I believe the difference between the concept of branding and narrative is significant here. Bitcoin doesn't require a brand manager but individuals do experience it with the stories they hear. Price speculation can have a very different effect on a new comer to Bitcoin than self custody. Censorship resistance and fixed supply. The procedure is the same but the purpose for its use is different. This is why education trumps marketing telling people the significance of Bitcoin to them is not enough, it provides them with enough context to draw their own conclusions. Bitcoin's best brand strategy might just be its open network and people's first hand experience with it, in that regard.

Op Bitcoin don't need branding, if check very well Bitcoin weight advertise itself even without seeking for advert, there is no brand or tag given to Bitcoin that will Forster it's adoption than the way it's going, what ever human operation is made need gradual development and can't get to every height with speed of light. Your branding is all about education about Bitcoin some influencers now are doing some video article and all kind of information is those that seek such knowledge that will get it no brand that will draw attention without knowledge of the investment and how the system work it's knowledge that gives room for adoption, branding may have no impact on Bitcoin, before i develop love to partake in Bitcoin I saw some chart and economic growth of Bitcoin and how the investment is moving this cutt my attention with that know I get know it's self custodian an one asset will have some freedom if one properly secured your information to your account or wallet.

A branding strategy is not without its challenges. The major challenge her is finding a way to communicate Bitcoins deeper value without turning it to another corporate product with just empty promises. The most powerful strategy shouldn't be convincing people to believe in Bitcoin, it's helping them understand the need not to believe in anyone!
See, people will use Bitcoin based on their own personal needs, no one is forced to do so, but they accept Bitcoin by taking their own risks. So if you think and can see it, then of course you can either accept Bitcoin holding and payment system or accept Bitcoin as a benefit. I can say that Bitcoin is beneficial in all aspects, because Bitcoin is the only asset that you hold and if the holding is long-term, then of course there is a high probability of profiting from it. So no matter how you accept Bitcoin, Bitcoin will benefit you in that way, but it only depends on your own risk taking. As Bitcoin moves towards the future, its positive side is becoming more apparent, because establishing a relationship with Bitcoin is the right plan.

Bitcoin is already a hit and is making a huge demand already so there's no need for a branding strategy. The people have already seen it proven effective and profitable as an asset, and as a digital currency that is making borderless transactions.
For the people who are still doubting bitcoin or keep attacking it, that's already their problem. Any brand strategy will not change it, some people will continue to dislike it no matter how we convince them to start liking their bitcoin, and that's no longer our business to mind.
Brand strategy is still very important for bitcoin, especially for people who do not know about bitcoin or people new to bitcoin. The bitcoin brand strategy consists of it's core values, visual identity, core promise, and the education of bitcoin over it's hype, and that's an information that is very important to newbies to avoid having the wrong perception of bitcoin. As much bitcoin is widely spread and used in different continents, there is no limit to far it could go. It's decentralization is one of the most peculiar feature about bitcoin, and branding would help with creating awareness and educational programs on bitcoin.

This is why we dont make this a focus because every thought will certainly have many differences considering that for now anyone can define bitcoin according to what they want as when we talk to investors, they will make bitcoin as one of their investment instruments as an initial concern as well as for those who focus on bitcoin just for trading. It will be a different story when we ask bitcoin to the haters then their answers may lead to scam, fraud tools, environmental damage tools etc. So in this case we will never be able to unite all the voices because the pros and cons will always be there, currently bitcoin stands as a unity without anyone being able to intervene as for the understanding of a person I think it depends on how his point of view is so that for me bitcoin does not really need a special comparison because it is precisely with the view (even to the wild view though) that will add to the appeal of bitcoin to be more interesting.

What then is brand strategy? A lot of people hear brand strategy and picture something that's complicated; charts, business terminologies and even boardroom conversations. Well, it's simpler than that. Brand strategy is the plan, it is the thinking behind the brand.
Personally I think brand strategy can affect Bitcoin more than a lot of people realize. When people hear Bitcoin they rarely think about sovereignty or decentralization. Their first thought is crypto, speculation and price movements. This thinking didn't just originate from technology alone, it likely came from the stories people have heard about Bitcoin . Imagine two people looking at Bitcoin from two different perspectives. One as a highly volatile asset that people buy and hoping that the price will rise, while the other sees it as a scarce digital monetary network that operates without a central authority. The Bitcoin here has changed but rather it's the story behind it that changed, and that's where branding is introduced.
Obviously, Bitcoin doesn't need branding like the corporate world would discuss it, obviously there's no CEO to chair what a brand strategy should look like. You can't also deny that there's still a battle taking place over how people perceive Bitcoin. Especially people with little knowledge about it just relying on grapevine.
One can speculate in different ways is Bitcoin crypto? Digital gold? Internet money? An hedge for inflation? Or just another investment? Off course the answer people settle on will influence how they use it, how they trust it, and the set of persons that accept it. Thus isn't just about individuals, but also institutions and even governments.
I agree that perception plays a big role in adoption. Bitcoin doesn't need a traditional marketing campaign, but people do need to understand what makes it different from just another speculative asset. The technology and rules speak for themselves over time.

The thing is that people are very good in putting a narrative to the public and the general public or most of the persons in the general public are always attached to a narrative that suits what they prefer to believe. There is no doubt about the fact that people have already pushed the idea of Bitcoin being a cryptocurrency, price movement and high level of speculation narrative about Bitcoin to the public, but then this narrative was embrace more by a lot of persons because it's suits the agenda they were looking for, because before now the entire information that comes with bitcoin has been out there but the divisive nature of people selecting the preferred choice of information they want is what has made it look as though the decentralized nature of Bitcoin is not always talked about.

Bitcoin isn't own by one person although it was invented by satoshi therefore it'll have difficulties for it to have one unique branding style because of the different self acclaimed brand ambassador of Bitcoin. While you're putting efforts in showing the benefits of owning Bitcoin from the freedom aspects, others can be showing it from the monetary side and from what they're showing, it looks like a fast money grabbing opportunity that's to say, the Information being shared will always be different. Bitcoin can always handle itself that's what I always say therefore we don't need to brand it because Bitcoin does that in its own way to people differently that's why you see the community growling tremendously. While other assets need branding, Bitcoin doesn't fit into that marketing strategy as it doesn't need any marketing to sell itself. Your write-up is self explanatory. Like i always say, Bitcoin is a broad project that solves monetary problems for people in different ways. A lot of people have different orientation and opinion about Bitcoin which is understandable. In all, Bitcoin serves for different reasons which includes being a hedge against inflation, being a long-term store of value and so on. Decentralization is what made Bitcoin to stand out because nobody will intrude in your transaction since it is not in control of anyone including the government. A saying goes "a good product markets itself" therefore Bitcoin doesn't need any form of branding for it sell out because it is an asset that has stood tough moments but managed to come out bigger and broke ATHs many times. Bitcoin is far above marketing or hypes to survive, it is a self made asset.

Does Bitcoin need branding?
Someone can brand what they own, not what they don't own. Bitcoin isn't owned by individuals, nor by entities. So, the branding wouldn't work because nobody has Satoshi given the mandate to brand what everyone has found decentralized and as an asset for the future. The reason why people brand their products is for their product to be recognized and to build trust. Bitcoin has achieved all that in the past, and it remains the king of crypto hasn't changed.

Bitcoin is not some kind of product that needs branding. It's a technology and like every technology some people will appreciate it or just ignore. Indeed, Bitcoin is a technology, but I think you are missing something... the currency which is also called bitcoin. Bitcoin as currency is the product of the technology Bitcoin. Probably we can agree to disagree with the position I bring but I believe we cannot deny the fact that Bitcoin technology produce bitcoin currency. Though I still agree that Bitcoin whether a currency or a technology, needs branding, because it already has its own. I honestly do not understand your point or the message you are trying to pass.
You do not understand @OP, probably because, according to what you stated, Bitcoin is only a technology and doesn't produce anything.

Bitcoin needs no branding now, but many years ago it kinda did. I remember seeing some of the earliest Bitcoin ads by crypto exchanges like Luno and a few others. It wasn't really branding for Bitcoin itself, but it still carried some elements of it (I stand to be corrected). I think what matters now is promoting a positive image of Bitcoin's real use cases.

I personally think it is quite a strong brand already.
Bitcoin has a really strong brand today, that said I think that brand (for me) is separable from narrative(s) attached to it. There are lots of narratives around BTC ("digital cash", "store of value", "digital gold", "internet money", ...) and different groups will promote different ones. Protocol itself doesn’t change but narratives evolve. Maybe this narrative malleability is factor as to why Bitcoin brand has persisted because it does not depend on any one company to control its narrative and it has somehow managed to survive (so far) without marketing department.

Are you blind? Are you trying to boost your post count?
Or maybe the one who is blind is you? Maybe you should try and read my post again on what I said and stop attacking me with your nonsense response. Is that how you go around attacking everyone to prove your point? You could have made your point without trying to act like a moron. Bitcoin doesn't need a branding, it does the job by it self. Its name is already a big one in the financial market and even ranking many other assets before it.

If Bitcoin needed branding it was in it's early years of creation when there was so much skepticism surrounding it and that was the same reason why many of us missed out on holding it then but fast-forward to this day it has gone beyond convincing anybody to accept it as a store of value. A good product markets itself and that is what happened to Bitcoin, it's profitablity and historical data is enough to create awareness for anybody that truly wants to key into it's profitability. Holding Bitcoin as of today has become a matter of choice, it has shown that it has potentials to make it's holders rich on the long term so it depends on everybody to decide whether they are willing to be a part of the journey of holding and waiting.

But what kind of brand strategy are we talking about now? It's not like Bitcoin as a product that has a CEO and marketing that acts to promote it. It's just a decentralized currency and doesn't require any brand strategy --- unless you promote Bitcoin like a multi-level marketer offering high profits and all sorts of things, that's your own business and has nothing to do with Bitcoin. But basically, Bitcoin doesn't need a brand strategy and it's up to the individual to learn about Bitcoin from the information they can find on the internet or from people who knew about it earlier.

You can call Bitcoin whatever you want. However, it value and relevance still remain intact because it has always been in line with the protocol at which it was built upon, people cannot change its narrative because it is there to change the mentality of what we have towards how we handle our financial assets, it is better we make bitcoin more applicable on diverse areas and also change the way we think about the traditional currency and advanced to this digital model of financial economy on a decentralized network.

I agree that the importance of Bitcoin goes further than what other people label it... It is not only there as an alternative to a regular currency that has bigger value but it can also inspire us to have a new ways on how to store, transfer and keep track the value of our investments & savings. The better opportunity lies in finding more practical uses for it and everyday usage scenarios such as in the making of payments, international transfers and other financial areas. As digital economies grow more and more important, the importance grows for us to understand decentralised systems. Although Bitcoin may not be able to provide all of our needs, its basic model has already challenged the existing ideas about money and ownership.

Maybe this narrative malleability is factor as to why Bitcoin brand has persisted because it does not depend on any one company to control its narrative and it has somehow managed to survive (so far) without marketing department.
Just a shower thought: maybe the Bitcoin "branding" process shows how game theory can work out in a quite complex way. The different groups trying to impose narratives as part of the Bitcoin brand have different incentives, but all have "converged" to today's core brand which is more closely related to "digital gold" than to "digital cash". There are groups definitely profiting in different ways from that narrative. Bulls and hodlers, exchanges (because a high-value Bitcoin ensures there will be always speculation with it), ETF providers (due to similar reasons) benefit from the "digital gold" concept for quite obvious reasons. But governments do benefit from that narrative too, because the competing "digital cash" narrative is a much bigger challenge for their own financing model via fiat. Thus we could say that even the regulations like MiCa in Europe, but also tax laws, are very much putting Bitcoin in the "digital gold" category, while making payment transactions more difficult (due to the value tracking requirements). It would be interesting if and how the game theory in this case could "realign" to the "digital cash" narrative. An idea is if Bitcoin enters a long bear market, when the digital gold concept could lose traction. However, perhaps altcoins like Monero (which are more fungible and thus closer to cash) could be a tough competitor to beat in that field. With second layers like Lightning, beating it could be however possible (Lightning has good privacy and fungibility too and is more scalable than any pure layer-1 altcoin, even if the tradeoffs are not the same than Monero's).

If we want people to trust in it, there has to be some form of branding, but I still support your statement saying Bitcoin itself can't be advertised in conventional ways only by direct contact but still it can be advertised in a susceptible way through Exchange ads, that is when major Exchanges sponsors teams [in sport terms] halftime can be used to advertised and educate people on the value of Bitcoin and change the general perspective. Just a thought.

The exchanges are doing enough to give Bitcoin the free reach to people. They do trading competitions and rewards are sometimes given back to traders as Bitcoin si the price dump.will not affect some coins unless if they are doing promotion specific to that brand which they give rewards in that token. Before you see any token on image of any exchanges, Bitcoin will have to come first this is why I think the exchanges are doing more than enough. I will love to see brands like EUFA leagues give recognition for Bitcoin. I'm sure if they let Bitcoin have the space for bill board advertisement, there are going to be volunteers thag will make donations to have it there but the leagues might reject it. This will make Bitcoin blow up if they allows it.
