Some people discovered Bitcoin years ago and held through several cycles. Others are still learning what Bitcoin actually is. Some came because of investment, while others came because they wanted an alternative to the traditional financial system.

For me, one of the most interesting things about Bitcoin isn't just the price. It's how the journey can change the way a person thinks about money, saving, risk, and financial independence.

So I'm curious to know

What has your Bitcoin journey looked like so far?

When did you first hear about Bitcoin?

I wasn't part of the early bird investors in Bitcoin, but I was also fortunate to be part of it today because it is never too late for me to have discovered Bitcoin when I heard about it.

I have also been learning more about why financial freedom is necessary for us and possible with Bitcoin, the importance of privacy, and why we can customize our transaction fees without paying inflated fees to any centralized financial regulatory system and government.

I also learned about the benefits of investing in Bitcoin as an asset because it preserves the future when you secure it in a non-custodial wallet. Bitcoin has been an eye-opener in many ways, as we can discover so many advantages it offers and looked into various applicable ways its best fit in for our use.

Growing up I did not really have a good grasp on what bitcoin was about, it always felt so out of reach, like something that was too expensive for me to get my hands on but then I started to pick up on crypto and what it was all about, from there I realised that I didn't need to buy 1 BTC for me to become a bitcoin holder, learning that I could buy bitcoin in much smaller units was what got me hooked and then this forum has been helping me broaden my horizon even more and the more I know the more I realise there's still more to know about bitcoin and I'm just going to keep learning.

Different investors actually have different story to tell, when I hard about Bitcoin, it was in the news, and that was the year 2020, then I never new how the investment works, and though I invested little money in it , but I so much emotional about it, but this very platform has taught me many things about Bitcoin investing, making me to stand firm in my decision about Bitcoin today. Am actually holding some Bitcoin today, and with full confidence, unlike those days when little market fluctuation will make me begin to shake, and even end up taking decision in a haste.
Actually, I have my own reason for investing in Bitcoin which might be different from some other persons. Because of the instabilities of the Nigeria currency, Bitcoin has enabled us to sustain value of our currency through investing. Which means even when the value of the fiat currency goes down, Bitcoin sustains your money on the long, and also increases it's value. This is the core reason I so much admire investing in Bitcoin.

Well, Bitcoin changed how we generally perceived money.

Then the most recognized form of money was just the paper money, we only had one view. Upon knowing what cryptocurrency was and how it works, alot of us had a better view of the financial system.

Who would think that something that will never be controlled by the government would exist, a currency where only you can have a say over your funds, except you choose to give access to third party.

 If I could go back I don think I will change anything, I will only wish I had met Bitcoin much earlier. Then when we heard of cryptocurrency we only pictured a tool for scammers.

This is one thing that many people don't know that when it comes to Bitcoin investment, it's not important when you started or even when you heard about it . What is most important is your willingness to Start, most people are still regretting why they were not psr of the first people who were part of the early people who started the adoption of Bitcoin. What is important when it comes to Bitcoin adoption is your willingness to start were you met or heard about Bitcoin. Taking a step is what is making the difference because if you continue to complain about missing out among the first adopters it's not going to make any difference, do your ability to start were you met Bitcoin is key because just as some people missed out on the first stage of Bitcoin . Many are still going to miss out on the opportunities that are available today and will complain tomorrow again.

Taking step is very key when it comes to Bitcoin investment, whether you are going to be part of the success story of Bitcoin is entirely left to us as individuals. We should leave the stage of complaining and take our future in our hands by taking decisions that will be for the betterment of our financial future, and Bitcoin is an instrument that we should take advantage of and stop the complain about missing out in the first stage.

It's amazing how I am earning Bitcoin as an income, that's a strange thing that could ever happen to someone, that's civilization if you really appreciate it well. I do define it as civilization because it's a new approach to a system that wasn't available before.

The used as store of value is another thing that Bitcoin uses to humble me, a currency that has many purposes- investment, store of value and cross border payment.

I don't really have a Bitcoin story but if there's one thing I have learnt so far I'm my journey is that patience pays off in the long run, a lot of people sold their coins when the market went through a dip phase probably because they thought that if they keep their investment running they would end up losing in the long run, they didn't have enough patience to wait for the bill season, this is a common mistake people make.


Investing in Bitcoin has also taught me to apply the consistency and discipline I apply in it into other aspects, if you can diligently invest using DCA and can be consistent with it you would gain significant results when you apply the same discipline in other things that you are involved in, be it business or whatever. You can use what you practice in Bitcoin in personal areas of life.

This is one of the useful lessons that Bitcoin has taught me, because this discipline is not only useful for buying Bitcoin. In other parts of life learning how to set a goal staying consistent and the avoid of making decisions based on every short term it useful.

Discipline also has to do with knowing how to adjust your plan. Like an example of someone  not having to continue to invest same amount if their financial situation changes badly, it good to be consistent but also you being disciplined to the extent of being sensible enough to adjust when some circumstances changes it part of the lessons learnt.

The storyls are many but the most iconic for me is to not follow the crowd, that's what Bitcoin has taught me over the years. Ignore the noise as nothing good will ever come from there. Having a strategy is better than randomly investing. Patience is something that's very underrated and all this are some of what Bitcoin has taught me.

I haven't been scanmed and I don't plan to be a victim so I don't think I have any stories in that area but others will have and  it's important to learn from their mistakes so you don't become a victim too. Being involved in the market teaches you alot off lesson which if you pay attention to, you'll learn a lot from others and you don't have to experience losses yourself.

Bitcoin is a religion not just a currency and when you start investing, you'll understand this. Don't be too hesitant to biy or sell, having a strategy beats any emotional decisions you take.

Yes, it's true that each individual has a different perspective and lession about Bitcoin since our encounter with it as a decentralized digital currency. And for me, one singular and strong lession I have learnt so far over the years about Bitcoin is that Bitcoin is not an asset whereby you borrow money to invest in it, since it's price value always fluctuates, and sometimes when you might be expecting to pay back the loan, Bitcoin might be at loses. So it is definitely an asset you invest what you can afford to lose.
