Used ASIC inspection checklist before payment and deploymentA used ASIC can be economical when its condition is documented and the site can support it. The price alone cannot show hashboard health, repair history, corrosion or remaining service risk.

Before payment- Confirm the exact model, hashrate variant, serial number and physical condition.
- Ask whether the unit was air cooled, immersion cooled or repaired.
- Request recent dashboard evidence showing all hashboards and chip counts.
- Request a test duration long enough to expose unstable boards or repeated restarts.
- Ask for inlet temperature, fan RPM and wall power during the test.
- Confirm what is included: power supply, controller, cords and packaging.
Evidence that is usefulA short video can connect the physical serial label to the running dashboard. The date, miner identity and test screen should appear in the same evidence sequence. A single cropped screenshot is weaker because it may not identify the tested unit or show whether the result was stable.
Physical inspection points- Dust buildup, damaged fan guards and abnormal fan noise.
- Corrosion, oil residue or signs of improper liquid-cooling conversion.
- Loose heat sinks, damaged connectors and heat discoloration.
- Controller and network-port condition.
- Bent chassis panels or packaging damage that may affect airflow.
Acceptance test after deliveryDefine the acceptance test before shipment. Record the allowed hashrate tolerance, test duration, ambient conditions and treatment of rejected hashboards. Run the machine on a correctly sized electrical circuit with controlled intake and exhaust. Compare pool-side hashrate over time, not only the local dashboard at startup.
Return and repair termsUsed equipment may have different warranty or return treatment from new equipment. Read the written policy before payment and ask how shipping, inspection and repair costs are allocated if the delivered unit fails the agreed test.

return and refund policy. A buyer should save the policy and the transaction-specific agreement that apply on the payment date.
A practical decision standardProceed only when the machine identity, test evidence, included parts and acceptance conditions agree. If one of those items remains unclear, pause the transaction and request a corrected record.
