Do gambling-related websites need a separate news section?

Lately I’ve been thinking about how gambling-related websites handle different types of content. Reviews and in-depth articles are one thing, but short updates feel more natural in a separate feed, so I ended up adding a dedicated news section to LuckAtlas: https://luckatlas.com/en/media-room/

I also made the project multilingual, so anyone who prefers a different language can switch it from the menu.

Curious what people here think — do you actually read short news updates on sites like this, or mostly visit them for reviews and longer articles? And does keeping the news separate make things easier to navigate, or is it just another section you’d probably ignore?

I don't know, if this should be on the Gambling board or the Service board? It's a good idea, though. Since it's a casino review site, I think news about casinos and gambling-related topics can fit there. I was looking at some of the interesting news posted there, and I think it would also be helpful for gamblers to know about what's happening with the casinos they normally play on.

I really do think it's a creative and helpful idea. Most people don't even spend extra time to check casino they use or if there are new developments and I think this will help keep them updated about various casinos. For sport betting platforms you will discover that they have a section for sport news and I think it can also be implemented for casinos.the news at a glance will help prevent quick exhaustion from continuous scrolling of long article news update

There's no problem separating news from articles, since in the news section you're publicizing events and updates, for example. But you could also keep them in a single section and distinguish them with tags or categories if you're using WordPress on your site. That might even be better for SEO.

But personally, I don't really go to other websites when checking casino news, updates, or reputation because almost everything is already here in the forum. I usually just check the casino ANN threads, there are already lots of links and discussions about the casino there.

And if we want to check their reputation, we can simply look at their account profile and see if there are any scam accusations against them. That's how simple it is here. But I don't discourage you, because there are still users who don't know this forum yet and they might eventually land on your website.

This is a good thread but I don't know how you can keep it going so that it doesn't get ignored like you rightly said.
So I don't know if you are asking for a separate sub section for gambling news feed and that could originate from the meta section. But otherwise, this is resourceful for gamblers who want to check on the latest news updates and what reviews on the casinos they are playing with instead of sourcing for such information outside the forum.

I want to understand the type of news that should be in a gambling related website and why you think that is necessary. Every casino have two major of communicating their customers and that is through in-platform notification and through emails. If there is any new development that their users need to know, they will be notified through those means. Apart from that, I don't know what other news is needed in a gambling related site.

Maybe it would make sense to change the page background to something less colorful? Reading white text on such a background isn’t very pleasant. The idea of having a news column about the world of gambling and betting is actually quite good for a rating website.

I can't say how many people follow gambling related news, but to be honest, I never do unless it's interesting news, like someone winning a big jackpot or someone losing a big amount. Sometimes I see such news on social media, so I read it. Moreover, I don't follow any site where I go to read gambling news. But having a gambling news portal specifically is not bad, many people might like it and go there to read the news. You might get good traffic if you continue to promote your platform. Good luck

To be honest I usually skip short news updates on review sites unless I'm looking for a specific bonus or a platform update, but separating them into their own feed is the right move. Cluttering up a review site with a messy news stream ruins the layout so keeping it tucked away in a media room or news section keeps things clean for people who just want the core reviews.

Quick question though: are you updating that news feed manually or running some kind of automated curation for it?

I usually go for short articles. It's not just short news because they go into some depth about stats and other things that connect to the game.

Now, if you are just going to focus on gambling news, there might be a shortage of it at some point. Even if those are just short news stories that are gambling-related, there are very few reports about it. Sports gambling, on the other hand, is vast. You might end up filling the website with different news and updates. But what about sources? It could be trouble if they want a part of whatever you make. Here in the forum, we only quote and add the links, but only short ones.

In general gambling sites separate their news/ads across several review sites it is better for their own casinos in promoting their gambling sites.

So it's not surprising that we often see news/advertisements on gambling sites everywhere, as well as casinos in LuckAtlas reviews, we also often find them in other reviews such as Cryptonews, Casinos Blockhain and so on.

I only look for news or updates when I am following a certain event.  Most of the time, I visit for reviews and some serious articles. I am not fond of longer articles, though.  

Keeping things in place makes the access easier.  Separating news from longer articles makes the site look neat and easier for the reader to navigate since if the reader wanted news, they can just go to the news section, and the same thing if they wanted an article.  Reviews should also have their own section.

I mostly visit websites like that one you have worked on in order to take a look at review and also take a look at longer articles about specific issues and matters within gambling industry. I don't worry about quick updates or followups.

I would say you are just supposed to do your think and see what works the best to you and your webpage, in the end, the opinion of a handful of people is not supposed to influence on what could be a good feature on your webpage. You just implement it and then seek for data to know whether the feature was a success or not.

As a sports bettor, I am more interested in sports-related news. I do read short sports news from different platforms. I checked the first page of the website, and most of the articles don't really interest me. Updates on football clubs in different leagues would have gotten my attention more. I am not writing off your project because it could also be helpful to others who have an interest in the areas it covers.

The only time i could remember following gambling related news, is from my initial stages of gambling and by the time i know my in and out about gambling, i don't push of more about gambling related news, unless the news i do listen every morning we're at the end of all news, they will still talk about sports news, so going to any site just to read news concerning gambling, i don't really do that because there are some information in some sites that is not really story, it will be a welcome  development, if definitely a gambling related website will be created for gamblers to visit and gets updated on gambling related news.

I thought the news would redirect me to a different website but no, it just open up on the platform itself which is good but the background is too annoying, not suitable for reading so redesign in and keep it simple/blank for a comfortable user experience. I doubt it is much of a help for an actual sport bettor who analysis multiple news about the particular event rather than a brief explanation of few lines.
