We all know that losses are huge in Q3, the Bitget hack alone netted more than $300 million. But we didn't see the market moved an inch even if there is this biggest hack for this year. On the contrary, month of September is very positive at least 7%++ increased from August.

As for what is going to happen to Q4, we can only hope that there will be no hacks in this kind of magnitude. Although again, market is less impacted as compare to previous years, still it's not good to see exchanges or or anyone losing their money to criminals. This has to be stopped by services, they should spend more money on their security and it's going to be worth instead of losing like almost everyday to this criminal groups.

If these losses had occurred six years ago when prices were very low we might have feared that the people behind these attacks would sell off large amounts, causing the market to crash due to panic selling; back then, any negative news was enough to shake the market. Today, however, we are dealing with a market where Bitcoin alone has a capitalization of $1.71 trillion a figure that grows significantly when you add the market caps of assets like ETH and USDT so these incidents no longer impact the market the way they used to.

That said, we must be aware that such incidents only prompt governments to tighten control over the market, and consequently, we will see even more KYC requirements than we already do.  My guess is that things will quiet down in Q4; after so many incidents, the perpetrators know they are being hunted, so they won't make any moves. Since the market is large and remains unaffected, the price will keep rising until it hits $95,000 per bitcoin. I don't expect to see many of the kinds of incidents we saw in previous months.

The crypto space's losses increased by 53.9% in the third quarter, and now the fourth quarter has already begun. Do you think the fourth quarter will have any after-effects on the market from the third quarter's losses?

I think that has nothing to do with it.

Quote
Or is it that the way the market is going up, even the big incidents haven't been able to spread any FUD in the market so that people panic and sell and the market goes down?

If that happened in the early years, such an event could have had a significant impact on the Bitcoin market. But the market now is more mature, so even if bad events like that happen, they don't affect the market that badly. On top of that, positive news from institutions continuing to increase their accumulation and improving Bitcoin regulations, positive news like this has helped maintain confidence in the market.

I’m looking forward to hearing about new ideas that are truly useful and beneficial for everyone in the ecosystem not just investments. I also hope DeFi platforms and exchanges become more resilient against attacks; the potential losses involved are massive. If such incidents decrease, we’ll see a more positive outlook.

Am not an economist, But I Think that the massive breakout losses in Q3 will not directly or profoundly negatively affect the overall upward trend of the market in Q4 of 2026...
Because as we all noticed the market is showing remarkable maturity and resistance to this negative news without triggering mass panic that would drive people to sell.

The Bitget hack was the biggest incident, but fortunately Bitget reassured users that their funds are safe and fully covered through the exchange's "User Protection Fund" of approximately $464 million....
This reassured everyone and prevented a rush to withdraw funds or a collapse of confidence.

The market is not looking like it is obeying the bullish trend fully yet despite having a string breakout above $80K and stayed up there for quite sometime now. The losses in Q3 cannot be compared to be what should be expected in Q4, although the market is not still looking convincing enough to rely on it for an already bullish sentiment coming throughout Q4. We have been seeing the performance of the market so rapidly, but the market can somehow be scary and we don’t get to see the bigger part of what should be expecting until they happen. I am very optimistic to some extent but I’ll still not be shocked if we maintain an even level by end of Q4.

I hope that in the Q4, we’ll be discussing positive ecosystem news and exciting developments rather than hacks.

Well that's what we hope for, but with the recent spike in numbers and most likely with the help of AI, this hackers will always find a way to exploit every infrastructure. Not only that, they also include human touch like attacking employees of exchanges so that they can get their accessed.

It's going to be a cat and mouse game, defi and crypto exchanges should be the one adjusting, and as I have said, should spend more money in their hardening tools for their security and have someone monitor everything in 24x7 so that the exploits if can't be prevented, can easily be stop real time.

Or developed their own AI agent to stress test their system before hackers do.

Aren't most of these "losses" altcoin-related? In which case we shouldn't expect any effect on bitcoin price in first place.

in any even if they weren't, something that happens regularly that turns into a common thing is not going to affect the market. At this point people expect these centralized services to mess up, get hacked, lose money, etc. that they are not surprised when it happens regardless of its size. This is why we won't see similar FUD or similar effect of that FUD in the market compared to like 10 years ago.

This is a sign of maturity of the market too.

The market is still not convincing, and many people would see the bull season as one that should have a rapid parabolic bullish movement but it could relatively be a slow uptrend too. Bitcoin experienced a downside this year at $58k and have already risen to $86k, that's like a 48% increase in price.

The bull season pattern can be rather unpredictable and different from the previous season, so there is every possibility that we could be experiencing a bull season without realizing it, maybe it would not move rapidly like we all expect.

That sounds like a corrupt government that only builds low-quality bridge, road, etc.. And when there is a calamity hit, it all got easily damaged Cheesy. It was the public or the customer is the ones that are mainly affected on here. But they can still do something for their safety like avoiding those platforms they think are weak. But if they don't have other choice and still use it, they only need to be more vigilant, so that they can evacuate early before a damage or before more damage are dealt.

Like a true calamity, it can also occur because of a human action or error like they throw garbage else where and that cause a flood. So if we can apply the same principles here in crypto like we discipline our selves to not be greedy, then pretty sure crime rates here are also going to drop.

I think the market is reacting differently now. It seems hacks are not having as much impact as they used to. Before 2022, whenever there was bad news, the market reacted very quickly and people would panic sell.
Now, even a $1.26B loss has not created the same level of FUD. Maybe the market is becoming more mature, or investors are simply more used to these incidents. My speculation is that the Q3 losses could still have some after-effects, but if BTC keeps holding strong, we might see the old patterns break. Of course, the silence could also be accumulation before another major move down, so I wouldn't assume bullish yet.

The crypto space's losses increased by 53.9% in the third quarter, and now the fourth quarter has already begun. Do you think the fourth quarter will have any after-effects on the market from the third quarter's losses?

Or is it that the way the market is going up, even the big incidents haven't been able to spread any FUD in the market so that people panic and sell and the market goes down?

If we look at the loss amount, it is $1.26 billion dollars, which is a large amount, but even then we do not see a bad situation in the market, so will we really go bullish? And at the same time, will the market break the old patterns?
Or is the market's silence a terrifying preparation for a major crash?

Judging by the fact that one quarter of the loss happened in September 24th when bitget was hacked, I feel it's safe to say that the market will recover quite fine. Although Bitcoin price was arguably meant to hit $98k or so, this is a minor setback and would face out naturally. No need to panick.

Aside that of bitgets hack, I see a number of investors that have been evicting of network liquidation as well, which is disheartening because the number of them couldn't maximize the opportunity to trade and be profitable, instead there have been countless occurrence of trading loss due to liquidation by those that think they are more of a professional traders and other inexperienced traders that all constitutes the losses that we have in network liquidation and so on.

What pressures the prices actually isn't the hacks that happened, but the fears that way more hacks are coming with the development of AI.

Now there's particularly a lot of fear mongering about that on Twitter and in some way it feels at least partially orchestrated.

We've been through worse periods without this much FUD and with better price action.
