As investment no, it is not showing the progress like other shitcoins and not even coping up or following the trend of bitcoin for ages, so you can buy litecoin to make cheaper transactions with better decentralization than shitcoins that are centralized but buying it with the hope of making 10x or 100x is not really a good move.
How the mighty have fallen, I know that Litecoin was one of the top altcoins if you were counting their hierarchy but over the years it has not lived up to the hype of being in the same category as Ethereum, Solana and even BNB. It is better than many shitcoins in the market but surely not quite in the top altcoins league, for investment I think that there are better choices in the altcoins market but I cannot totally write it off. For me if you're not holding only Bitcoin you're increasing your investment risks, whether it is Ethereum at the top of the altcoins list or Litecoin somewhere in the middle or majority of the shitcoins in the market it is better to invest cautiously with amount that you can actually give away.

For investment, I don't see Litecoin or any other altcoins that is not among the top 10 most performing altcoins on coins market Cap as good investment, because crypto investments need long term to yield good profits to investors but, still we should not forget the high volitility and lack of consistency in some altcoins market infact most of the lack the utility demand to keep their market active., this is why it's hard to see sustain market buildings up with altcoins Litecoin price have not gone half it last all time high price.

LTC used to sit in top 10 for many year before dropping into the top 20 like it is now. So judging whether altcoin is good investment based only on its current market cap ranking is not really enough.

However you are right. Altcoin market lacks stability and real demand in a lot of cases. So which alts to invest in is still a personal choice. Its pretty hard to give anyone a specific recommendation.

To reduce the risk, I'd say OP should focus on projects with clear use cases, real demand, room to grow...

This is what I had to say
It has potential to hit $70 sometime in the near future, at least one more time, so worry not if you are holding for a while. If you look at the chart, $70 can easily be achieved

However, I am afraid Litecoin is going to be like those other OG coins that are not so popular in the long run, and therefore they slowly sink down the CoinMarketCap. Right now LTC is at number 21, this is a coin that used to be in the top 10.
For us that are also OG in the crypto field, Litecoin is not going to be forgotten no matter what. But isn't thread like this appearing after some time, actually helpful? That is because it allows who recently got in to be aware with it. The reason on why Litecoin sank down the drain in terms of CMC ranking, must be because there are now same utility coins as it but are now much faster and has lesser fees.

But in terms of acceptance by the merchants, Litecoin must still be the winner and this may not change even if we are now in the future. That is another type of publicity where other newbies can get curious and be aware about Litecoin.

Is Litecoin still a good Investment?
Yes, to a certain extent, for someone who is looking for moderate profits, not for someone who's looking for huge profits. Litecoin can't and will not go back to its ATH  in 2021; have your hopes on a low if you are investing in Litecoin in such regard

I agree with everything you have said but your last statement seems like equivocation that can easily make an experience investor to derail into one of these shitcoins that promises so much and deliver nothing. Litecoin might have lost its steam but there is no denying the fact that it is still among the established altcoins whose investment is almost guaranteed not to fail. This does not mean one should invest blindly, carrying out our personal research still remain a way of taking responsibility of our investment decisions.

Is Litecoin still a good Investment?
I knew about Litecoin few years ago, I haven’t been following up the coin, but I know it’s a coin which have been in the market for so long. I knew about Litecoin during the bull run which happen around 2020/2021, Litecoin pumped so hard during that period and got to the all time high of $413, since then Litecoin price has been dropping and we currently in around $69$. I don’t really know maybe Litecoin will be able to break the previous all time high any time soon, but it’s not really a bad coin, but we shouldn’t expect so much from it.

Imo, instead of buying litecoin, you are better off just going over to one of these launchpads like Pumpfun and gamble over there. I know Litecoin used to be the next big thing after Bitcoin and Ethereum but that was a long time ago. I think Litecoin died the moment  Charlie Lee sold all his coins and moved on.

You're free to share your opinion, mate. But always remember to offer a reasonably constructive perspective. You, I & many others in this topic agree that Litecoin (LTC) is no longer a top of mind choice for long-term investment when compared to some of the more mainstream coins today. But that doesn't make the tokens on pump.fun any better, Litecoin (LTC) is still superior to all those highly speculative tokens out there. So, I 100% disagree with your opinion.

I don't know how Litecoin (LTC) would perform in the next bull market so I can't categorically say whether it's still a good investment or not. But since Litecoin (LTC) is currently trading at $69, if you have money to spare you can start buying Litecoin (LTC) with DCA maybe in the upcoming bull market if Litecoin (LTC) eventually increases to $100 plus you will be in profit.

Is Litecoin still a good Investment?

Well, Litecoin is one of the most tried and tested blockchains in existence. Unlike most "meme" coins or overhyped cryptos, its supply is capped at 84 million units. In other words, LTC is scarce. Just like Bitcoin.

Despite the dip in market price (compared to its ATH), Litecoin has held itself considerably well. It's cheaper and faster to use than BTC. Litecoin also has optional privacy with the Mimblewimble protocol. I'm sure it will rise like skyrocket once institutional investors flood the market with their capital. You just need to be patient to obtain good results with LTC. Do your own research to see what I mean. Hope this helps.

Litecoin is like Silver and Bitcoin is Gold.
That is sooooo 2011 and I haven't heard this said for a very long time Cheesy
These first years narratives will always come back and come back as long as crypto is alive. The beginning, the first years of crypto is like a meta level, the source of everything - and that existed then never fully dies.

This is the reason why Bitcoin never dies (and Litecoin as well).
That's not the reason at all.

Bitcoin isn't alive because of some narrative. Bitcoin is alive and keeps getting stronger because it solves an actual problem and offers a utility. It also does exactly what it promised to do (a peer-to-peer digital cash system) instead of promising one thing and doing the exact opposite (like what most altcoins do).
The reason why others go on a downward spiral and keep going down and some die is because they don not solve any problems and offer no utility.

This is also exactly why bitcoin can die as well. The day Bitcoin stops delivering what it promised to deliver (if it stops), it will perish.

Sarcasm or anything of the sort isn't an issue, but you must always remember that not all users on this forum share the same understanding or way of comprehending things. I can imagine how a new forum user who is also new to the industry might take your response seriously upon seeing it.

BTW, don't think I disagree with you about Litecoin (LTC), because I also posted a response advising against buying Litecoin (LTC) in favor of coins that offer more:

I would have answered "Yes" in the era before Ethereum (ETH) & its smart-contract revolution arrived. However, things are different now compared to the past. There aren't many old school coins that still survive & still have the potential to go further in terms of value. IMO, if you want to make a profit, go for coins with better potential, such as Ethereum (ETH) or Solana (SOL). If you're set on buying coins that rely solely on PoW, wouldn't it be better to choose Bitcoin (BTC)?

Litecoin (LTC) is currently ranked #20 on Coinmarketcap, I think it's only a matter of time before we see its MC decline, causing its ranking to drop drastically as well.

Not gonna lie I do not think thats great advice.

Like you said, Ltc is trading at $69 right now and if it only goes up to $100 in the next bull market, that is just around a 45% gain. To me, that's not exactly a very attractive return when you have to wait for an entire bull cycle and take on even more risk.

If your goal is simply to 2x or 3x your initial capital Bitcoin is still a much better bet than Ltc or the rest of the market.

Is Litecoin still a good investment? Litecoin has been an Altcoin for ages and is reliable in sending cheap transaction.
Litecoin is like Silver and Bitcoin is Gold.
Is Litecoin still a good Investment?
Rather than investing in a new altcoin, or L2 and such that just depends on a certain narrative then Litecoin is much better to choose. Its existence that has been able to survive until now and continues to show the growth of Litecoin may be in a row that is worth prioritizing. of course, after Bitcoin, ETH, SOL, BNB, Litecoin followed.
