Someone and I were discussing about trading, he told me what some other traders have told me before. I told him it is the reason he is losing while trading. He wants to double his money within a month. Is this possible? Yes, but the probability of losing is very high.
You have $100 to trade but you want to earn $3 from it every day to make it $100 monthly. That looks small, but when you begin to trade, you will understand that it is not easy to achieve that. Are you achieving it?
I prefer 5x annually. That means from $100, you need to make a profit or $1.1 daily. But I also like 2x which is $0.55 profit daily. Which means patience and using low amount of money to trade.
Do you think he is right but not just understand how to make 2x return monthly?
The daily profit that I mean is totally monthly profit divided by 30 or total annual profit divided by 365.
I don't think this is anything you can predict, dismiss or count on. I mean you can set targets, that won't hurt anyone, but cashing out just because those targets fill up seems weird. There has been few days when i made more profit then i had made in a whole year. Purely because i was counting on marketcap being too low, and chart was looking it got life. I am not saying that hold to the moon, but at least try to ride to the top with something left in your bags. Reasons for losing trades are always coming in hindsight, and they only exist afterwards. They don't exist when price hasn't dropped yet so there's really no "right" moves.

He can achieve that in a single month, but with that, the risk will be at its maximum. He has to cover the position, timing, and, most importantly, emotional control. After that, he can use high leverage to potentially gain profits in a month the way he wants. However, the risk is also present the higher the amount he uses for profit, the greater the risk of loss. If he adopts his friend's approach, then I think it will be safer for him. To be profitable in trading, you have to wait, like catching a fish in a pond. It may take time, but it will give you a good, safe return.

Trading is very risky and any situation can arise at any time. It may not be possible to be successful by trading in this way with the daily and monthly calculations as mentioned here because anything can happen at any time due to market volatility on the trading platform. However, it is wise to make small profits with small amounts of money on the trading platform because if there is a loss, it will go through a small amount of money and not through a large amount of money.

There is no need to measure how many returns you want to get within a specified time frame. When you start counting dates on your profits, it makes you trade outside your strategy, all because you need to catch up with the profits according to how you have planned and dated to make returns.
When you are so desperate to make money when trading, then you might just end up doing things which you are not suppose to do. As a trader, you shouldn’t make it compulsory that you are suppose to make a specific amount of money within a specific period of time. If you make it compulsory that you should make a certain amount of money, any day which you don’t meet you, you might just end up getting frustrated, and you going to make decisions which you are not suppose to make just to meet up with the standard which you set for yourself, which might end up spoiling everything for you. Trade the market when there is opening, instead of chasing daily profit, that's how you survive without draining your funds.
when you are trading, you can’t be making profits everyday, you are suppose to trade only when you know that the market is favorable, whenever you are not so sure of the direction which the market is going to go, then it’s better you don’t enter a trade during that period of time, trade when you know the market is favorable.

He wants to double his money within a month. Is this possible? Yes, but the probability of losing is very high. If a trader thinks he will make money quickly and double his money, it is very risky, although it is possible many times but most of the time he has to face losses. However, I think that if someone can trade with a good strategy and efficiently, he can double his money within a month, but there is a big risk here. You have $100 to trade but you want to earn $3 from it every day to make it $100 monthly. That looks small, but when you begin to trade, you will understand that it is not easy to achieve that. Are you achieving it?
If I have $100 and I can make another $100 from it after a month, it can be a lot of luck and good market timing. But I can see that most of the time with $100, I make $3 a day, making $100 is very difficult because it is really hard to make a profit consistently. Although it may sound easy because making $3 a day doesn't sound hard, it becomes difficult when you have to earn it. I prefer 5x annually. That means from $100, you need to make a profit or $1.1 daily. But I also like 2x which is $0.55 profit daily. Which means patience and using low amount of money to trade. If you trade with a strategy of making five times a year profit, it is less risky, if you make a small amount of money every day from $ 100 and do not take large risks, then your chances of losing money will be low. If you trade patiently, the chances of losing are low and the chances of winning are high, but in trading, it is always best to enter the market with a small amount of money. Do you think he is right but not just understand how to make 2x return monthly?
The daily profit that I mean is totally monthly profit divided by 30 or total annual profit divided by 365.
I think that person is wrong because it is very difficult to double your money by trading in a month. If that person had been trading with experience and strategy, he would not have faced losses, however, trading twice a month can be a big risk and cause losses. However, it is best to trade patiently, if you can make some profit with a small amount of money per month, it can be seen that the annual income is a lot, in that case it is not good to be overly greedy. In trading, it is better to start with a small amount of money, if you expect more profit with extra money, the possibility of loss is high.

Well, this all depends on what the profit margin is, doubling his money within a month is a 100 percent profit, in my opinion this is something that can be achieved within a month but the strategy used actually plays an important role in this. Most traders that have such target usually trade with a huge capital but a low leverage and other means of risk management, this is done to reduce the risks and makes it possible or increases the chances of making profits. But just because this is a safe target doesn't mean that it's completely risk free, he might still end up losing his capital.

If you use huge capital, but a low leverage, that means it might be difficult to get 100% of you trading capital as profit within one month. And if the person is greedy and increase the leverage, the person can become emotional and later lose more money in a way he will regret trading. The person can think of volatile coins, but that could the worst mistake he might make.

People that doesn’t trade don’t actually understand how trading works and they always felt they could make a profitable entries without strategies, trading isn’t gambling where luck can save us most of the time. In trading the more we have a reliable strategy the more we stand the chance of making profits even if not all the time but at least some of the time. Consistency can make us profitable but we need to consider other factors too and not just rely on consistency alone because it can’t save us through the journey. And you made a good point that patient is very important for a trader and as a trader when we don’t have the patient then we will always keep making hasty choices.
You said it all, that consistency is the key to any profitable trading. There is no way you will trade once in a while without being consistent, and you will expect profit making.Trading requires regular attention, regular timing, being present at it at all time and continues commitment to it. This is very much true because most time that we trade, and we don't give our energy or attention into that particular project, it ends up in disaster. This is applicable to everything human does too. Trading is not something you will have a nonchalant attitude towards, it's something you need to always dedicate yourself while on it because if you fail to give yourself and time to it, there is every tendency that you will be losing your money. But that does not mean we have to keep trading every once in a while just in order to make profits or remain in profits. Consistency is the key but only while you are learning. When it comes to trading, I do not prefer being consistent but only opening a few trades in a month where I can actually make any profits. If any new traders reads this, they would think they have to be consistent when opening positions no matter if they end up in profit or loss. For these new traders, this is not the way things work. Be consistent only while learning how to trade. I think not consistency but patience if the key when it comes to trading. We can open one position but might need to wait for days/weeks or even months before we can close that position. Consistency would not be of much help here but patience would.

A good trader never want to get 100% profit within a month because to achieve such amount of profit one has to take huge risks and huge risks = huge losses along the way. A good trader tries to make less but consistent profit over time and such a trader is never in hurry to make 2x the initial deposit in a month or in 6 months. The ones who use high leverage to get higher profits are the ones who lose most money in trading. So a better approach is to earn less but consistent profits from trading not to earn huge profits in short time.

It doesn't matter how you are doing the calculations, but as long as it's trading you are talking about, you first need to understand that even though your daily targets is $1 while using $1000 to trade, it's not possible to win every trade in any stipulated timeframe. In trading you might use just an hour or a day to lose all your have managed to make in a month or week, so it's not a wise approach in my own opinion. I think that what makes you profitable in trading is the size of amount you make when the trade goes in your favour, because when it's goes against you, their are chances that your losing might even discourage you to trade again, so I don't buys into his idea.

I feel like the more important factor is that devotion don't not necessarily mean that a person should sit in front of the chart day after day. Even if a trader spends countless hours watching the market closely, they will not be successful if they do not have a proper trading plan behind them.
Sometimes it's important to be patient enough to wait for a good buy and sell opportunity, and to be wise enough not to make a trade if the opportunity isn't there. Yeah it's true that attention is required in trading but the same goes discipline and knowing when to stay away.
Exactly, A trader must know when to buy, sell and when to stay out of the market. These are principles he must learn to abide with because it isn't all the time that opportunities are present. If he can't spot an opportunity in the market,it is better he stays off and then continues another day. A trader needs to be very active, he has to be monitoring the market most of the time because an opportunity to buy or sell can present itself at anytime, if he is not actively monitoring the markets,he will surely missed lots of opportunities that he could have capitalised on to make money. So, as long as he is active, consistent, discipline and have a good plan, he will surely make money in trading.

The market is open to whatever strategy you want to use and what leverage you wish to run your trades with, but be aware of the traps continuous winnings can cause when you don't take caution even with the little leverage or trading capital. It is better to have a set trading limit and when it is met, you close for the time being.

I prefer 4x annually. That means from $100, you need to make a profit or $1.1 daily. But I also like 2x which is $0.55 profit daily. Which means patience and using low amount of money to trade.
Your math is wrong. If you prefer 4x annually, that means $300 in profit, and if you divide that by 365, that's only around $0.82 daily. And you cannot really compute daily profit as if it's guaranteed. Better just focus on the long term since you are talking about one year. If you look at it daily, sometimes you are in profit and sometimes you are in loss, so it doesn't really make sense to expect a fixed amount every day. Just go for the long term, evaluate after a year, and see if you really hit the target. Yes, I completely agree with your assumption. It's true that day trading is incredibly mentally draining, especially if we have to determine the day's profit, which will obviously make things even more stressful. So, with that in mind, I think when trading, we shouldn't focus too much on goals like this. While it's true that we should have a definite goal, in trading we need to be calmer and avoid rushing. Trading is inherently brutal. Therefore, I personally think that if you enjoy day trading, it's better not to set a profit limit, but rather to focus on risk management. Essentially, you should set your own rules, limiting your daily losses. For example, in one day, you might only risk two percent of your trading assets. So, if you lose two percent that day, you shouldn't trade until the next day. But if you do manage to make a profit that day, it's up to you whether you want to continue trading. But the point is, don't set too high a target for how much profit you should get that day, because that's mentally torturous, believe me. Day trading had never been a piece of pie. Yes, a lot of people are still attracted to day trading but only because they think they can make quick profits for the day and have a nice evening. These people do not consider the risks involved. In markets like cryptocurrency, the prices can get really volatile which can only increase the risk. In order to make profits day trading, once needs to incubate patience and the right skills. Just rushing towards the markets and thinking we can make a few bucks within a few minutes of opening the trade is not going to help us. Day traders are the ones who treat trading as their full-time job. We can't manage to make profits from day-trading if we check the charts just a few times in a day. We need to constantly keep monitoring the charts until the position is closed so day-trading is a bit exhausting for me.

You are correct mate, good strategy will always result in good results, that is why it is important at all time to always look for different winning strategies so that if Plan A fails, plan B will always work, whatever plan that fails, the other should be there to make it work out fine. And furthermore, in strategies backed with patience and experience will make it more sensible and better in producing results. Trading most times need someone who has had numerous experiences of the course, backed by financial capacity to ensure every successful trade comes out with huge profit because it capital was huge. If I have the resources to trade, I will definitely be thinking big and ensure every trading section is carefully done to avoid had I know.

I disagree with you about good strategy always results in good results, good strategy doesn’t always result in good results because if that how it’s is then you can’t tell me that many traders doesn’t have good strategy, and if they don’t let talk about the professional traders you can’t tell me that this professional traders doesn’t have good strategies, but why do they keep facing losses when they have good strategies? They have good strategies and that why they are called professional traders but still they faces losses because it’s inevitable so I totally disagree with you. Good strategy doesn’t mean we have guarantee of making profits always, good strategy increases our chances of success in trading and making profitable entries but it doesn’t stop us from not facing losses. The market is volatile so the movement can’t be predicted at all time because sometimes sudden market crashes occurs either inducement or unforeseen buys or sells by bigger companies.

Trading at a specific time does not guarantee profit and the risk of losing money increases twofold, because the market will never be stable according to our plan, the market will move at its own pace, so there is no guarantee that our plan or strategy will work correctly within a specific time. To reduce the risk of losing money through trading, it is very important to control your emotions, stay within your means, enter the market at the right time with the right knowledge and plan, and exit the market by controlling your emotions or greed.
You said trading at a specific time does not guarantee a profit which might be true or slightly untrue in my own opinion but then you now also said one should enter the market at the right time? I’m trying to figure out the difference between entering a trade at a specific time versus entering at a time you consider as the right time? Is the right time also not being specific? I am asking in order for me and others here to able to distinguish the differences especially in the context of a trader. I think he wants to say that trading at any specific time of the day daily would not guarantee a profit. I have seen this mostly in the forex markets when the Australian markets open, there is usually some good spread and profit making opportunities. But that is only because forex markets does not operate 24/7 and have a fixed duration where they would stay open. But when it comes to cryptos, the markets are always open so I can hardly find any such way to make profits so I think that might be true. Yes, I do find some opportunities right before the weekends but that pattern is not specific and changes over time so I do not really look for any such patterns of time but would analyse the charts because that makes me take way better decisions.

It is true that trading does not always guarantee profit to anyone. Especially the crypto market is very volatile, if you want to make a profit here, you have to be patient in trading. The forex market and the crypto market are not completely the same, although the subject here is trading, the structure and strategy are different. However, no type of trading gives anyone the opportunity to make a special profit for trading at a specific time. If you can do good analysis and have enough patience, you can gradually achieve profit. However, profit is not always like this, sometimes there will be a loss, sometimes there will be a profit, and some profit will remain in the profit and loss average. Some traders cannot only make a profit. However, there are some opportunities that can be used to maintain a good profit, but not everyone can do that.

The daily profit that I mean is totally monthly profit divided by 30 or total annual profit divided by 365.
I agree with your perspective on patience and realistic expectations. While it's certainly possible to multiply one’s money in a single month, chasing such a target often leads to overtrading and unnecessary risk taking. In fact, even a 2x or 5x return over the course of a year cant be guaranteed, and achieving consistent daily profits is far more difficult. The key lies not in how much profit we aim to make each day, but rather in how well we manage risk, protect our capital, and maintain discipline over time. Survival is the top priority; growth will follow.

It is not possible for someone to be making profit from trading at all time even if they are professional traders. The most important thing is our ability to manage risk and reduce or minimise losses. Making good analysis doesn't automatically guarantee profit, but rather it can help you to take good decisions. Trading without a clear plan or taking unnecessary risk is mostly what makes traders to lose money and not because they lack patience alone. The best thing is for you to focus on how to manage your losses rather than chasing profit from every market trends.

I like how you ended your post because what you first posted is not true for most traders. It will look as it it is easy to earn huge amount of money from trading but when the trader is losing, he will understand that trading is not easy at all than for greedy people to lose money. As for me I do not consider even patient trading at all, trading is very risky. All money put on trading should be small because all can be lost within a short period of time.
