Recommended exchanges for crypto future perps and API trading?

Hey everyone,

Since the exchange Bitmex has closed last month (for unknown reasons?) Im searching now for one or several alternatives with similar functions.  It shoud provide an uncomplicated rest API for own applications and have the possbility to trade perpetual swaps with high leverage.

Which good trustful exchange(s) which are open for EU citizens can you recommend for that?

Among centralised perp futures exchanges the best MiCA licenced, and hence available in the EU option is probably OKX (prev. OKEx, OKcoin).

Although the decentralised exchange Hyperliquid is probably even more popular these days, perhaps the most popular one after Binance. It is very liquid and theoretically available everywhere as they still don't enforce KYC-verification for the users.

But both of that them does not have Mica license. So they are not good option to use, especially for people in Europe much better for them to stay on platforms which acquired Mica. Since this is what has been required and I think safe to use by them.

I think almost all exchange offers API nowadays you can use the exchange under the top rankings from Coingecko from this link below.

Don't forget to select your country so that it will show you only the exchange that works in your country.

For decentralized exchange, you can also trade on Hyperliquid, but this is totally different from centralized exchange, the same as Bitmex. However, it also supports APIs, and you have full control of your trades. You can also do Perp or leverage trading with Hyperliquid.

Hyperliquid doesn't need it since it is decentralised.

Theoretically its interface could be blocked in certain regions, but a simple VPN would solve that issue since as I already mentioned the platform doesn't require the users to complete KYC verification.
