The 21 TB of data required 186 reels when they were deposited in July 2020. They were transported to Longyearbyen, Svalbard, and placed in the Arctic World Archive, a facility located in a former coal mine. GitHub describes the site as being deeply buried in an Arctic mountain and protected by permafrost.

Bitcoin is therefore literally sleeping in the Arctic.
