Now this call have been answered by the federal government,though looking at the economy of the country the new salary can't still do much, but do we think this money can make a soldier at the front line do more? The increment is a welcome development and one of the best to hear that is if it will reflect in their bank accounts because the increment may be an audio increment as everything is possible in Nigeria.
The reason for the uncontrollable banditry and insurgency in Nigeria is not because of poor salary scope but  politically controlled, which is why even with the hardworking effort introduced by the military it still persists.
The only way this can be controlled is when it is not fuelled politically the way it is now and the military restructured to give room for change in power in the military sector because the corruption has eaten deep into the military sector.

This is needful that the government are supposed to do long ago and seeing the structure of the new military salary review, the government will be thinking that they have tried best by increasing the military salary, if we start analyzing the sacrifices that all armed forces do on a daily basis, you will understand that there is no increase of salary will be equivalent to it but for the sake of love the military and other paramilitary has for the country of fighting insecurity, so the new salary of  military can not change anything of fighting insecurity in the country because even without the increment, military and other agencies has been fighting insecurity in the country as best as they can and will should also that the same military works under command and once a commad is been given to a military personnel, he will surely execute the Job.

Salary increase is good. But we have also shift our attention to the poor facilities this people use, no better equipment to fight insurgencies, lack of amenities. So may loopholes here and there. And what is even the salary increase that will even make headline in the first place. Still peanut. Increase pay doesn't even address the issue that has plagued the armies for so long. I see no joy in here. Even the increased pay supposed to have happened a long time ago. So this is just waste of space at the news center.

The increments won't change anything, it's good the government answered and increased their pay but I don't think that will change anything,the inflation on goods and product are high even the money will not sort all their problems but it's just better than before , military personnel are actually trying, especially fighting for the country ,but because of the rate of corruption I don't think they will want to go beyond their capacity just because of increments that is been made,our government should just do better for her people,aside the increase in pay , their is still lot of things our government should do for those soliders is not really easy to fight for a society,lot of sacrifice are been put in front of them .

I wonder why the government has to think twice or be reminded to increase salaries of not just security personnel but as regards other sectors of the economy where be it that we are experiencing inflation that even minimum wage cannot compensate for, let alone those security personnel fighting for and putting their lives on the line for the interest of this country.
Even if the federal government increases salary of the military personnel, how soon will it be effected or how much is added to boost morale when all is not well economically with the nations portfolio management.

Increasing the salary of any worker will boost their moral but that will still depend on the allocation and the nature of their work in respect to what is given to them. The Nigeria security operatives are supposed to be one of the best paid workers in the country, but their salary structure has been a joke and no much consideration has been given to them despite the sacrifices they make. If the salary has been increased, then it is a welcome development but I hope it will be enough for them that they feel the impact of the increment because of the current economic situation in the country.

As we all know, as long as the Nigerian military is still dealing with old or outdated ammunition and surveillance tools, in my opinion increasing security personnel and their salary alone will not motivate them to face enemies at some point. Nigeria is among the best countries with a strong army in Africa but as the terrorism is increasing, the Nigerian government should put them as a high priority and equip them with everything they need to fight insecurity. Anyone found embezzling from that budget should be dealt with and I'm also sure that the insurgency may not have escalated to this extent if the government had done the necessary things from the beginning.

To be honestly speaking, the new increment in the salary of Nigerian army personnel is enough to boost their morale to do more than they did earlier. Because with this now, these soldiers can now buy more things for themselves and their family members, unlike before when the salary was just N104,700 per month. Because this is one reason why the United States Army will remain the best in the world, simply because soldiers the US Army soldiers earn more than we here in Nigeria, and likewise they are also privileged to good health care services and more.

The military has been underappreciated for long for those putting their life at risk to defend the country, this has made the military personnel's to begin taxing citizens at check points just like the police in a bid to survive the harsh reality of their working conditions. The increments is still peanuts, but it's better than nothing

The increment is not compensating for the high inflation for them, It would not do much. The children of serving personnel should have access to subsidized education, if not free as a way of alleviating the burden from the personnel and supporting them, there should also be several allowances like feeding, medicals, rent(for those living outside the barracks) and welfare allowances to support and further boost their morale on the frontline, knowing that their welfare and that of their families are very much covered.

The salary increment is a commendable one from the federal government because this soldiers have laid down their lives for the country and they need to be taken proper care of in terms of paying them a good stipends, this will further enhance their morals to work with all their heart because someone who is underpaid for sacrificing for his country won't be be happy nor put in his best for the Job so the increment will go a long way for them.

Another key factors to look out for in the military sector is good facilities for the personnel, some of the military Men don't have good facilities and good sophisticated weapons to combat with the terrorist, they have inferior weapons compared to what the terrorist are using so the  Army General should also communicate that to the government to provide them with good weapons, if all this are put in place for them they will carry out the job effective without challenges.

Haven't said that. Soldiers are like the front man in our a country confronting this terrorist and bandits directly and for this reason they deserve to be taken care of and not the other way round. However, if it's true that their salary has been reviewed for the better, then that is pretty encouraging. Because this guy's in question has families and responsibility to take care of. And again, they are putting their life's on the line just to make sure we are protected. Even though there still some bad eggs amoung them. That is a great one from the government I must commend. But I hope is something tangible because I know our system too well.

Welfare is important to boost the morale of soldiers, not just soldiers but every worker out there needs motivation to be out there. I know many of us will be saying they don’t give them ammunitions the way they are supposed which is true but does not t mean we should not commend the government for that it has done? It will be a misjudgement. Such welfare is also very necessary. Imagine you having soldiers who sacrifice their lives and time to protect the lives of others and have their boots on ground yet they do not have enough money to even pay for their basic needs talk more of their family.

The increment have been proposed long time ago, if actually it has been implemented it is indeed a welcome development, though i know for sure that this are APC campaign strategies because president Tinubu government have been saying it for long but are now approving it few months to election.

Meanwhile salary increment might not have much impact in improving the security situation in the country, what we need first is a complete change of mindset, the Nigerian soldiers must first believe that the government cares about them and their families, i have read news whereby military men will be short in service and the government won’t take responsibility of their hospital bills, some will be killed and left in the war zone without bringing their bodies to their families for burial, even their pensions are siphoned by government officials, so you see this soldiers aren’t well taken care of and i doubt will want to give their best for the country.

Lastly the government should provide this soldiers with good ammunition, the Nigerian soldiers are using highly outdated guns and equipments, they definitely can’t match this terrorist who are getting sponsorships, the Nigerian government should as a matter of urgency provide more recent ammunitions/equipments that will boost the tactical strength of the military, the world has even grown past gorilla warfare, Nigeria need to also apply technology to her military, like robotics/AI guided intelligence/warfare. The soldiers too must have to be retrained because most can’t operate modern day war equipments because they ain’t knowledgeable in computer/tech, imagine facing this insurgency with guns that some are tired with masking tape and red clothes, Nigeria is really a joke in this 21st century, sincerely a lot of work needs to be done, not just salary increment.

Effecting a salary increase is a good thing but that alone is not enough to helping our military architecture. after increasing the salary, you have to also make provision for purchasing the right military arsenal which are ideal useful to combating the security threat we have been experiencing.

Our military needs in addition to the salary increase proper military training, provision of military artillary, we have to also remove politics from our force men so they don't fight against a people that the government is already protecting. if these things are in place, it will be easy have a modern day military set up that is capable of fighting the security threat in our country.

Apart from the salary , I also saw a video on president Tinubu's X account which reported that he is building new housing units for the arm forces with their families.  It's a very good thing to be honest, because we need to treat the people who are protecting us in a good way. But that's doesn't mean that there will be a change in insecurity issues. Our problems like in defense materials and intelligence.  By now  Nigeria supposed to have multiple defense industries that will build weapons , advance drones, aircraft and fighter jets. That way the army will have good amount of local made ammunition that might not run out easily.  The importing of basic ammunition (like bullets,guns , jet etc) ruining our military and we are spending heavily to get them.imagine they are in a dire situation and needs more supply of military hardware that is gotten through importation that takes months to arrive to our shores. The presidents need to put this in consideration.
