From the time of creation until now there has been different levels and stages of development which has taken place over different century and times. The most civilized countries which the world is looking up to as the basis upon which all the world is referencing as a standard of perfection, such as the United States of America, United kingdom, Canada, Germany, France, Denmark etc all at different times came to the realization about self Realization and the need to be original and in what ever that they do. In this context I mean the totality , of every area of life of a people. A critical look and question about all the so called civilized people and Nations around the planet will reveal that such people been self sustamaince. Self Realization is the first step towards greatness in life which includes nation's and continents.
The most progressive nation's and continents has all come to the realization that, there is no way upon which they can develope. And make progress without asking themselves critical questions and having honest answers to what they seek. Countries like China, the United States of America, the United kingdom, Russia, China, Singapore, Qater, United Arab Emirates etc has all understand this fact that, the only way to make reasonable progress is self Realization. You can't see a Chinese, American, United States of America, French, Singapore, Russia and Chinese citizens claiming belonging to other races.
Don't get me wrong here.but what I mean is the percentage of the of the citizens of individuals nation's . The this context am concerned about the culture, thinking perspective, Religion and General thinking faculty of a Nation. All the nation's that are leading has come to the fact that they can't make any reasonable progress without thinking inward. Today if you look at third world nation's such as Africa you will find out that they don't think and do things like their ancestors .
Today you see a typical African Claiming to be a Christian, Muslim, Hindu of recent the Chinese is also trying to impose their culture into Africa. I Know my idea is against the general believe system that exists . And I will have many people attracting me on the comment section but, the truth is that for third world countries to make any reasonable progress they most go back to the ideas, believe and culture's of their ancestors. The truth is that a Chinese man always think like a Chinese before any other race, Religion, language or even technological advancement that they can get. The same applies to the French, American etc. Today countries in Africa are faced with terrorism and is busy killing themselves over forging cultures, Religion and ideas. This is a well calculated attampt by the the colonial Forces to make sure that third world countries don't have peace and progress because of the difference in ideology. Until third world country do away with the culture, Religion, language and way of life of the colonizers they can't make any progress just as we are seeing today.

A self realization is important for a country, cause as a nation you need to understand your problems and go build solutions that fits its people. But i won’t say progress requires completely returning to the beliefs or culture of our ancestors. While still having to learn from other countries a we can preserve its culture and adopting of ideas that work. Being able to examine those idea decides on what fits. Is what matters instead of copying everything blindly.things like education, accountability and technology can help to play a big role in development. So personally self realization should mean that we knowing who we and still open to useful ideas from others.

I get the point that, you are trying to make here, and get to reason with you but as I have said concerning third world country. Until they belong go back to the believe, manner of thinking, culture and ideas of their ancestors such people will not make any progress. Am not saying that a people should should not be open minded and try and bring in good ideas which could be beneficial to the development of the their race. But in a situation were a people had abandoned the culture, believe system and custody of their ancestors such people can't develop and make progress. The reason is that development starts within and not without. These forging cultures and ideas has nothing to offer than advancing their interest rather than those who they wants to buy into to their ideas and believe system.

It's important to preserve what is positive about your ancestry and culture, while filtering aspects which didn't work and don't apply to the current world. Otherwise, if you try to retrieve the ancestral aspects on its fullest, you are going to encourage more differences and rage inside your own country, because in previous times, there were different tribes, cultures and beliefs and those people fought among themselves for dominance.
The called colonial forces took advantage of that fact since the early times, so they could dominate the continent easier. The same was done in South America with the Spanish. At same time, the most proeminent local tribes made profit from this exchange between their people and the colonizers by negotiating the rival tribesmen as slaves.
Even though it's part of your history and culture, that isn't something you would like to retrieve...

I do not think that it is part of development for Africa to abandon their religion, foreign language and other influences. Culture is not static. Throughout history, every civilization has adapted to changes, exchanged, and transformed ideas. The main problem is not that African has learned things from other civilizations but that they consume foreign ideas without even critically adapting them to their own circumstances. Learning from others and copying from others are two different things. Africa can preserve their values, traditions, languages, history and identity while also embracing technology, education, religious signs and other things from others. Colonialism has no doubt shaped the history of Africans but there are other factors like corruption, poor governance, weak constitutions, inadequate education, lack of accountability and economic dependence; they all require solutions that Africans are facing and they have to take responsibility for this. True self-realization is not about rejecting everything that came from foreign sources; it is all about having enough confidence to decide what they want to change, what they want to learn and what they want to create for themselves.

I have a different mindset about the UK and the US, they are exploiters before they are self-realized. The British have a history of exploiting third world countries, their empire is built on exploitation. There is probably nothing new to say about the Americans, they are the nation that is exploiting Africans the most, most of their empire is the property of others. Still, I think they are self-realized, doing everything they need to improve themselves.
In my view, China, Japan, South Korea and Singapore are self-realized and more developed. They have relied on the limited resources they have to improve. The main resource of China, Japan and South Korea is their manpower, these countries are very famous for their advanced technology. Singapore has become a developed country today with zero tolerance against corruption. Progress is not a difficult task for the Third World either. If we can fight against imperialist powers and take a stand against corruption, we can easily progress by utilizing our own resources.

True self-realization is not about rejecting everything that came from foreign sources; it is all about having enough confidence to decide what they want to change, what they want to learn and what they want to create for themselves.
This last part has just concluded the whole thing, and I agree with you %100. A country that want to grow will grow regardless of the country that colonized them. African countries that was colonized by the British has lasted for many years but have not yet develop. They keep blaming religion and culture they brought and has changed acestorer culture and ethic believe but have not look into the civilization they have brought. The education, medical systems, communication system etc we where exposed and that alone is enough to continue from there, we claim to be independent but still blame our colonial masters. Now what are we doing to change the narrative? we have all it takes to improve but our currupt leaders instead of building factories in there country that builds things that will be exported to other countries, they built the factories in foreign land carry our raw materials and export to their factory in foreign land after production they still ship them back to Africa and they keep posting nonsense video on social media where Africa are religious and not productive when most of the biggest factory abroad are owned by Africans. The truth is that we are rich and has what it takes to make Africa great but we are greedy, currupt and don't take the blame but put it on colonialism. Burkina Faso president Ibrahim Traore is doing great and African should emulate from there and we will do better.

Self realization could be the way to accept the new things for them. That will help assimilation comes and only accept the good and leave the bad things so they can use the good for build the better for them. But it is not easy, some people will deny the new things. They says that is different for their culture, religion, language and the way of life. But in other sides, they can filter the new things so they don't use the bad because they realize the effect if they don't filter that. We see that big countries accept the change so they use the good and grow their life into better.
They don't have to leave their old tradition but they can use that together which can gives a good effect to them. With controlling from the government, they can use the new things for their country and not leaving the old tradition and that could makes their country grow.

You can only constitute change when you decide to ditch the things that done yield results for the better ones. It's a lot more easier to say something than actually doing it and if you see countries who are now excelling, you'd understand that they had to make some very pressing sacrifices before they got to where they are. Take China for instance; they were regarded as third world and very poor till Deng Xiaoping in 1978 decided to cut down and make restrictions that helped the country become one of the strongest economies in the world today. I bet no one would have regarded China if they hadn't made some self evaluations and decisions. That's why there's the saying that your decision can either make or mar you and what sets one apart from the rest is the determination to carry out all you've planned to, setting aside to desire to let ego come in the way of asking for help where it is necessary.

Old thing have passed away and I don't see why we should go back to our ancestor belief when civilization and technology have taken over the world. Africans cannot forget their cultures because people in the villages will always practice their culture and tradition. I don't see how all these are affecting the country economy when we have corrupt and heartless leaders who are after themselves alone. Africa should try and fight corruption and elect good leaders to make the country a better place for everyone. Leaders with new ideas and not the same old caucus coming back to rule. In my country, we have nepotism government and not the government that's been elected by the people.

However, I would disagree with one of your points. According to me, just by going back into the past age culture of our forefathers cannot really help in improving a nation. If you look at America, where they are not founded on any definite original culture however, due to being mixed up with every other part of the globe they stand well today. Backwardness of third world countries lies not only in foreign cultures' influences but lies in corruption, poor educational systems and lack of capable leaders.
The colonial mentality may surely become a huge hurdle, yet in this contemporary period what really matters is the acceptance of good things of outside world and using those according to yourself. Also in Japan or South Korea, through adaptation of latest technology without losing their culture have achieved success and can act as models for us.

This is not enough and still pretty elementary when it comes to what is lacking in most of the developing nations. for the most part, we can not even conclude that they there association for the developed nation is the reason why they are not doing well and even if we take the self realization much deeper, the most important thing for most underdeveloped nation is to understand that they are in a mess and that they need to come off it. After realizing yourself, you need to take action and actually work. if you don't put in the work and disassociate from anything that is associated with self, and immediate gain and an interest that benefit just a selected few, you will discover yourself and still remain where you are.

I do not think that it is part of development for Africa to abandon their religion, foreign language and other influences.
Our culture will always be a part of us, it won't change no matter what part of the world we are in. What happens is just adaptation which is a feature that makes up a human and like you said, development takes place. I think the main reason why third world countries are still where they are today is corrupt leaders. When the head is corrupt the system won't work. There will be no growth, no greatness. Most of the African countries that fought for their freedom then didn't get any better. Our leaders took advantage of everything. so not until the heads realize the damage they've caused, changes will seize to occur.
