Veld Network (VELD)
CPU proof of work • Native staking • Co-mining rewards
Live mainnet • Open source • 21 million maximum supply
Veld is a UTXO blockchain that launched its public mainnet on 2 September 2026. Its VeldHash proof of work is designed for CPU mining using a 1 GiB dataset. Full nodes validate the chain locally, and the Windows client supports both solo and pool mining.
This is our first announcement on Bitcointalk and my name is Mendo, the founder of Veld. I've put a significant part of my time and life into building it, with a direct goal; a currency people can earn, use and hold, with rewarding ways to participate within the network over the long term.
Network facts• Network: veld-public-mainnet-v2
• Maximum supply: 21,000,000 VELD
• Premine, founder allocation, treasury: none
• Target block interval: 180 seconds; actual intervals vary
• Difficulty adjustment: ASERT after every accepted block
• Total base block reward: 3.13926940 VELD
• Native transaction signatures: ML-DSA-65
• Native staking: a 500 VELD minimum and 10,000 VELD maximum per address
• Validator participation: a 10,000 VELD bond and rewards require eligible endorsements
Regular block rewards are split
50% to the block winner, 20% to co-mining, 20% to the staking vault and 10% to the validator reward pool. Every 100th block directs its entire reward to the vault instead. During issuance, transaction fees also fund the vault.
Beyond finding a blockStaking: Choose a lockup of 7, 14, 30 or 90 days. Longer lockups increase relative distribution weight. Qualifying block producing activity adds Bronze-to-Diamond mining weights, with the combined multiplier capped at 3.00×. Distributions are variable..
Co-mining: Solo miners with at least 1,000 VELD staked at their mining address can qualify through valid near-miss work included on-chain. The client submits qualifying proofs automatically. Draws take place every 100 blocks, with one entry per eligible address, regardless of how many qualifying proofs it submitted. Draws select up to five winners.
The same 1,000 VELD stake can earn ordinary staking distributions and qualify for co-mining. No second stake is required.Long-term reward scheduleIssuance follows a flat schedule of 550,000 VELD per 175,200 blocks, with no halvings, until the 21 million cap is reached. At the target interval, that is approximately 38 years, after issuance ends; transaction fees support miners, the vault and validators.
How to mineDownload Veld Node, extract the Windows package and open
Start Veld Node.bat.
For
solo mining, use a Veld wallet keyfile or enter a payout address you control in Address-only mode. (Address-only mining does not require that address's private key on the mining computer). Let the node finish chain validation and peer synchronization then the node will automatically switch to mining.
For
pool mining, choose “Pool” and enter your own payout address. It shares actual mining income. Co-mining winnings and staking income are earned from the founder funded stake. Pool members do not receive any separate on-chain co-mining entries.
The Veld Pool policy is
0% service fee, a
1 VELD payout threshold and daily batches after at least 120 canonical confirmations and spendability. Smaller balances remain recorded; payments depend on actual earnings.

Veld Network DiscordWe welcome anyone who is trying mining for the first time, experienced node operators and developers interested in the network. Share your CPU and hashrate, ask about the reward rules, or tell us what needs improving. Bug reports and reproducible results are extremely useful.
I'll be here to answer questions and discuss the project as it develops. I want to keep the direct conversations that helped our small community get started, and build from there.
