Entitlement mentality is a disease

We are now in a world where everyone expects trophy. Let's imagine going to a game where every player demands for a trophy even before the match start. They don't want to run, practice, or follow rules. They just have this believe that they deserve the trophy because they were present at the match. Trophy isn't won by entitlement.
Many of us have come across the word entitlement, but don't know the actual meaning of it. Let me break it down for you here. Entitlement is the belief that you deserve special rewards, praise, Gifts,  trophies or privileges without putting in the work, patience, or effort to earn them. For so many decades humans have had this mentality, turning such a selfish thing to a regular everyday habit. That's a pollution.

 To understand how entitlement has became normal, it helps to break it down into three simple parts:
We have the I WANT IT NOW" EXPECTATIONS: well, thanks to fast technology, instant delivery and constant convenience, waiting has become so inappropriate and unacceptable to so many individuals, anger and impatience follows. People feel entitled to instant satisfaction simply because they are used to having it.

We have the DEMANDING PRIVILEGES WITHOUT RESPONSIBILITY: Entitlement has made lot of people focus heavily on what they are owed while ignoring what they owed to others. This is why I call entitlement a selfish mentality. It's like demanding a clean neighborhood while throwing  trash on the ground for someone else to pick it up.

THE HIGhLIGHT REEL EFFECT; seeing everyone else show off their best moments on screen makes people feel they are lacking behind if they don't have the same lifestyle, attention, or success right now without them even working for it.

When entitlement becomes our everyday habit or lifestyle Gratitude disappears, society suffers, people no longer feel thankful for things they believe they were automatically owed. Kindness fades because people expect others to serve them. Relationship breaks down when one person believes their needs are always more important than the other.

There is nothing wrong in expecting good thing from this life but I think the problem starts when we believe our expectations should automatically become someone else’s responsibility. You can want the through but you still have to accept the possibility of losing the match. The ability to handle NO without feeling cheated is probably one of the clearest ways to recognize  entitlement.

I don't even think we know how thos affects the very core of human nature, I didn't really know much about this until my friend told me about it and it's effect. Entitlement affects not just our life but how we see people, the zeal or the drive to expect more things from people blinds from our own inadequacies and stunts our growth. The idea of expecting rewards or special treatments without personal investment can lead to constant frustration and anger because the imagined outcome does not fit the reality.

I think the biggest problem with entitlement is that we sometimes look at the reward before thinking about the effort. Wanting something is normal, but expecting it without doing our own part is where the problem starts. Sometimes learning to accept “no” or waiting for our turn is also part of growing.

Entitlement is crazy.  It is like people think that everything is easy and if you try at all you automatically get to succeed.  Then when they don't succeed they go searching for someone else to blame in hopes they can pawn their failure off on someone else. 

Accept your failure.  Stew in it.  Learn from it.  Don't go searching for people to blame.  Once you accept that YOU are the cause of your problems and accept responsibility, the entitlement begins to fade away.

Entitlement spirit is like greed. Someone who has an entitlement spirit is more self centered and thinks his own first. He wants to be taking care of and settled before others. If everyone serves them, then it's better.

This is a bad mentality and does not grow the society instead makes way for troubles, disagreement and lack of peace in a gathering. Imagine someone wanting others to serve them, or feel that it must be now and attention must be guvutyo them. It's just too bad and should be avoided. If there must be peace and unity in a gathering, everyone must think of others and see how things can move smoothly and not having a feeling of entitlement.

It is absolutely true the mentality of asserting one right to things is a sickness that develops gradually.By the time we realize it a rift has often formed in our relationships and connections with those around us.This happens because we begin to view everything as our entitlement treating even the smallest things as exclusively ours constantly asserting our claims, or repeatedly reminding others of our presence and contributions drives them away.We need to recognize that not everything revolves around us and that constantly flaunting one superiority or highlighting favors done for others can damage relationships.Sometimes choosing not to insist on one rights can actually bring peace of mind.

I think this phenomenon has never been so present in society like nowadays. Generations Alpha, Z and Y were raised being bombarded by entitlement propaganda from the government, the media and their families. The parents thought to be doing something good for their children, protecting them from nasty experiences they had during an early age, but in fact they only caused harm to society, as we can see right now.

Then we have individuals full of rights who have little or none duties in counterpart. And of course a society like that doesn't sustain itself for too long, because it will cause anger between people. Imagine an entitled individual facing another entitled individual. They won't get along with each other.

Moreover, people with more reasonable mindsets aren't going to act accordingly to the entitled individual's wishes. We are already watching the constant fights and disputes between people for minor and banal reasons, as minimum coherence can't be found in human relations anymore.

Have you not noticed that people with an entitlement spirit end up poor in life if no one comes to save them? The world is full of people who want to gain from you, and you, in return, will have nothing to benefit from them. Not even advice that can change your life will come from those people. A person who has entitlement issues is a greedy person. They want to eat from others and, with entitlement that they deserve to eat from someone's plate. People should learn to cut ties with anyone who feels entitled to their wealth.
