry, the talk of realizing their rights is actually stuck in the pages of books.

It is not in all countries that government deviate from their primary responsibility, in a developed and good country the government usually do not deviate from their primary responsibility they perform their duty according to the constitution, in some countries citizen's life and property are well protected and they provide basic amenities to the citizens however in other countries the government usually deviate from their primary responsibility they don't even care about the citizens and the citizens are not even questioning them because they are afraid of the government.

Every government knows what they should do those that are not doing it are not interested in development and a better nation.

You’re very correct. Citizens really need to understand what government is supposed to do for them. Government are not only there to make laws or even to only collect taxes. They’ve primary responsibilities which are, To provide basic infrastructure, protect lives and properties, provide jobs and many more.

Most times government can deviate from all this responsibilities and citizens may not even question them because they don’t even know their rights or even the duties of government. Knowing all this responsibilities is very essential so that they can hold government accountable.

Exactly I feel the same way. A lot of people complain about how things are going, but they don’t really know what the government are supposed to be doing in the first place.when citizens understand their rights and what they should expect from those in power, they can ask right questions and demand accountability.it’s not about fighting the government it’s also making sure leaders actually serve the people and do the job they were elected to do.

I think greed is not the only main reason but however the poor Judicial system of the country is the problem while those things are happening because if the Judiciary is very effective to there duties for the country know Matter the high level of greed a politician would have they will not be able to use it against the country in terms of steeling what they have because the judiciary would always defend the country from those people but unfortunately most country judicial system are working with the greedy leaders so that's why a government will toss away their primary duties to loot money and nobody will hold them accountable.
