NAFDAC is trying its best, it is Nigerians that should not have the act of wickedness. In May and July 2026 over 7000 fake products are known. There was a time NAFDAC reported removal of over 10 million doses of fake malaria drugs this year and so on like that. Many people are arrested and sent to prison because they are producing fake products. There are many illegal manufacturing places that NAFDAC shut down every time.
There is a NAFDAC number on every products, you can verify the product through the product NAFDAC number on this link:

NAFDAC is working or trying to be active enough to combat enough Fake drugs in the country, but the corruption in Nigeria outweighs their efforts. Police isn't helping matters, even NDLEA. They know those Chemist shops selling the fake drugs, but instead of going after them, they collect bribes and lock up. Unregistered drugs are what dominate the streets. There's this app that is used to validate drugs NAFDAC certifies "Com-Watch" but before you see the drugs that it certifies, e go hard and wetin dey do you fit don kpai you by then.
Am not surprised about the bribery in all sectors of the personnels in the country even the NAFDAC department is also corrupt but some part of them are functioning the same thing to NDLEA and the police department but the reason why we can't stop seeing fake things in the country is because of high corruption in the country. So many of these people also get fake NAFDAC numbers attach to their products, most of the product we see today with NAFDAC registration number are just fake that is how the country is now.
If we have a lift of local tax force that are disturbing market women and extorting from them, what stops NAFDAC from creating her local workforce whose responsibility is to search out all manufacturers and ensure that they are approved of NAFDAC before they are allowed to carry out any form of operation?
It's not enough to know that NAFDAC is existing and is supposed to carry out this check. If they are in existence and are not doing the needful, it's only neccesary that the government put them in check expecially in a time that people are dieing daily as a result of consumption of fake and expired items. At least 60% of the items that are in the market are counterfeit items and are all dangerous to the health of consumers.
