What is the similarities and the actually difference?

I and many others has referred trading to be gambling and has used both interchangeably for one reason or the other, but then these can't or might not be less than the areas they both share serious similarities.
I guess the similarities that gambling and trading shares is enough to interchange gambling for trading and trading for gambling mostly in these areas of obvious and serious similitude even as there's still differences.

Some without in-depth views would have blindly referred to gambling as trading and trading as gambling.
Helping out in the differences and similarities between trading and gambling makes sense, so there's going to be a clear view and usage particularly for newbies and others who haven't taken thought to see the difference and similarity of trading and gambling.

I know some people will correct me or argue that trading is not gambling but with what I have noticed about trading, it is nothing more than gambling. Trading, binary options, options and prediction markets are all gambling but they are modified in a way some people will say they are not gambling. in as much as people will say trading is just another form of gambling, i do not fully agree with that. even if they can look similar in some situations, they still have much differences.

gambling outcome is primarily determine by chance, and we all agree that in gambling the games are structured or designed to favor the house. while in trading, you are literarily buying and selling an asset whose price is influenced by supply, demand, fundamental, liquidity, information and market expectation. so a trader can potentially have an edge based on research.

The only time a trading will more like gambling is when a trader, randomly bets on shot term price movement, especially with a high leverage and no defined strategy or risk management.

Similarities? Both are risk type of money involved and needed a strong bold heart fot whatever result it gives later on. Difference? In trading some can use analytics and some pure luck but still ending losing the trade. While gambling anyone can simoly use pure luck and ending both winning or losing. I do not agree with you. Gambling has been existing before the house started to exist. Gambling started since a very long time ago when humans evolved but it was only later that the house gradually started to exist as some people noticed that they can set up business that people can gamble and they will make money from it. If you and someone bet without the house, that is also gambling. Gambling does not mean it has to be from the house.

For my own experience, it depends, like you can force yourself to do gmbling in trading, like just open a trade on long or short position randomly, like you just select or toss a coin which direction you will open a trade, so if this case, I consider this as gambling.

Real difference is process and risk management over time. Gambling can give quick buck, but that's luck, not earning plus in some people it may not consistent.

In trading, there may be some types of trading that do border on gambling and some are even directly referred to as gambling, such as binary options trading. And I actually agree that this particular type falls under the category of gambling. In fact, in my country, this type of trading is not legal.

Trading is a highly skilled activities because you need to learn how to read charts, stay updated on latest news that can affect the market and you also need to come up with your own trading strategy to make profit and in trading, if you know what you are doing, the more you trade, the more experienced you become. Like I've always maintain, their major difference is that trading can involve measurable reason for taking risk while gambling is realistically structured around luck and odds.

I think there's more similarity between trading and gambling and between traders and Bettors than there's a difference between them.
I think because of this much more similarity than difference is the reason why we have more people who refer to trading as gambling because the difference between the two is very little and sometimes not noticeable by people who are do not give a second look to it.

I think there is an 85% similarity between them and 15% difference.

Well, trading and gambling are two different things.. although in some ways they can be quite similar, for example when someone trades blindly and just enters the market based on trust alone, that could be considered gambling.. but still, trading is different because it's based on analyzing market conditions and managing risk, while gambling relies primarily on chance and luck.. so, if I were to put it that way, trading and gambling are different, even though both risk money, trading is more about market analysis and risk management, whereas gambling is more about chance and luck and tends to be just for entertainment.
