Why it affects the ecosystem.
- The officers are not looking to help the market but to fuel their riches at the cost of whatever punishment the mass users face in future.
Aside the fact that this is corruption:
1. NO ONE who is investing is looking to "help" the market but make the profit.
2. Government official shouldn't use their rank to "help" the markets or enrich themselves.
3. If you don't see need of same regulations for everyone as a punishment, then punishing public officers doesn't cause a "mass punishment".
US exiting from anti corruption group however could lead to equivalent mass punishment, because it increases the corruption and makes punishing disproportional. It will hurt more smaller criminals who don't have the skills and teams to launder their money.
4. Regulations are tightening as we speak. That's why they are exiting, to save their own asses from future investigations.[/list]
