Politicians never want people's financial freedom. They always want to control everything about financially, politically and through strict rules and regulations in the country. And what political persons actually show or promise to people, has no basis in reality. Powerful politicians of many countries have spoken positively about Bitcoin, but they have never accepted Bitcoin as legal. If they take such steps, then it will be harmful for them too. As They will not be able to control Bitcoin like fiat currency. They can increase their wealth by printing money whenever they want. But this is not possible with Bitcoin. Maybe to gain temporary popularity with the people of the country, political persons sometimes talk positively about Bitcoin or cryptocurrency, but in reality is different . The government of a country always deceives the people. They fool people with false assurances, but in reality they themselves are corrupting, weakening people  security, privacy, and taking away people from freedom.

I think, some of them are into cryptocurrency investment nowadays, which is why they publicly shared it in different platforms? But when it comes to politicians, I don’t easily trust them because we’re all aware of what some politicians are good at. They’re good at public speaking, to the point that they can easily gain your favor and get you to side with them. Aside from that, I know some of the tactics people use, particularly those who work in the government. majority in a politicians are corrupt, thats the reality,  so why would they share something about crypto with others? weird. It seems like they might be working on something related to cryptocurrency, and maybe they’re even behind those thing...Or maybe I’m just overthinking it.

Who are politicians by the way? They are representatives who run the government. The same government that supports policies that expands financial surveillance through AML/KYC requirements. Therefore, I perceive it as hypocrisy to see these same politicians that literally runs this government claim to support or promote crypto (bitcoin). Even if they genuinely support other crypto project, I don't see politicians fully endorsing bitcoin because it will possibly disclose all their dubious activities (because all transaction are visible on the blockchain) and transparency is what most government of the world today can't boost of.

I believe there are two different things; support for bitcoin investment and support for bitcoin ideals. Yeah, some politicians will definitely invest in bitcoin because they believe they can make profit out of it but they don't truly care about decentralisation or whatever we believe. As per other shitcoins/memcoins and tokens, they just use it to scam and enrich themselves. I mean, look at $TRUMP today, a scamy project that went from an ATH of 75 dollar to a plummeted value of 1.65 dollar. It just proves that politicians only endorse crypto for shady reasons.

Yes and that is because most government don't support bitcoin as a result of bitcoin and financial freedom. Government benefit from fiat regulation. They don't support bitcoin and that is why officials of government would not come out publicly to speak positive about bitcoin but that doesn't mean they don't personally believe in bitcoin as asset for investment. They do and also invest in it, just like the link I dropped in the comment I made above.

Don't trust anyone seems to always be right when talking about the assets we have including the movements that occur in the market because now more and more people know bitcoin then the more influencers or influential people who try to find their personal gain including politicians who try to make this as a stepping stone for them.

From the election case some time ago about Trump and some other examples of cases like Saylor though we should be aware that these people have personal interests and make bitcoin as a stepping stone.
Regardless of them posting anything just to make their exposure increase especially when someone who has power behind them and has followers is in bitcoin then certainly there will be a lot of notice so we should not fully believe in things like this because this will always be a template every year for those who want exposure when their popularity is slowly declining.

This is only the same to those politicians that make sures that everything they do like if they give financial and food assistance, socialized in poorer places, etc... always has a snap when the election time is getting close, only to try and get the sympathy of the public or many poor people. If they are genuine, then there is no need for proof anymore.

We already learned our lesson with Trump. He clearly just use Bitcoin to gain access to meme coins later on. So whenever there is another candidate that is like highlighting a crypto, we only need to focus on those that we really want to sit in the specific government positions, to ensure they can do their duty well and also not to have a bad impact on the crypto market.

No, I do not trust any politicians who show their entusiasm towards Bitcoin.  Politicians love to play with the emotion of people.  They always have their script to please the audience, especially when the election is just around the corner.

There are lots of politicians who give support to Bitcoin and lay out good plans about Bitcoin adoption and infrastructures and yet most of these promises and plans just vaporize into thin air.

So I never take whatever these politicians say seriously.

Politicians are always politicians and until they prove otherwise every promise that they give is just mere promise that should not be trusted. Trump is a perfect example. with all the positive things that he said about bitcoin that made most forum members support him for presidency, at his emergence, he almost forgot those things.

Bitcoin has always done well with or without the intervention of the political elite. there statement are just to their own gain based off the population of crypto users that they can get to by being positive about bitcoin and crypto. until they give me a reason to believe that they can be trusted, no political affiliation with bitcoin makes bitcoin any better.

It's not actually the politician that you should trust. But trust the human need to be incentivized, just like all of us, the mere PLEBS of BitcoinTalk.

If a politician has invested in Bitcoin, then he will feel that he needs to be incentivized. Therefore, if he/she knows that his/her actions will cause a surge in ots price/market value, THEN be confident that he will do such things.

Politicians are humans like you and I, so they have every right to buy bitcoin, but it’s not enough reason to trust them. It is left for the electorate to fact check every politicians that suddenly start speaking good about bitcoin before casting their votes for them. Buying bitcoin or supporting it is enough reason why people should vote for politicians in an election. If they meet the criteria to be in that office fine, but if they don’t have what it takes to occupy such an office, owning bitcoin is not going to make them become a better person.

If I really have to share my honest point of view on this topic. Then I would say, in the world we are living in, it is so mean, isn't it?
Until anyone sees their own benefit first, they don't do it for others without having any advantage from it. Isn't it true? For example, we have a perfect example of Trump. There is no doubt that since the day he became the president of the US for another time, he promoted Bitcoin a lot, and with its help he took a lot of advantage.

He got support from crypto users. And if you guys look more closely, you guys will come to realize that since the day he became president, he has tripled his net worth by trading stocks and crypto by manipulating the market in different scenarios. It is possible that politicians have their personal interests in why they promote Bitcoin, maybe to gain support from the crypto community. These can be reasons why some politicians talk about Bitcoin. But the fact that institutions are adopting Bitcoin suggests that there are some genuine government officials who are seriously investing in Bitcoin. However, I don't really know the reason for announcing it because Bitcoin investment is supposed to be private, and there is no need to impress people with it.

You and I understand that the establishment, the powers that be, or the suit, as we used to think of them, can positively influence the legal side and promote innovation, but unfortunately, not everyone acts according to our expectations of them. Trump is a very good example and after about two years since his President Inauguration, I believe that many people have felt disappointed with Trump so far. His family got richer a lot from financial and cryptocurrency markets in last two years but he has made many turmoils during the same time and many people lost money in the market as well as in meme tokens launched by Trump family.

With his most focus on Iran and geopolitical conflicts and restructures, I don't imagine that he will pay attention on cryptocurrency market in his last two years in the White House.

It's true about all politicians but in recent years, Trump is a very good example about that.

Generally, there are very scarce politicians who have visions that can shape a new era, and don't let individual and family interest affecting their president administration. When most politicians don't have such era-shaping visions, they won't chase innovation and even won't be able to do that.

I'm not sure about the number of politicians that have been found doing this. Yeah, Donald Trump did speak very well of the crypto industry when he was campaigning to be president, but it is not like we are seeing any unprecedented adoption of BTC by politicians.

However, if we are talking about BTC, then it is a trustless network, you do not need to trust the actions of politicians. I understand that certain people with influence can sway investor sentiment and move the price in one direction or the other, but it is only temporal in most situations. BTC will continue to grow, with or without institutional adoption or that of influential politicians.

When they go back on their words,  I don't hold it against them because the way things are done once you get in isn't the same when you're campaigning, I have held a political position so I know the amount of influence the cartel existing before you, have in putting out policy and it's always our faults believing the politicians when they campaign that's why I don't like over promises but just the simplest things that can be achieve to be said and done. Our so called politicians don't actually have the power to do some things that we think they do and they won't do it because they'll be met with challenges from other politicians. We have some good ones but the system corrupts you when you join them that's why the real ones can't do anything when they get there and then the others were just pretenders.

If there is one permanent thing that I've learned about politicians, then it is that you should never trust them no matter what they say or promise to do, because almost 99% of them are always going to do what will eventually benefit them and not others, and this thing doesn't only apply on governmental affairs, but the same could be said about their stands and promises with other things, such as this one you are talking about. Even if they say good things about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, or say they support it, there will always be a reason behind what they say or do.

Besides, why do we need to trust anyone when it comes to financial decisions? We should be smart enough to make our own decisions, and our decisions should be based on logic and research. If we are unable to do any research or understand everything ourselves, we should simply stay away from financial markets in the first place, because you can't become a good investor if you are easily influenced by the words of other people, whether politicians, celebrities, or anyone in general.

Personally, I have never trusted those politicians. They came & expressed support for BTC, even though they remained on BTC side until the end, I view their actions as not being entirely genuine, it was a way for them to garner sympathy from the broader crypto industry. Much like the state & the government that merely ride the coattails of this industry, they appear supportive, but in reality, they simply want to reap the benefits from us all, the proof is that they do not like the mixing service.

Politicians can not be trusted, and I believe they are showing their support because they want something back from bitcoin or they are doing it to get people's attention for the upcoming election. There is nothing a politician can not do because of an election, they can do anything, and some will support bitcoin to gain votes from investors, but we should never believe them, even though some politicians invest in bitcoin when they still use public funds, some might not be a public fund but most of them do invest in bitcoin when they don’t want people to suspect them of their money. Some politicians will have a good reason but they are people who can not be trusted.

Don't trust politicians claiming to be crypto experts... that's just bullshit, just like everyone else's opinion they just want to get support on Election Day. You know how Trump supports bitcoin? And that's the reality.

I don't know why talking about politicians, no one trusts him, especially as a representative of a country that will regulate laws, currently the crypto world is being squeezed, to make platforms do mass KYC, they also get benefits from taxes, politicians are on salaries and there are no politicians who are crypto experts.

I will not trust a politician that speaks positively of cryptocurrency during their campaign because they understand that it is a way to gather support, and they are using that strategy, but it has casted because crypto enthusiasts like us understand that politicians are taking advantage of our love for cryptocurrency to gain our support. I would only trust a politician that doesn't talk much about their support for cryptocurrency but also one whose direction shows that he's actually in support of cryptocurrency, and that can happen when they're in power. So before I can trust a politician that speaks positively of cryptocurrency, they also have to show the action to back it up.

I do not believe in politicians because they can do anything to win the election, before the election they will show such an image in front of the general people that they will try to be a leader who is like the mind of the general people but when they win the election, their true behavior or appearance gradually comes to the fore. Political leaders say one thing in the morning to get votes before the election and say something different in the afternoon, they want to be like the mind of the general people, this is their main goal. I personally hate all the politicians who talk morally about Bitcoin and financial freedom or buy Bitcoin in the hope of getting votes because they are completely showing off and nothing good can ever be expected from them in the future.
