When it comes to Bitcoin, one of the first questions people usually ask is:
Where will the price go next?

However, understanding the Bitcoin market should not be limited to price movements alone.

The Bitcoin market is influenced by many different factors, and the importance of each factor can change from one market cycle to another. Some of the key areas to watch include ETF flows, exchange balances, long-term holder behavior, miner activity, derivatives positioning, liquidity, network activity, and macroeconomic conditions.
It is also important to understand the reason behind a price movement.

For example, Bitcoin's price may rise because of strong spot demand or because of increased leverage. Although the price is rising in both cases, the underlying market conditions can be very different.
Similarly, a decrease in the amount of BTC held on exchanges should not automatically be considered bullish. We also need to understand why BTC is leaving exchanges and what other market signals are showing at the same time.

For this reason, I believe it is more useful to observe multiple indicators together rather than relying on a single metric.

For those who follow these factors closely, I'd like to ask:

If you had to monitor Bitcoin metrics besides price, which areas would you focus on, and why? What are the limitations of the metrics you rely on?
More importantly, what combination of signals would make you change your current interpretation of the market?
I'd be interested in hearing both technical and fundamental perspectives.

You should be interested in actually believing in Bitcoin, because you have all this metrics to worry about if you actually don't believe in Bitcoin, a true Bitcoin enthusiast already have made the decision to accumulate Bitcoin as much as they can and also have an emergency fund and for their personal lives.

Bitcoin isn't an alt coin where you have to always be on the edge expecting it to fall off. For me it is more important to focus on securing your Bitcoin than all this metrics that could easily be influenced by FUD or FOMO.

For me the price ratio between crypto gold and crypto silver (BTC/LTC) is very important. It is one important indicator of Bitcoin relative price (relative to altcoins).

Is it important to know all that you mentioned in the OP, when you're not a trader, I don't think so. No matter you information or knowledge on those factors that affects bitcoin price movement, it doesn't mean that you will know the next price movement of bitcoin because it's unpredictable. You might feel that there will be a pump but it ends up being the opposite.

No need of stressing yourself that much to know about the market condition if you can only change your mindset from a trader to a long term investor. You have nothing to worry about as a long term investor but how to keep your bitcoin accumulation ongoing regardless the market noise. If you want to outsmart the market in a short time, you might run at loss.

I don't see much connection between the name of your thread and the comment you described. Because you mentioned an investor in your thread name but your description mentions trading. When a person is involved in trading or wants to trade, they need to know all these things. An investor doesn't need much of this.

The things that an investor needs to know while buying Bitcoin are, discretionary income, trust in Bitcoin, wallets and exchangers, understanding of the Bitcoin network, what threats may arise for Bitcoin in the future, etc. All these are things that a person needs to know. When a person knows about all these things, he can definitely start investing and hopefully be able to hold it for the long term.

None of the above.

I invest in Bitcoin because of its intrinsic properties. Because it’s a decentralized, autonomous system that, unlike altcoins, wasn’t pre-mined. Because it’s very difficult to confiscate and very easy to transport and transfer, especially when it comes to medium to large amounts, compared to other assets.

The price rises were what first drew me to it, but its features are what make me HODL it.

No one have a direct answer to this, but we are free to give some possible indications that may show a particular direction to what we should expect from the market, this is why we keep on speculating in order to ensure that we understand the market performance and the possible bearing it is taken at any given time.

We are not also doing this as a kind of trial by error method, but there is close proximity to being accurate when used speculate and predict the market with the necessary information you have gathered and the understanding you have towards the market season and your bitcoin network all together.

I agree with you that trying to predict every small movement in the market for a long term Bitcoin investor often creates unnecessary stress. It is not possible to predict the price of Bitcoin. It is foolish to think that any signal or any change in world politics or economy will change the price of Bitcoin a lot. Because the price of Bitcoin now changes depending on many things. It is impossible to understand which one is actually the main reason. And I do not see any need for an investor to be a trader who will always worry about the short term price volatility of Bitcoin. And if you try to make market predictions, success in Bitcoin depends on the right decision. A wrong decision can cause huge losses. Long term investors observe the price but they do not change their decisions according to the price. So, it can be a good thing for an investor to learn to understand market conditions because it creates ideas and knowledge about many things, but it is not right to change your investment decisions or divert yourself from investing to short term trading depending on market conditions.
