What do you think? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
When one country has taken action to cover all their financial / economic sectors with taxes, the country will be destroyed from the economic side, what more taxes are charged to the community.

We take the example of the Dubai country forward and rich, the lives of their people prosperous and prosperous, where they do not rely on taxes, can be said that the personal income / income of the people there is not taxed.
Dubai International Trade and Logistics Sector Untung, Flights and Tourism Untung, Property and Real Estate Untung, almost all state asset and income sectors have a big advantage, Not the same as other countries, almost all the state asset sectors have suffered losses, the end of the tax story of the latest solution, rampant corruption, precisely the more severe tax of the people in corruption.

Some people think Dubai their wealth of oil, it's wrong, the fact:
Quote
In fact, domestic oil reserves are very small, and the oil and gas sector now accounts for less than 1% of Dubai's gross domestic product (GDP).

For this reason, the state has prioritized taxes to the community covering all the costs of the state, meaning that the country is on the verge of the hukuran. When taxes have oppressed the people who will occur actually turn off the passion of the people's work, Investors run, many businesses that gooll mats, loss of trust, poor people's purchasing power, if this situation has occurred in the country's economic degree there will occur to the country.

Many governments increase taxes with the hopes of correcting their mistakes.
Yet they never admit to these mistakes - mistakes for which ordinary citizens pay the price. It is a classic case.

By "mistakes", I mean reckless spending, printing money excessively, etc.
You’ve overlooked corruption, where officials at all levels steal money from the budget. That is the single biggest item under "mistakes".

In some countries, taxes are high, while wages are utterly low.
Because in some countries, taxes (often hidden ones) account for 50–60% of one's salary.

The end result? People get poorer, while the government continues to grow its coffers unfairly.
Not the state treasury, but the pockets of corrupt officials.

Instead of taking the "high tax" approach, why can't just governments control their spending?
That’s exactly like asking a wolf to eat fewer sheep. Smiley They can’t curb their appetites.

Like in the US, avoiding adding more burden to the national debt instead of increasing taxes or adding unnecessary tariffs.
Tell their president about this. Wink

Or they can just tax the rich, while giving a "free pass" to the poor (or even reduce the taxes).
Some countries have progressive tax scales and wealth taxes. As a result, many wealthy individuals hastily change their country of residence. Smiley Government attempts to raise taxes on the wealthy often end up resulting in lower tax revenue from them. Smiley The rich always find a way to "optimize" their taxes.

Although, this is very unlike to happen.
Such scenarios do exist (with the exception of exempting the poor from taxes) - for instance, in countries like the USA, Australia, Japan, and Germany.

Besides, you value fairness, don't you? So why, then, should the rich have to subsidize the poor (essentially funding the entire budget themselves)?

Higher taxes are NOT the solution

Countries by taxes to GDP revenue, this includes social security and is based on OECD so federal taxes would be accounted for:

Quote
Denmark — 44.0%
Norway — 41.6%
United Kingdom — 35.0%
New Zealand — 33.7%

vs

Philippines — 15.2%
Pakistan — 10.5%
Indonesia — 12.2%
Bangladesh — 7.5%

I kind of see a pattern here..... wonder what that pattern is..
Maybe countries where everyone wants to go versus countries where everyone flees from?

My god, does this mean that people actually are happy with higher taxes, god no please, this is blasphemy here!

The burden of the government excessiveness is always bore by its citizens. If they go more rogue, they go borrowing to complement their spending. They tax the citizens more to cover up and pay debts.

The taxation isn't only felt in the wages, but every single service offered in the country like buying petrol, taking a train, buying groceries and other house hold upkeep items. The taxation is buried in those areas and after paying taxes from your income, you still pay taxes as well on these other needs.

The governments may not be able to control their spending due to political pressure, weak oversights and inefficient institutions, borrowing makes it very easy for them to overspend which in turn affects their economy adversely.

Imposing high taxes is oppressing everyone. Because if taxes are increased, the possibility of their income increasing is very low and everyone will have to pay more tax than before with that income, so increasing taxes does not seem to be the right decision at all. If the government can reduce their unnecessary expenses, increase employment within their own country, increase business, etc., the government's revenue will increase and the government will not have to increase taxes.

However, sometimes it is seen that the debt pressure becomes very high. Even after applying all the processes, if the debt pressure cannot be reduced, in that case, taxes can be increased, but just increasing taxes without taking any measures at the beginning is not the right decision at all.

This more to the political approach instead of economic. The increase of US tax was coming from Potus's decision to increase the import tarif, which is pushing the inflation of goods to go higher. In result, the deficit becomes larger, then they have no choice other than increasing the tax for their people to cover their deficit.

It's also possible for government to control their spending, but this fully depend on people who ran it. Anybody who run a country has different approach how to control it.

If the government tax only the rich and leave the poor, does that provides any obvious solutions? If the rich are the only one made to pay tax, they can not generate the revenue value that the government wants because what you should know is that the poor are the largest compared to the rich people. If the government is getting a revenue of $200 billion but has a budget of $250B, to increase tax or tax only the rich people is not the solution but they have to also improve other sources that can generate revenue and boost the economy, even the excessive printing of money is not just a solution on its own, the sources of revenue for the country is what should he looked at and tax is not just the only sources that a country uses to generate revenue. Cutting down on spending does not also provide enough solution,  if for example the government are able to cut down some spending and are able to get $20 billion, remember they will still have a deficit of $30B if you follow the budget I mentioned earlier, so they will still look for ways to cover for it by either taking loan which is what they usually do.

Not only to control their spending but also not to add more debt. Because if the government revenue isn't enough to pay their debt + interest, it makes no sense to add another debt to it.

So, if they can minimize the spending and avoid additional loans I think that they'll need to focus in clearing the debt first.

But these officials will reason out on how they're going to pay debt and interest if they won't tax the people with higher rate.

It's a loophole of the system that always punishes the middle class and the poor.

Maybe I got the wrong information then, I am not into politics but I have heard severally that some benefits comes from countries owing money and taking loans, I can't just remember anymore how this debt on the country is helping but I am sure that this was what few people have said before.

I don't like high tax too because of the bad impact it has on people, it's even worse if high taxes are happening in a developing country, because with high taxes nothing issues been shown for it, the politicians still remain evil and all that, high taxes is shookng everything.

I think this increase in taxes and overall increase in financial standing a big misconception, increase in finances will always lead to an ever increasing need for more directly proportional to growing problems, if the government or an individual can not be accountable and spend £100, they won't be able to manage the increase revenue, that's why some countries are in serious debt but can't still see development, it's a virus

At times you begin to wonder; who are the people suffering the most from these economy? it’s always going to be the people, who are you going to taxe heavily? The people. The end point remains the people which ever way we look at it and so, how is that any help, it doesn’t work.

I think it’s fair to ask at times, what happens to all the lectures we had in college. We have professionals in these fields, economics and the very best of them (as we are meant to believe) are employed into the civil service job to ensure the economy runs smoothly and somehow, it never does. Nothing ever comes out as expected instead, we continue to find situations worsen by thriving circumstances.

What do you think? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I’ve been thinking about how I shouldn’t have to pay taxes if they aren’t managed properly.
Taxes are, in essence, a contribution from the people to their country as a form of gratitude—not something they’re forced to pay.
Raising taxes isn’t always a bad thing, but if they’re allocated and managed unwisely, it can become a problem.
In some countries, it seems the government runs its operations largely on tax revenue. That’s a sign of mismanagement.
The solution? Cost-cutting or increased efficiency—not raising taxes.

By "mistakes", I mean reckless spending, printing money excessively, etc. In some countries, taxes are high, while wages are utterly low. The end result? People get poorer, while the government continues to grow its coffers unfairly.

That's what happens when those in government clearly don't have the interests of their own people at heart.
Imagine using their own people's hardwork as a tool for correcting their own incompetence. And the problem is, higher taxes doesn't even seem to change anything. Take the US for example, they're literally living like a country that doesn't generate taxes because their debt seems to have no bounds. Perhaps, someone might have to explain to me what tax payers money is used for exactly because from what it seems like, borrowed funds are way more useful.

Quote
Instead of taking the "high tax" approach, why can't just governments control their spending? Like in the US, avoiding adding more burden to the national debt instead of increasing taxes or adding unnecessary tariffs. Or they can just tax the rich, while giving a "free pass" to the poor (or even reduce the taxes). Although, this is very unlike to happen.

Afaik, it's difficult to find a government that wants to figure out a long lasting solution to a particular problem.
A lot of them just believe that the problem didn't start with them, so it doesn't have to end with them. I don't know if the US can control its spending because it seems like they spend a lot on security related matters. The problem is that they're are not even looking for a solution to their borrowing.

Not all governments are taking the approach of increasing taxes, some government have actually made things easier, and are still maintaining 0% personal tax income for their citizens even with the high government spending.

I see it as a thing of the government decision, because a government understands better the economic condition of its citizens and should not want to intentionally put them under more economic stress and pressure. Only wicked governments increase taxes amidst hardship, when they should be cutting cost.

Furthermore, high taxes create opportunities for the black market and discourage people who want to earn money through work. This is how things work all over the world, and it has been this way throughout history...

Ibn Khaldun, who lived in the 14th century and is also known as the founding father of sociology, states in his work "Muqaddimah" that when tax rates are lowered, people are eager to earn money through work, but when tax rates are raised, the state and the economy collapse...

Even though everything is crystal clear, we continue to make the same mistakes. I suppose even those who make these mistakes are aware of it, but since they cannot find another way out, they follow this routine from time to time...

The debt of the countries taken by our government are usually spent for infrastructures and supporting programs that are for the people.

It's mostly for the development of the country and for building purposes. And that's why the IMF and other countries who became loan sharks to each other are there.

I don't like high tax too because of the bad impact it has on people, it's even worse if high taxes are happening in a developing country, because with high taxes nothing issues been shown for it, the politicians still remain evil and all that, high taxes is shookng everything.
For the first world countries, the taxes are high but it's mostly spent well.

But for the developing nations, the high taxes are usually led to more corruption and pain for the citizens and working class.

Why? It's because they don't care, and because they are corrupt to the core and all they want is to fill their own pockets and bank accounts even if they have to get their people go through hell. In countries where such things are common and governments just keep imposing higher taxes on the citizens instead of looking for easier solutions, the governments are corrupt and they don't work to make things easier for the people, they just want to make use of the opportunity they got to enrich themselves and give themselves and their families a future where they can enjoy their whole life without having to worry about money because they steal enough for it while they are in power.

It's not that there are no solutions, and it's also not that they are so naive and stupid to never think about better ideas of doing things, but as I said, they don't want to do it. If a government knows that the country is going through a difficult phase and that the economy has to be stabilized somehow, they would surely think of things that can be used to help the economy, and looting the poor cannot be a part of such a plan. Even if they don't give a free pass to the poor or needy, they can at least take some burden themselves instead of putting every burden on the citizens even if the times are hard.

Our Nigerian government chosed to do the same fvckery. Not too much has been imposed on Nigerians yet but they play to ser this carried out successfully if the current government remains in power.  They borrow unnecessarily just to see their pockets up and full but this strategy will never grow the country.

I have no words for the average American, it is high time they start boycotting these fraudsters taking their taxes to fight for an ally who had never done anything meaningful for them but rather help sponsors both parties in America do they can help send their debt high up in the ceiling. Taxing the rich will be a great idea, but so far we have not seen such advances made. All we see is one inequality to another.

Borrowing is not the problem, it's how they spend the money.
These days, governments of various countries at different levels are so incompetent. They don't even think outside the box to think about what they can do to make things better. The job of running a country or a part of a country is supposed to be a taxing and mentally challenging job. If you work in the corporate world, you are constantly on your toes to perform. If you are a sports person, you are constantly on your toes to perform. Even a musician who wants to stay relevant must constantly work hard, or else he will fall off and be forgotten, but when it comes to politicians and public servants, they are the most relaxed people, when ideally, they should have the most difficult job. They can do whatever they like and get away with it because they have gotten a formula on how to remain in power. All they need to do is play their politics right. Now, they forget about good governance and focus on politics.

Sorry to divert a little.
It's just that if the politicians were actually doing their jobs, they would find ways to make lives bearable for people instead of increasing taxes and creating new ways to tax people.
I'm all in on taxes. I believe people should pay taxes, but it should be reasonable, and their taxes should be put to good use. As it is, the rich already pay more taxes than the poor.

I hold the belief that if every leader in a country is actually thinking and researching ways to create jobs, reduce inflation, improve security, reduce housing costs, provide good amenities and elite education, then the cities and countries will be better. They need to see their position as being employed to a company and you need to perform well, or you will be fired. But for this to happen, the citizens in the country all need to come together and hold the politicians responsible. We need to keep them on their toes all the time. They can't be relaxed.

Very timely, our government just want to put more taxes to everything. They can't even remove excise tax and value added tax to our petroleum products when we needed it the most this time due to the war that's happening and the shortage of supply that we're having. All they want is to profit from the crisis that the country is facing. They are numb in the actual call of a pleb like me that we need to cut down the taxes instead of adding more because it's only adding more damage to a citizen who works hard just to survive, bring food to the table and pay the bills.

You are correct, and there is no argument on the side of those that propose taxes. If you look at the public sector, it is very inefficient and in some countries the number of employees in this sector is huge. It is all a big waste of money, and some of the worst and slowest workers are found in this sector. Governments should be reading the latest business handbooks and using agile methods, so the government and all its services must be as efficient as possible and lean. So they would do all the services fast but they would have a very low workforce and cost. The problem is that there are wrong incentives. Politicians and their parties can't employ people from their parties in the large numbers if the government is very lean. Similar to that is that they can't steal and move money to their business partners so much if every project is very lean..

Your ideas are correct, the main issue is how do we get to there? Income tax should be 0%, except for some highest brackets like maybe more than half a million per year for rich countries.
