Are Bitcoin wallet addresses actually trackable or untraceable?

A lot of people hear and say things like “Bitcoin is anonymous”.  There is this widespread assumption that Bitcoin wallet addresses can't be traced back to a real person. But is this actually true?
Let's look at it this way, Bitcoin addresses don't contain your name, phone number, home address or social security number. However, a vast majority of Bitcoin transactions involving an address are recorded on a public blockchain.
Let's not forget the part of the off-chain network. In this regard, it is important to note that exchanges usually ask for KYC registration. So yes, someone definitely knows who you are.
Like we may all know, Bitcoin is said to be pseudonymous rather than anonymous. Your name might not appear on the block chain but things can be traced back to you.

Bitcoin transactions on the blockchain are pseudonymous rather than anonymous, but that does not mean that bitcoin reveals the personal identity of users on the blockchain. A public transaction on the blockchain shows:
1. Receiver address
2. Sender address
3. Amount
4. Transaction time
5. Transaction history of the addresses.

A few number of ways where an address could be linked to a person outside the blockchain
1. Publicly admitting that a posted address belongs to you.
2. Giving out an address to someone who already knows your identity.
3. Blockchain analysis/ cases of data leak.

In my own opinion, Bitcoin wallet addresses are trackable because every Bitcoin transaction is publicly and permanently recorded on the blockchain. Bitcoin addresses involved in transactions are visible and can be viewed by anyone. But the only thing that is not revealed is the identity behind Bitcoin address.

A decentralized wallet address is pseudonymous, not anonymous. Every transaction made through the address can be tracked very easily, if your identity is revealed with the address then it is no longer pseudonymous.

However, you can easily keep yourself free from the tracking system, use a different address for each transaction, then no one can track you.

If you use a centralized exchange address then it is very easy to associate your name with the transactions, because with KYC you are not pseudonymous, but your identity is revealed with that address.
