The best is to trade most altcoins. If luckily it pumped, just sell it before it will be too late because it will later dump more than the price that you bought it.

I held some for some time and I later sold them after they increased in prices. Most of them later fell in this year more than the prices they fell to in 2022 bear market. Although, some of them rose again up to 2 to 3x not quite long.

I join a lot of translation campaigns of altcoin ICO way back when altcoin market is still trending and you will see lots of useless tokens on my previous wallet address that stuck since moving them will cost more transaction fee than just forgetting about it.

I spend lots of hour doing translation of altcoin whitepaper and ANN thread that result to nothing but shit tokens so I considered these tokens as remembrance to my previous work.

Most of them later fell in this year more than the prices they fell to in 2022 bear market. Although, some of them rose again up to 2 to 3x not quite long.

Knowing when to accept that the project is no longer worth holding is one of the difficult part with some of these old altcoins, cause some people feels that a coin is recovering once it start to go up 2x or 3x after a long decline but this doesn’t mean that the project has become strong again.
Looking at whether the project still has a real activity is the important thing to look at and also a reason to exist. Cause if all this are gone having to wait for another pump can keep your funds stuck in an asset that might not even recover.

I have a few altcoins in my old wallet that are worthless already and I got some of those coins before 2022 but that was when I still had hope in altcoins, I followed my friends, we all thought that these coins could make us millionaires one day but it never did, how I even recovered some of my capital was that I made profit from few of the altcoins while the majority never got above the price I bought them. I stop investing in random newly developed altcoins around 2022 after I learned that Bitcoin investment is more reliable than all the other shitcoin. If there are people that are still hoping that altcoins will change their life and are heavily investing on it instead of to invest in Bitcoin, they should just bear in mind that they are gambling because to make profit from altcoins is now based on luck and not certainty.

Of course. Some people are just holding them for too long, and then they become not worth even selling, if there is no exchange, no buyers, and just a chain, which is slowly collapsing, when it is hard to find even non-pruned peers, willing to serve you next blocks.

Yes, I have some CPU coins, where it is more difficult to sync the chain, than to mine next blocks.

Well, there are still many altcoins, where mining them, and selling on the spot is still profitable (or just more profitable, than mining BTCs directly with the same hardware). Many altcoins are not designed for traders to profit, but for miners. They exist only to be mined and sold to someone, who wish the coin will be worth more over time.

If I search deeply in my backups I am sure I will find quite a few. One I do remember of is HeavyCoin (I think it was HVC).

During altcoins hype, I had bought some and that was before I became a member here in the forum. I thought that, those shitcoins will make me rich but too bad, they put me in a big loss because they're sitting in my wallet useless. Getting here, I was told that only bitcoin is worth investing in and I have confirmed it since, I started buying bitcoin. You don't hold shitcoins for long if possible, sell it even when you're in loss because it might become useless tomorrow.

I tried buying ecosystem altcoins like Cosmos and Polkadot, but the investment results have been negative. Fortunately, I allocated no more than 20% of my investment portfolio to these experiments, keeping the bulk of my investments in Ethereum and Bitcoin. It is interesting to note that a huge number of tokens in these ecosystems are staked, yet staking itself is unprofitable given the drop in price.

I still have a lot of them in my wallet, not that I'm holding most of them to make money from them but because they are dead and no liquidity to even sell. I spend good money buying some of them due to what I perceived as opportunity to earn big from them but I never knew they would turn out so bad. I don't advise anyone to put too much money into new tokens because they usually become shitcons after few years. The best is to simply put small funds and sell if the opportunity to see it pumped arises.

There are lots of people still holding. Some still believe that it will pump someday, and they still hold unto it. Some are just hilfiynot because they have hope in it. They are just holding for holding sake. Not intentional about it because they already lost hope about it. Another reason while some is still holding till date is that it's not easy for them let go considering the amount of money they spent when I investing in the project. It's just so disappointing that you put in so much maouuof money into a project and at the end, you discover it's pump and dump.

I have only gotten involved in an altcoin once, and I lost massively, even my time was just so wasted. And I got off from such activities. But I have friends who are still very much active and holding depite there losses. They still have hooes, I guess.

I call them shitcoins. If you're an active investor, bounty participant, and airdrop hunter, you'll end up accumulating these shitcoins because it's hard to differentiate between good and bad ones; you'll only know when the developers and whales abandon them.
This is the curse of being the three that I've mentioned; the best thing to do is to leave these wallets by transferring the good coins from the shitcoins, then move on.

Regarding altcoins that have gone through several bull runs without making any progress, I don't think anyone holds out any hope for them anymore. It’s just that the network fees required to offload them elsewhere are too high to justify the cost. Truly a good number of us definitely have some altcoins in some old left behind wallets, personally I have and I’m pretty sure those things are worthless right now deserves no attention or trying to sell at any point except the top altcoins which still have value regardless of lower pricing and no boom moments but however if they pump next thing is to sell and wipe the wallet. Yes, I have previously had some altcoin projects two years ago, unfortunately nothing reasonable did happen with this altcoins they were a huge disappointment, I’m not a fan of altcoins but some friends did convince me about some certain altcoins, and I lost some money, ever since I stop associating myself with altcoins, I believe there are people who still appreciate and own some altcoins, I don’t really know how it’s going for them, altcoin projects are mostly not for a long term, just for a short term and trading, however I don’t have any altcoin in my possession, I was dealt a huge blow after acquiring some shitty altcoins.

Holding worthless coins in the wallet can be as a result of multiple reasons, I am not a fan of altcoins investment but I have few that I grabbed year's back and it was because of the advice of a friend who also got the same shitcoins at that time, I also have a few other's that get dumped on me through some free airdrops which were meant for testing the platform ecosystem but failed to even get to that testnet level.


That is the reason I Said some of us holding those altcoins have different reasons why we still have those coins seating in our wallet despite their are proven to be worthless.

I still hold a few altcoins that are no longer valuable or even worth trading. Many of the altcoins I hold no longer have markets available for trades. And the liquidity of some of these altcoins has become so thin that it seems pointless to hold such a large number of tokens. I personally no longer have high hopes for the junk altcoins I hold by considering that their future is bleak since their communities are no longer active as I saw. I think some of altcoins might have generated profits in the past after being held for a while. But I believe it’s highly unlikely to experience that kind of momentum again right now given that smart money isn’t hyping up altcoins as often anymore. And the pie to be shared is very limited with so many altcoins in circulation today.

A coin that is worthless in the sense that it no longer has value and has been removed from some trading platform then nothing can be expected. While most altcoin holders who are still holding on, maybe because they have bought but the price has not risen, automatically only keep the hope that someday there will come an altseason that really gives profits back. Or at least they decided to cover losses rather than stay afloat as its value continued to decline.

Now, to hold altcoins in principle have to take advantage of the hype or new narratives in some networks, such as the recently released Robinhood Chain or Arc Network. It was not necessarily profitable, some of them gamble for just a quick trade as long as it is 5x or 10x directly Take profit.

Most users who have been in crypto for a long time have more or less altcoins in their old wallets. There are also such altcoins lying useless in personal wallets. The wallets are not used anymore, when I think about altcoins and remember these tokens.

Especially, have a lot of history of my work with the Karma token but those have currently become valueless. Above all, at one time there was a focus on getting good profit but I have lost that golden opportunity or golden past. Many tokens of altcoins are still doing well, many coins held in the holdings have become valueless.
