Hello everyone,
I have released VerusMetal: an independently developed VerusHash v2.2 GPU miner for Apple Silicon, built with Swift and Metal.
Each GPU thread computes a complete hash, and found shares are verified on the CPU before submission. The standalone CLI includes the corresponding Metal library and supports mining in Stratum pools.
In a recent test on an Apple M4 with a batch size of 8,192, it achieved an effective hashrate of approximately
1.26 MH/s over a period of 67 minutes, with
76 accepted shares and no rejected shares. This is a result obtained on a single machine and with a specific configuration.
I welcome feedback, results from other Apple Silicon models, and discussions of Metal performance—particularly register pressure and instruction dependencies.
