Of course People are responsible for their own actions but institutions and rules also influence people's behavior. Suppose there are two places where the same bribery opportunity exists, In one place if you get caught, the punishment is severe and in another, no one is properly monitoring. Even if two people have the same character, the risk of their behavior may not be the same.  This is where institutions really become important. So just as it is not right to blame society entirely, it is also not right to blame only the individual and avoid the weaknesses of the structure, I think the solution is to work on both sides, holding the individual accountable and creating institutions where both the opportunity and the benefits of being dishonest are reduced.

In our society and institutional system, one thing is very common for workers, and that is bribery, and we also know that every individual is responsible for their own actions. In daily routine our behavior represents our daily activities like if we have bad gathering we take bribes thinking that nobody can monitor us. At the same time if our gathering is honest then we take bribes as a sin. What's your opinion about the corrupted society like who is responsible for that institutes or workers or civilians?

I think we should not blame institutions or workers because gathering is a matter of honest people remaining honest, and criminals remain defaulters even when they go to the justice department. But Better dicsions and strong polices always leads the system towards repairing and progress. So gradually we feel our society is peaceful. But for that we should work on both side because if companies pay a good package that is enough to meet the daily needs  then what's problem which force a worker towards bribe on the other hand workers also take care of their own dignity and thier company honour.

I totally agree with you on this. Society isn’t corrupt by itself, it’s people that make the choice of what happens in the society.  Laws, courts and different institutions are created in order, but if people choose to abuse it for their personal gain it’s their actions that causes the problem in the society.

For me, rather than blaming the society, we are supposed to hold individuals responsible and demand integrity from those that are in charge of those institutions. I see society as a mirror it mostly reflects the main actions and character of those that are inside of it.

This is my stance, what makes the society corrupt, of course the people there in, the people are the problem of the society, can the society become a society without the people being there.
I don't want get myself confused, but all I know is that, the corruption the world, mostly Africans are facing today can be attributed to societal or individual, and whichever way anyone wants to twist it, as long as someone aren't condemning what he sees as corruption, whether you are in support or not, you're part of the process and I believe that what you meant in your last paragraph.

Exactly, karma exists even though some people don't believe in it, because they have allowed corruption to reflect in everything they do. That is why the  prices of things go up and crime increases, but if the system doesn't do anything about it and continues with its selfish interests, it will affect everyone. So for a society to be corrupt in a way that affects the development of its people, that means the people in it are also corrupt because it is the actions of the people that eventually cause it to manifest.

Borderline, I think society itself can be corrupt and broken, not everybody but the vast majority of people can embody corruption. You talked about law, schools and the rest but those sector and aspect are run by people. Infact everyone in a corrupt system have a molecule of corruption in them including the children, especially in society that have normalize that. Imagine a society that police or traffick officials are susceptible to collect bribe from cab drivers instead of checking those papers, kids will grow thinking it's normal, that shows that the society itself is corrupt.

So, the life we find in our society, didn't just start today, go back in history, and you'd figure out that it's been there for generations, and they could somehow be a specific cause to why it spread out to more people. Putting a stop to it, would mean changing all of the people at once, which is almost impossible, not everybody would train their kids the right way, even when they do, they're external factors you can't change like the disaster.

I agree to this, there is nothing that just developed from the present, its all historic events repeating itself, maybe in an upgraded form, If you watch how some countries are taking over others, attacking them because of resources and seeking dominance, you'll revert to the patterns of the old roman empire.

We cannot totally change the society to be perfect all at once, but it can be done gradually through properly sensitizing adults to do what is right and return back to their cultures which they abandoned to adopt that of the west, controlling the kind of information that gets to the younger ones, keeping them engaged to activities that helps their formation and getting them started to life on the right mindset. If the society can be rebuilt, then everyone would take responsibility of doing that. We all contributes to the society being degraded in one form or the other.

I wouldn't classify corruption itself as a moral failure or a blueprint problem, but a natural result of a population that has scaled up massively. If a country has millions of citizens seriously scrambling and fighting for a tiny number of jobs and basic resources, then the system will eventually collapse when the weight of the pressure hits. People will confidently cheat the rules because they know very well that they can easily disappear into the crowd. They will just be another face in the midst of millions.

From your other writeup, you were trying to make it sound like the word 'society' isn't a general way of evaluating people's behaviour. But from what I quoted above, you specifically mentioned that the society is actually a self reflection of people's character and that's exactly what it is.

Rules are rules... they're meant to keep the society in check. The people, which is you and I, all make up the society. If, take for example, there's an increase in crime rate within a certain region, it doesn't make any sense to lay the blame on individuals. It's more of a societal discussion especially within that region.

Of course, there are systems that are meant to do things, but at the end of the day, they're all meant to keep the society incheck. So, it's not like the systems are the actual society.

It has affected every sector and everyone. What is left in society that hasn't been affected?

No jobs, poor school facilities, including private institutions and government institutions. Bad roads, insecurity, which is my greatest fear. Any country that can't fix insecurity, trust me, that country is finished. The annoying part is that the good people are the ones to be in an unfortunate situation. In such a country, each individual is left to find security for himself and his family.

I agree with you it's not the country that is corrupt but the people in the country, making such an effective decisions now begins with an incoruptible leader. Which means a leader must live by example for him to lead well. If the leaders wants to impact the citizens you must give them reason why they should be obedient to your instructions Or visions.
Looking at the fire incident in Chicago that brought about the change we are seeing today, it was not an accidental occurrence, but the vision of a United leader who won't settle for less, and this is worth emulating because it's only leaders who are ready to work that will endeavor to see that things change for good thatn how they met it.

All the responsibilities can not be put on leader. Having a good leader is very important. He can set the direction and always lead by example but long lasting change is not only dependent on multiple factors including leader, strong institutions, laws, and citizens who are willing to follow those standards and also to maintain them.
 It is true that disasters expose problems more clearly and create pressure for change. So that disasters do not happen in future, it is way too simple to think that all changes only happen because of one leader's vision. It takes multiple organisations,  people, lawmakers and citizens who work together over the period of time to create a small change. Leaders can make the base , they can set standards, they can start the change but a stronger system is what helps the change survive for a longer period of time after the leader leaves.

This world works in cycles. From chaos, we reach to order, and from order we decay into chaos... That is the movement the world is facing since the beginning. The peak of human empires has always been the order, but once the participants of such empires corrupt themselves they dive into chaos, and everything falls apart. Roman Empire is a good example of that, the Classical Greek period the same, and now the most recent one with USA.

I think we are in the same situation romans were in the prelude of its fall. Corruption has become generalized and the people find themselves splitted between factions. Morals, principles mean nothing, what matters is if you are by the side of the politician I idolize or by the side of the politician I hate.

Inevitably, the world as we know is going to fall, but I'm not claiming it's going to be the end. Looking at the caption, the people are corrupt not the society, with this I can tell you for free that everyone is corrupt, society is a geographical zone that comparised  with different kinds of people, that's the more reason I will reason different in this your topic, if a law in a particular place has been altered by those who place the law that means the citizens can not longer abed with the laws because even the top personnels are desobyed the laws already, in this case many citizens will be  corrupt too that is the more reason why I said everyone will be corrupt, so not the problem of the citizens that is corrupt but the problem of the government, who place laws and could act normal to the laws they placed.

If we take away the people from the world there will be no society. A society with dignity means the people in the society have discipline and dignity. However, studies show that there are three types of people in society. The people who are willing to change the society for good, the people that wants to destroy the society, and the people who are comfortable being on any side as long as that side is winning. Actually the people makes up the society like you have said, so there is no difference between the people and the society, you can say the community which means you’re referring to a particular groups, the same way you find different characters in different settlements, the people are responsible for making the society corrupt, but let not also forget that not everyone in the society is corrupt, so we can’t completely draw a conclusion that the society is corrupt, we have to present our facts and necessary information to draw that conclusion that the Society is corrupt, common citizens might not be corrupt, but when the Government of the Nation is corrupt then it becomes a big problem, then the masses would suffer.
