All major crypto hack this year.

Series of cryptocurrency platforms have been hacked this year, and is not really a good sign. This has caused some of these platforms to withdraw their services as they have incured big financial loss as well as some investors. Sometimes am forced to ask if these platforms can be this vulnerable to attack, where is the safety of our investment, or does it mean they lack topnotch security measures to keep their fund safe, and also the funds of investors? However, I still think it is possible for these companies to improve on their security measures. When these kind of attack continue, it makes investors loose money, and send such platform to total or partial liquidation, and make investors to abscond for their own safety too. I can equally see the reasons why Bitcoin, and other cryptocurrency investors are warned not to keep large amount of their cryptocurrency asset with exchanges because they have been the main target of these scammers since they know there is always huge amount of fund in their exchange wallet. More also, I understand that there are some cryptocurrency exchanges that have incorporated cold wallet into their exchange platform, and has never been hacked since their inception, for instance Coinbase, and Kraken, I have not heard about any form of attack being unleashed on these platforms, and this has given users of these platforms great confidence in the safety of their cryptocurrency investing, and if the reason is because they have deployed the best safety measures, I think other cryptocurrency exchanges including gambling platforms should incorporate such safety measures too to keep their platform safe, and also ensure the safety of the users.

All these instances you spoke of here are man made, and can be avoided if those in charge of security in these top platforms are not unserious, careless or lack knowledge on how this scammers or hackers carries out their activities.

 As for the inside threat you spoke of, it's still falls under theft, because if you place a thief as a gate keeper, you can be rest assured that you would be robbed in no distance time, so those are the lapses that needs to be taken out, because these scammers are only looking for a loopholes or inside information on how to strike, so a single act of careless or ignorance wouldn't be spared.

Many holders underrate the importance of security until their investment is stolen from the same scam and phishing means they failed to learn. The value of education and information can never be compromised, especially in the case of bitcoin security because there will always be a smarter idea than the previous one that scammers will take advantage of.

Imagine a person using the same security system as ten years ago, or when bitcoin was created, and has failed to read more about security to stay updated? Such person will easily fall victim for these recent scam strategy because scammers make it look more legit now and almost impossible to detect it's a scam.

Like for instance, a person that is into Bitcoin learn about how to back up private keys and know what wallet to use and the ones not to use and the person that is into Bitcoin and don't know any of these can lose everything to a person that know all of they play on their intelligence on crypto.

Well doing what others can’t or don’t pretty much makes you special if you ask me…
But I do agree that scammers are just people, and the only thing that makes them seem special is that they are always patient, just like the predator, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike their prey.

Sometimes staying updated on the latest schemes may not really be the only way to avoid being scammed, sometimes you gotta think like them, cos the best way to outsmart a thief is to think like them.

Sometimes, these hacks happen, not because the platform’s security firewalls aren’t good enough, but simply due to minor bugs, negligence or even insider threats that gradually becomes a loophole and these are what hackers thrive on.

You made a very good point here. However, these are what I suspected to have been responsible for must of these  hacks that has happened for the past few months now. And I believe if all these could be put into serious consideration by this various platforms, it will go along way in preventing similar situation from reoccurring again.

Indeed this year was never a good one at all for major crypto holders and I pray the Lord grant them the heart in bearing these lost. Maybe, this will remind us once again on how important we should take out security matters especially as bitcoin enthusiast. Because hackers isn't smiling anymore, any little chance or any possible loophole can cause one a costly mistake so let's be watchful.

What they should focus on right now is thoroughly reviewing their security systems and making sure they leave no stone unturned. If hackers are constantly looking for ways to break into these systems, then these platforms need to double down on their security and make it as strong as possible.

If those hackers were able to infiltrate their security system and steal money, that means they have been loopholes in their systems.  I don't really know how long they have waited for the opportunity to hack bitget but if there had been no lapses on their system,they wouldn't have succeeded in the first place. So there is an urgent need for all exchanges to double check their security system because we don't know which exchange could be hacked next.  If Bitget and bybit exchange could be hacked,then other smaller exchange need to start upgrading their security,study what caused the hack and crosscheck their systems for loopholes and fixed them quickly before they are exploited.

It's crazy how Billions has been lost by different companies to hackers just this year, for Duelbits and Payy Network, it could be that same group pulled the hit on me them, what's more crazy is that people would still trust CEX for storage or leave their rewards in crypto casinos, likely for Bitget users, their customer's fund is not affected so they'll gain access to it when the exchange might be done updating their security by covering loopholes that could give hackers access, even at that people shouldn't trust CEX no matter how they claim their security is strong and use open source noncustodial wallets that's back by a strong passphrase.

It's sad to say this year is the most hacked year ever by number, but not by money, because Bybit had the biggest hack ever in crypto last year, amounting to $1.5 billion. This year, it's Bybit exchange that is having the biggest hack of the year. Is it not bad that crypto exchange are the ones being targeted the most by hackers

This year alone, about 333 hacks have happened, amounting to $2.2 billion in people's money through the stealing of private keys, hot wallets, and hacking of exchanges.
