What it is todayThe
SCR AI Build Configurator is a cost model for AI and HPC data centre builds that anyone can try for free in the browser. Pick a location, a cooling type and a GPU class, and it instantly returns:
- capital expenditure, broken down by line item
- annual energy cost from real regional power rates
- revenue by commercial structure, EBITDA and payback period
It covers
seven build configurations,
all nine Canadian provinces and
all 50 US states plus DC, including each state's large-load tariff rules. We track those rules in a public tariff library, one page per state.
Site-selection consultants, colocation developers, EPC firms, power brokers and real estate advisors can embed it on their own websites under an annual per-domain licence. That gives their clients a credible screening model without paying for custom software.

What we want to build: the crypto dApp layerRight now licences are sold by card only, and a licence is a key we issue by hand. Our grant proposal turns that into an on-chain dApp:
- Pay with crypto: buy or renew a licence, or a one-off Site Screening Report, straight from a wallet on the configurator page, with no card or bank needed.
- On-chain licensing: each licence (tier, licensed domain, expiry) is issued and renewed on-chain, so a licence holder can prove it and the widget can check it without a central server.
- Verifiable data: every release of the power-cost and tariff dataset is fingerprinted on-chain, so anyone can check that the numbers in a report match a published data version.
The goal is to make a real-world infrastructure tool work natively with crypto: a practical use for payments and on-chain attestation, tied to a product people already use to plan the compute that AI and blockchain both run on.
