He makes some pretty cool stuff! Would be nice to see a more custom patch/in depth BTC card, over the 2D/flatter ones currently. A card like that would feel premium and very collectible. I am curious though, would he limit/serialize his runs? Cause as we know, one thing us collectors always like are more scarce collectibles. Searching his website now, I see no limits on any of his current offerings.
From our convo today , instantly hitting it off , as in we are in the exact same mindset when it comes to card collecting, what it was , and what it’s become. I think he’s in agreement w you and would / does already, ie the Caleb Williams card marked 1/1 and sold out. (I don’t know him very well yet, or his business.. but based off our convo, I’d bet anything this is something he’d done /doing or plans to , outside the Caleb card. That said he’s gotta make some money to make this viable surely and like all card companies is selling some non-mintage limit (maybe they are, and we just don’t know it yet) items (this is essential to sell big hits at a higher scale to get his brand name out there (and it’s working - again I can’t share some news he shared w me until granted permission but he’s made a sizable impact with what little he has done to date ).
But thanks for the post. Exactly what I was looking for .. feedback for desired cards/aspects etc. My hope is to pitch him a couple crypto card ideas (I’ve got some brewed up rn that I’m very excited to share w him, limited runs , and show him the potential his company has in this space (and what not to do wrong - like CardSmith does a good bit of imo (despite, being highly successful thus far).
Rant - skip over this if simply interested in seeing some cool customs for this space- my 2 Satoshis here and why I want to support his brand / art & and help his business expand or see the potential of how to do so, if he desired , anyhow. (clearly small atm but of extreme quality, uniqueness and desirability).
Traditional cards today are pure dog shit imo- fanatics has ruined the current output of sports cards with their essential monopoly. Then the ties to PSA (who are also nearly monopolizing card slabbing), and then getting eBay in on the big fat artificial marketing scheme it’s become offering to buy shit from you, so they can send to grade/regrade (which often turns 7s to 8s or 9s, depending on what random clearly non -defined criteria they support by some “pro-grader” ) offer to frequent buyers that use thier storage service , send to all the companies making these overpriced scammy bs mystery boxes (oh I’m sure you’ll pull a Babe Ruth gaudy, or 90s Griffey refractor).
Back in the day we would call any non-name brand (ie not Topps ,leaf, pinnacle, donruss, Upper Deck etc ) card a promo card and they were all mostly considered insignificant nonsense. IMO “promo cards are the real cards today- independent makers or small opps not tied to the big fat collusion of today’s “non-promo” brands. If you’ve been collecting cards for decades, imo it’s criminal to support anything Fanatics and their CEO offer or partner with ( despite all the negative views I’ve just shared , props to his athletic abilities, clearly he played neighborhood ball as a kid- he may have a chance to at least play at the AAA level- look at these nasty cutters

I just ranted randomly there but what I am getting at (while burning off some steam) is yes, I am confident they will make limited editions , highly consider any ideas thrown their way etc. I say this as they mentioned to me they make these for the nostalgia of true card collecting, which today is absolutely completely different than of years past (I unfortunately was collecting as a kiddo in the 90s. Even the junk wax era of millions of worthless cards, many having hundreds of k’s of each card were still worth collecting.
