Or the government lacks support. And this is a big problem in my country lately, the government keeps on having hard time in helping the businesses especially the small ones and start up. They're asking for so much permit and fees even that many of them are in trial form. There's a need to put some exception for that and make sure that the small business owners profit first before proceeding to the next stage of paying all of those corresponding fees. For example, in Manila, the garbage fee has increased. I've seen $30/annually for it but raised for a lot of businesses up to $2k and even more. So, government help and intervention is a big factor in engaging a business and in helping them grow.

You are right that choosing a good place to do business is very important. Let me share a true story, about 6 months ago a man opened a bike repair shop in our local market and I told him that this business will not survive for long and after 5 months the shop closed due to lack of enough customers. At least 10 thousand dollars were spent on their shop. Although this is a small amount for a developed country, it is a huge amount in our country. So before starting a business, you need to know whether it is a good place and how the business will run there.

If you do not have an idea about your business, then you will not be able to succeed in your own business by seeing the success of others.

Finding a location isn't hard either, but if you're not mentally strong enough to work with clients 8-10 hours a day and listen to all their complaints, it will be difficult to run a business. You were responsible for that situation. However, according to the comments, you may have been alone in your business. As a result, customers are feeling somewhat annoyed.
