It has been floated around that a Shakur Stevenson vs Manny Pacquiao might be on the undercard of the Fury vs Joshua fight on December 11. Though this is still in the negotiation phase i do believed that this will come to fruition as this fight is what HE Turki wants and for sure both the camps of Shakur and Manny would agree on this.

On the question on what division they would meet, i think it would be on a catchweight at 144-lbs as Shakur is not keen on moving up to 147 abruptly. IMO, this is a fight where Manny is safer that if he is to fight Ryan Garcia as the latter is a knockout artist.

Yes, I do think that Manny still has it. Meaning, he can go toe to toe with anyone, even with the likes of Shakur. Catchweight might favor Manny too, as we all know that he is not that big of a bigger guy and could be walking around 140-150 lbs.

So not that much to cut as he admit that he his metabolism is very quick. For sure, obviously, he is one defensive fighter, but if Manny could touch him once, for sure all his plans are going to thrown out of the window just like Thurman.

If he don't respect Manny, then that will be his downfall in this fight.

I don't know, I like him but did you happen to watch Physical 100 Asia recently? He repped Philippines of course but he really looked over it in the challenges (and also pulled out).

Maybe boxing's different of course but if this is a true matchup, Manny needs a lot of rebuild, unless his opponent's in even worse shape

Yes, but this is Manny Pacquiao that we are talking about. He has face on the best fighter in his generation, although he lost to Floyd Mayweather, but we can't compare Shakur to Floyd as this point.

Yeah, boxing is boxing, we've seen so many ups and downs and upset in recent, like the Itauma fight. Or even Joshua against Prenga wherein we thought that Joshua is done until he knockout Prenga. So anything goes, but being a fan of Manny, I will go with him.

Lol, I was just talking about this fight here, here. Now, it looks like the fight is into fruition. For sentimentals, I think most of us will pick Pacman to win.

But if we weight everything, he is old, his last fight was a draw and his one kryptonite is facing a boxing who is a defensive specialist like Floyd or JMM. So this might be a hard fight for Manny as age might have caught up with him. Don't get me wrong, he is a legend, but most of the time, when father time caught up with you, you can't defeat him.

Pacquiao as an undercard fight? That's outrageous! Given the amount of traction and audience he gathers, I doubt that such decision would happen as promoters would capitalize on every inch of that fight for coverage.

With regard to Pacquiao's capabilities, I honestly believe that he will be victorious in this fight if it comes into fruition. Like what I have mentioned before, any opportunity to see Pacquiao fight and be on the ring is a privilege that I do not want to miss. We are witnessing a one-of-a-kind fighter which has accolades that will most likely never be repeated by any other fighter.

As such, I hope that the negotiations would conclude and finalize this fight for everyone's pleasure!

Yes. I saw some posts on social media about this fight, and I didn't believe them until confirmed by the reliable sources that the negotiations for this fight are active. And no, they are not in the undercard, but this is a double main event along with the Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury heavyweight clash.

I don't know how to react to this fight, but seeing a fighter who was once the most "exciting to watch" fighter of his era lace up against not only Father Time but also against a much younger elite boxing superstar, I mean why not? This is pretty exciting.

I am a big fan of Pacquiao, but at his age, this is not a fight I'm comfortable seeing. He is up against an undefeated champion who is considered dangerous in boxing. If we take a close look at both fighters' recent fights, we'll see that this match-up is not good. I much prefer to see Pacquiao facing Mayweather than against Shakur.
In boxing, time is not your friend. You may look good, but time and long years of battle in the ring will show up eventually.

I don't believe that this will happen at all. Rumors will remain rumors until it becomes real. I also don't know why Pacman is on the undercard or even in the co-main event. Also just for context, Pacquiao returned to public service here in our country as he's been proclaimed by our President. He's a "cabinet secretary", so I don't think that this is even possible anymore especially now that he's already back in public service.

No, this isn't fake news, in fact the Saudi backers are the ones behind this idea of pitting Shakur Stevenson with Manny Pacquaio as the former is with Zuffa Boxing promotion.

Shakur at the moment is having a hard time finding a rightful opponent after being stripper of that WBC belt so this idea of being in the ring with the legendary Manny Pacquiao might be a good move since it could pay him lucrative money and a chance to beat a legend.

While on Manny's side, Mayweather is not keen on risking his 50-0 record to Manny which should be the best fight for both aging fighters but a showdown with Shakur could equally give him the money and also the risk of getting hurt is not so much as Shakur is not well known of a slugger.

As far as I know, Manny is very active even if he is not in boxing. That's why his weight is still the same and didn't gain that much. I even saw some video of him together with another Filipino  boxer in Eumir Marcial training together (Marcial then won last week via knockout). So this fight is still very much interesting and there could be some of us who thinks that Manny can still pull the trigger despite his age.

This year, I wanted to see the fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao, which was scheduled for this autumn. Of course, it would have been hard to call it a boxing match; it would have been more of a spectacle, but, damn it, it would have featured legendary fighters, even if they are effectively retired by now. It’s a shame it was cancelled.

I suppose Pacquiao’s team might agree to the fight; after all, he didn’t train for a bout with Mayweather for nothing. But to be honest, I have no illusions about it. Pacquiao is no longer young (at least by professional ring standards) and it seems to me he would merely serve as a springboard for Stevenson’s career. He would make a worthy sparring partner, but it’s unlikely he’d emerge the winner, let alone by knockout.

Pacquiao is long past his prime and the peak of his career; for him, it is now just about making money from the sport rather than reaching the pinnacle or winning titles. Stevenson, on the other hand, is a different story. He has no losses or even draws, on his record (and even younger). For him, this fight against Pacquiao is merely a title "trophy". I think it's obvious who will emerge the winner in this fight.

Shakur Stevenson is one of the top pound for pound fighters. Pacquiao is months away from turning 48. You don’t have to be an expert to see where this is heading. Pacquiao is going to lose every single round if this fight goes through. He might even get knocked out. Shakur isn’t the hardest puncher, but he did put a good beating on Teofimo. I honestly don’t see what he has to gain from this.

This will be much like Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson. It was more of a cash grab and a spectacle than an actual fight. It did nothing for Jake’s career and it was sad to see Tyson so impotent. I hope the money is at least good because I think Shakur will lose a lot of respect.

I was disappointed watching that comp actually, I felt like they included him just for star power, and then he pulled out (and didn't do so well for his team to be perfectly honest).

Totally love the guy, and he's from our region of course there's pride there but I always feel people should walk away when their reputation is intact. Boxing has a fast expiry date on the body sadly.
