Do such statements still exist? The last time I heard anyone seriously claim that "Bitcoin is dead" was in 2021; since then, the markets have embraced it, despite some labeling it a bubble. Therefore, anyone saying "Bitcoin is dead" is someone who hasn't updated their information in the last three years.
People still say it. I remember seeing some Bitcoin critic say this when Bitcoin went below $60k recently. I see statements like this in so many words from time to time too. They don't say it when the price is pumping, instead, what they say then is the usual "it's not profitable" and all. I think there was even a post on this forum where a billionaire said he was selling all his Bitcoin because he doesn't believe in it anymore or something like that, because it did not perform as much as he expected during the war between the US and Iran. According to him, Bitcoin was supposed to be the safe haven at that time, but it wasn't. People still make those statements, even though it's not exactly this way.

People who hate, dislike Bitcoin will feel happy when witnessing Bitcoin price drops, crashes, corrections, bear markets and they will try to take advantage of such market volatile times to attack Bitcoin. People who like Bitcoin, invest money in Bitcoin, but want to amplify effects on Bitcoin market for their bitcoin accumulations, will try to take advantage of such times too. Their sayings are not for attacking Bitcoin, but for creating and amplifying panic in the market with purpose of getting cheaper prices for their purchases. Bitcoin does not care about those people, it simply grows in its ways and both value, price and trading volume have become bigger with time. Investors win on the long term if they can buy, hold a long time.

Yeah even though the 'Bitcoin is dead' claims have dropped a lot, they have not disappeared completely. People still say this whenever Bitcoin take a big hit or fails to live up to their expectations. According to Bitcoindeaths, Bitcoin has been declared dead 478time, so far, including 24 time this year alone. Unsurprisingly, most of the noise still comes from perpetual bears and classic critics like Peter Schiff. bitcoindeaths.com

Considering the way the time these FUD attacks on bitcoin, I think they don't necessarily "hate" bitcoin. They may not have any particular feelings toward it either. They definitely love fiat and profit though. That's why they are doing it with perfect timing. That's part of the market manipulation.

It's funny how those who publicly claim to dislike Bitcoin and earn fiat money with it sometimes actually hold Bitcoin themselves. I'll point out in advance that here, in the country where I live, all government agencies condemn Bitcoin. So, here was a case: the head of the investigative department, who and his subordinates confiscated Bitcoin from a Bitcoiner during their investigation, kept the Bitcoin for themselves. During a search of his Apple MacBook Pro laptop, investigators actually found a folder with the telling name "Pension," which contained seed phrases for crypto wallets. It contained 2,700 Bitcoins. He was sentenced to 16 years in a maximum-security penal colony and a fine of 500 million rubles, and all the bitcoins found were confiscated by the state. Ironic. https://www.kommersant.ru/doc/7214465That's why both government officials and journalists may criticize Bitcoin. But in reality, it sometimes turns out that they prefer to store their assets in it.

The crazy part about this information is that Forbes can be slowly accumulating Bitcoin since they started talking bad about Bitcoin, I believe that some organisations already knew about the future potential of Bitcoin.
They knew so early and they took their time to slowly bought some, Forbes is powerful enough and the media was available already to create chaos if needed, so I'd say we should stop trusting bad news about Bitcoin from people who should know better.
And I believe they know better, they just pretend to not know better.

We just assume that everyone who criticizes Bitcoin "hates" Bitcoin forgetting that away from hate, some people just don't believe in it and that's very much okay. That said, the urge to appear to be right with the "Bitcoin is dead" narrative have somehow turned what was supposed to be an argument to something personal for some people. They've shifted from being sceptical in their analysis of the market to being emotionally attached to their personal sentiment and waiting for a particular outcome that'll validate their long term stance.

It's true and in my post, I said there are two different types of people who called "Bitcoin is dead" and it's not necessarily that they did not have any knowledge or enough knowledge about Bitcoin, or hate Bitcoin. They could make such calls simply to do their investment more easily and economically by trying to create chances with cheaper prices for buying bitcoin from people who panic sold. With people who did such calls in the past but recent years or in the future changed and will change to be Bitcoin investors, I don't mind to attack them. I believe we can feel happy when there are more people changed their mindset about Bitcoin, and become Bitcoiners. It's part of Bitcoin adoption and it's donation for us, who already invested money in bitcoin a little bit earlier.

Yes. Such statements still exist. In fact, according to https://bitcoindeaths.com/, only in 2026, this type of statement was given 24 times. And a total of 478 times since 2010. But at this point, I believe anyone who gives such statements already know from their heart that bitcoin is not dead and not going to die anytime in future. but they still give such statements because these kind of statements tend to go viral often, they are good for publicity.

It's not too surprising because bear markets are always better time for fuds than bull markets, logically during bear market there are more fuds and more "Bitcoin is dead" statements. Let's check the table with years and "# of deaths" with Bitcoin yearly candle chart. https://charts.bitbo.io/yearly-candles/https://bitcoindeaths.com/bitcoin-death-statisticsI take red candles as the most bearish years and highlight those years with red color in the table. | Year | Deaths | | 2026 | 24 | | 2025 | 34 | | 2024 | 10 | | 2023 | 14 | | 2022 | 27 | | 2021 | 39 | | 2020 | 20 | | 2019 | 40 | | 2018 | 74 | | 2017 | 93 | | 2016 | 23 | | 2015 | 29 | | 2014 | 24 | | 2013 | 20 | | 2012 | 0 | | 2011 | 6 | | 2010 | 1 |
It's like fact that Peter Schiff leads the "Bitcoin is dead" statement board. | Rank | Critic | Deaths Declared |

This is what they do and not only Forbes, so many institutions are having Bitcoin but they don't reveal it to the public that they have Bitcoin on their reserve. When Donald Trump used to be in power, he hated Bitcoin, I don't know how reasons but later, he launched NFTs on Ethereum chain and all were sold out in minutes. It was from that moment many people knew he was coming for crypto, many are creating wealth with Bitcoin but are hypocrite to defend it. Sometimes they are afraid of what validation from other people will do to them. They fear if they endorse Bitcoin, something will happen to their reputation and the fear of governments, they don't like government coming for them because they are not doing the right thing the government want. They can even lose their relevance, that is what many of them fear.

Regulated financial institutions in particular won't want to take a public stand against government policies. Because if they don't oppose them publicly then their business will be damaged and if a decentralized system like Bitcoin becomes popular, it will work against them. So they don't publicly promote Bitcoin even if they invest in Bitcoin. On the other hand, the history of Bitcoin is a revolutionary history. It doesn't depend on the policies or beliefs of any individual or institutions. Therefore, whether someone believes in Bitcoin or not, someone's personal opinion doesn't control the Bitcoin network. Those who are ignoring Bitcoin today may change their position in the future but Bitcoin should be evaluated on the basis of its technology, limited supply, decentralization and long-term acceptability. So, It doesn't matter to Bitcoin who supports it and who doesn't. Bitcoin remains unaffected either way.
