Nigeria has given the united state of America Access to it $700 billion worth  mineral resources. What best describe modern day slavery than this?
 
Nigeria's Minister of Solid Minerals Dele Alake and US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau have signed an agreement to deepen American investment in Nigeria's mining sector, formalised at the Nigeria Mission House in New York on Wednesday. The framework covers;

1.  geological data and exploration

2. mineral development and processing,

3. And infrastructure and technical capacity.
 
As a Nigerian, I can't help but question this mining agreement with the US. We have mineral resources estimated at about $700 billion, yet we are again looking to foreign powers to develop and profit from them.

 If we keep providing the resources while depending on others for the technology, capital and processing, aren't we simply creating another form of economic slavery?

I understand the frustration, but I think we should be careful about expecting another country to come and solve Nigeria’s problems for us. Any agreement with a foreign government should be judged by its actual terms, transparency and impact on Nigerians. Foreign assistance can help, but Nigeria still needs strong institutions and leadership capable of protecting its own citizens and interests.

What were they thinking when they made a deal with the devil in the past? I do not see any agreement between the United States and Nigeria. What I see is the dictators coming to take what they believe is theirs because the so-called leaders sold Nigeria a long time ago. Tinubu has aged, and sure, time is not on his side. We who are young will be the ones to pay for the damage he is doing after he is gone. Nigeria is not a free country. The better we know now, the better for us. The problem of Nigeria as a country is nothing but having the wrong people as leaders, legally no country or president will force any country to give them their own mineral resources as against the country's will. It has been the plan of these leaders to give away our mineral resources for their own selfish interest. When this kind of deal is carried out, the people involved have something to benefit from it, and this is what some of the Nigerian leaders do to keep exploiting the country to enrich themselves. We can actually mine this minerals ourselves to sell to which ever country with good trade relationship with Nigeria, and then we can make the most profitable our it , and make good use of the money.
Nigeria as a country have enough natural resources to live up to the standard we want , but the interest is not to develop the country despite the huge natural resources that is being deposited in our land, and this is the reason why there is so much despiracy to rule even when some of them know they have nothing to offer. This country Nigeria actually need someone to bring us from this mess we are passing through, as far as I know, it is not this present government.

Its obvious that Nigeria have not gained independent as claimed to be and are lead by groups of criminals claiming to be leaders in Nigeria,  looking at the time and how the said agreement is made you should be able to understand that this said agreement stands for two different things.
At first is I as a prove that we are not a sovereign nation because if we are to be as claimed, we won't be dependent of US when we have what it takes to become better than them if properly managed.
Secondly,  it means the deal is to cover president Tinubu's  criminal case file they have refused to released for years, so its clear we are finished in the hands of this present administration as they don't care how we feel but only interested in covering there shames.

I know they were never genuinely concerned about Nigerians when they were clamoring for better securing to protect Christians in the Northern part of Nigeria or they'll step in to help.
I know there was definitely something fishy with the recent news of the FBI threatening to release their report of the investigation concerning the current president's drug trafficking involvement in the US.
This is most probably one of the conditions Tinubu has been asked to meet for the reports to remain hidden. The US government will always come for other countries mineral resources especially when they know they can. For the exchange of Tinubu to continue his rule as Nigeria's president. This is clear evidence that the US didn't come to save us from the hands of our bad government. What exactly was the agreement, the topic of Trump saving the Christians is far from what is going on. Start the blame on your political leaders who signed this agreement. The agreement wasn't a trade for peace and a payment for their involvment, this is business, and your leaders have absolutely everything to gain before accepting the offer or from anyone who began the bargaining at first.
