in as much as people will say trading is just another form of gambling, i do not fully agree with that. even if they can look similar in some situations, they still have much differences.
gambling outcome is primarily determine by chance, and we all agree that in gambling the games are structured or designed to favor the house. while in trading, you are literarily buying and selling an asset whose price is influenced by supply, demand, fundamental, liquidity, information and market expectation. so a trader can potentially have an edge based on research.
The only time a trading will more like gambling is when a trader, randomly bets on shot term price movement, especially with a high leverage and no defined strategy or risk management.
