[Art Contest] CELEBRATING 66 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE

Bringing to you the second edition of the Art Contest in Celebration of the day that marks our Independence. As we celebrate the 66th birthday of Nigeria, I bring to you a contest to stimulate and display our unique creativity through the use of artworks, displaying our unique culture, and another edition of displaying our thoughts of talent uniquely.

Similar to the previous edition, the contest is divided into three categories; any of the three categories is acceptable for submission:


Digital Art
Hand Drawing
Craft

Rules for Participation

Must be an active member of the forum (Open to invites)
Full Member+ to participate
Alternative accounts are not allowed.
No AI-generated content
One entry per participant
Take photos of 3-4 progress updates on your artwork
Username and date on a piece of paper when making your final submission
Duration - 1 month & a week after going live

Note: This year's contest is open to the entire forum, anyone interested can participate.

First place - $40
Second place - $20
Third place - $20

It's good to bring the second version of the contest alive. I love creativity and I'll want to see the beautiful art works that would be submitted in this version of the contest. Last year I couldn't meet up with my submission, I hope to among participants in this version.

Don't you think you should've created this thread in Meta if you wanted the whole forum to participate?

This is actually a great idea, honestly I was actually thinking maybe there might not be any contest about Nigeria getting a year older but here it is again for us to participate and get a price. Nice work and thanks for the privilege of we showcasing our talent.

But I’m being curious because you did mentioned that the contest is open for everyone in the forum and not just the naija people alone. So the crafting and drawings and art, it is definitely something about Nigerian right like court of arm, Nigeria flag or any things that symbolize our nation so the other people from the other part of the forum will make the same drawing and crafting which they don’t have deep understanding about or it doesn’t matter they can draw anything that symbolizes our nation too.

Nice one OP. Can you throw more light on what to draw, because I didn't see any in the OP apart from displaying your culture. Maybe, I am getting something wrong here since, I didn't participate in the first one. You should put a link to your first art contest for more understanding to new members that will love to participate in order for them to get a picture of what to do. I'm not a good artist but I will give this a shot.

Nice to see the second edition of this contest.

Some few suggestions and observations

Include the link to the previous edition so people can track it easily.

I think it makes sense to launch the contest prior to independence day while winners are announce on Independence day or week later.

If the entire forum are welcome to participate, you should remove the first rule that says you must be active member in the local board. I think it's a bit contradicting since every forum member is allow to participate automatically qualify even the non active users in the local board to take part in the contest.
