It's been a year since BTC's last ATH

Exactly bitcoin volatility has drastically reduced because if we compare the last cycle when bitcoin all time high was actually $69,000 around November 2021, one year after that date the price dropped for almost 75% to around $17,000 one year apart. Compare that to the current volatility which the price is just 32% off the all time high as at today. Once can see that it’s more than twice the volatility reduction.

Bitcoin dropped to $57k in July before recovering back above $80k. So I think it makes more sense to compare the max drawdown from the ATH in each cycle, rather than taking the price exactly one year after the previous ATH and comparing it with today's price. In the previous cycle, Bitcoin dropped around 75%. This cycle, it's down around 54% from $126k to $57k.

But yes, volatility is gradually decreasing.

Now the question is with this reduced volatility will we reach the current all time Price faster than the previous cycles where the market spends more than 25 months before it creates another ATH. For me I do think we would see another all time before the 25 months if the market continues with this volatility

That's entirely possible, and this could end up being the shallowest bear market yet. But volatility is fading, which also means the next ATH could be significantly lower. We need to lower our expectations and stay realistic.

Institutional present and their funds "maturity" more of investors are holding for the long term, not people that buy for the short-term gains. Bitcoin has gotten global recognition as a store of value and hedge against inflation by many investors, people have changed from seeing Bitcoin previously as a Ponzi scheme to accepting it as a real asset class. Using myself, for instance, the way I saw and believed Bitcoin as of 2017 when I first heard of it and now isn't the same, I think this is what has happened over the years: we now have more believers of Bitcoin presently than ever, where people have learned to buy every dip in the price.

Bitcoin is capable of reaching an all-time high after each cycle, which has been proven time and time again. I remembered last year, last year at this time when the Bitcoin market was green, my fund numbers were also going up, this time was really enjoyable. Although I knew that I would not be able to sell at that time, but a kind of excitement worked from within. My relationship with Bitcoin began when the Bitcoin price was around $30k, from there the journey to the price of $126k was very enjoyable.

Dont worry, more ATHs are going to come no matter what happens. The people who are always waiting for ATH will never get it because they are day traders and not long term traders. The people who are not waiting for ATH will see it happen once fine morning/night because they are long term traders.

The more you stay in the second group the more chances you have at being the safer and healthy trader.

What we should focus on, is the buying of BTC at the lower price, because prices is lingering at certain levels and then dropping below that. Selling will happen when the price rises again to higher

There are people that says that Bitcoin can reach 500k or even 1 million dollars. Also it is technically an All-Time-High even if that is only $1k is the price that are added, given that we already exceed on our previous All-Time-High. So that was indeed a lot of All-Time-High's that we still can experience. Traders buy and sell quickly but there may be instance that an All-Time-High can come by the time they are trading. Even some investors can't wait for a higher price level.

Each of us has our own preferences. If one thinks they are born to be an investor, then they can always buy the asset or Bitcoin for instance, even if the price is not that low. This is what you called as the DCA method.

Exactly one year ago on Monday, October 6, 2025, Bitcoin renewed its ATH, which has not been surpassed to this day.
The price was fixed in the range of $126,080 - $126,223.

That was driven by a massive institutional ETF inflows and some political macros. However, the same political macros have reversed the price after.
This at least gives us a good idea speculating the next big run. Right now, spot Bitcoin ETF is suffering a major outflows and that translated into the current Bitcoin price.
Historically, October is one of the good month for Bitcoin. Let's see if Uptober delivers this year.

Wow, it's been a year already. BTC is trading at $82-83K, around 34% below the ATH. The low so far was about $57.8K on July 1, which is about 54% less than the $126K price. That is much less violent than the last few cycles where it was 70-80% so, yeah, it's a bit more subdued now.

But, do not get too excited just yet. ETF flows - a little crazy: three positive weeks in a row up to Oct 2, then $487M flowed out on Oct 7 after the Fed minutes, the biggest outflow since late June. Plus, a calmer bear market could also mean a lower next ATH.

I don't make any guesses on the next peak, personally. I'll just keep stacking and wait and see how Q4 does.

That is tough though, I mean we don't know where is the top and what will be the price. It is good if you sell like in the $120k last all time high. But again, very difficult to time it as there could be some of us that when we see $126k, we do hope that it can still go as high as $150k as that is what majority of us might have been predicted that time.

As for the cycle becoming less volatile, one thing to do is to continue to buy no matter what. Our profits might not be as high as the previous cycle, but in order to compensate with it, we should strive more that what we accumulate the other time around.

I think we could have some good news this December, possibly a new all-time high (ATH). The price has had a lot of upward momentum, there's more investment in ETFs, and this is increasing confidence. In the end, what's needed is more confidence in the market; this is what's required for continued adoption of BTC.

It's only been a year since it reached $126k, and those four-year cycles everyone talks about may no longer hold true. Now, anything can happen; a new ATH could occur at any moment.

October has some history with Bitcoin.

Well, out of all the years since Bitcoin started, there are only a few where we get a good pump in October, but that is still a good sign. This year it may not be the ATH, but it went up again in the same month, thankfully.
But we cannot just end our predictions yet. There are 20+ more days to come, and who knows if we will achieve a new ATH during that remaining period. Maybe it will help gain more investors as they see the hype going back again, and those who FOMO will probably buy.

I guess we are not far again from hitting back the ATH. Bitcoin keep surprising us all in several occasions. I could remember the previous ATH of $69k which later it fell down to $15k far below expectation but however it went to the pick and we hit $126k before dropping down to the least $65k or so, though I am not certain about the least price for the previous ATH but I believe we are not fsr from going back to the previous ATH. But I don't see that happening soon or  by the end of this year but possibly by next year. Lastly I don't see anything to congratulate about Bitcoin because its not a human being but just an asset.

Consequently, I don't see the price surpassing $100,000 this year; it might only reach over $126,000 sometime after June of next year. I view this conflict as a major issue for global markets. Until the conflict is resolved, the price will likely fail to break its previous all-time high. In any case, I buy whenever the price drops, so I see this as a good opportunity.

If the price drops below $80,200, we’ll see $74,000 again, and that’s a bad sign; it could fall even further and end December at $60,000 instead of finishing the month at a good price. I imagine the panic sellers aren't sleeping well; they likely sold quickly, thinking the price was heading to $60,000. Now, uncertainty remains regarding the actual price we’ll see in December; October ends in 21 days, leaving only two months in the year. I wonder what price we’ll see in December.

I guess Op was actually appreciating the fact that bitcoin had also reached that high value at the specified $126,080 Ath.
Maybe he's celebrating the day the All Time High was realized and believing in the future term that the price will continually surpass its Ath in regards that it continues to stick to the 4 year's cycle and the fact that the Etf can still influence the market with the high inflows in the bitcoin market cap.

No doubt wars put pressure on Bitcoin and financial markets in general, but they're not the only thing driving price.

When the Russia-Ukraine war broke out, BTC took a serious hit at first. But as we've seen, it still rallied hard while the war was going on.

I'm not too bullish on BTC reclaiming $100k or hitting a new ATH before year-end, but I wouldn't rule it out just because of geopolitical tensions.
