as far as I know, casino licenses are related to the operators that run the casinos, including how they accept bets, manage player funds, and manage their businesses. While game provider licenses focus more on the companies that create and provide the games, including whether their games and RNG meet certain standards. (CMIIW)
So basically, just having a casino license ore game license doesn’t automatically mean that all of its game providers and casinos are trustworthy. But, at least if a provider have a license and audit history, it can be an important factor in building trust in their games or even for the casino. Ideally, both should have their own standards and controls by having a license.
You’re correct on this take. They have different license since the one is for casino operators while the other is for the game itself but they do get license sometimes on same regulatory board depending on the country regulatory board structure. Most of the time, game provider gets license on different country unlike online casino that normally avail only Curacao since their games are being offered too by local online casino of different country.

Game providers license, it's normally per game, so for a license casino to offer a game, it must also be licensed.
No, you don't need a license per game, what you need per game is technical certification to prove it's fairness. Thanks for the correction, maybe what I read was wrong. But can I request something, can you please attach proof published online that says those are the requirements for the games. I understand your point and I agree with that, but I just want to verify.

Both the casino operator anf the game providers are licensed by the same body, the regulators but their licenses differ. The operators obtain B2C licenses while the provider obtain B2B licenses. Casino game providers obtain their licenses from the regulators to ensure that the game is fair and RNG-tested among other things. On the part of the casino, they obtain the licensed to be able to legally host the games from the providers.
I am confused with B2B and B2C when it comes to these casino license things. For example, when a casino offers a slot game, "Gates of Olympus" by Pragmatic Play, on its platform, it's not the casino that serves us, instead it's Pragmatic Play that serves the players from their server, right? You press the spin button, you win/lose, it's all processed by the game provider, right? CMIIW. When we talk about the money, the casino itself doesn't purely handle the money alone, right? They need outsourcing to handle it, for example a payment gateway, and they are not keeping the money in their own account. The only thing that makes sense to me about why a casino needs a B2C license is that they have the authority to approve withdrawals/deposits and to freeze users' accounts. For me, after I read this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5482508, I imagine a casino as a modular thing, like a puzzle. You can assemble it by choosing A, B, C providers in every category of services you need, like the games, the payment gateway, the referral system, the customer support, etc. Some may just rebrand a ready-made casino offered by white label casino solutions to make it easier.

Here/ All gambling software (for example, that which runs a slots game or sports betting service) must meet the Commission’s remote gambling and software technical standards if it is made available to customers, for example via an online casino or sports betting service in reliance on a Gambling Commission operating licence. Any such gambling software must be tested in accordance with the testing strategy5 prior to the game being made available to customers.

The simple definition to that is. B2B - when Pragmatic offers games to a casino, for instance Rollbit, you call that "B2B" or Business to Business. B2C - this is when Rollbit offers games to its customers, you call that "B2C" or Business to Customer.

I have always wanted to ask this question: if you visit some casinos, they will allow you to play some sports games and even some slot games, but some of the games' providers restrict players from some countries from accessing their games. Do these providers gain a general license or individual license from different countries, which makes them provide limited access even in places where a casino can be legal.
AFAIK, casino licences and the regulatory permission of game providers are separate, a casino can be legally operating in a jurisdiction and could for example have like 100 games in their casino but only 90 might be available while players in that jurisdiction will be restricted from 10 games reason being that the game providers of those 10 games may need authorization first before they can supply it to that jurisdiction. There's no general license that permits game providers to offer games in all countries where gambling is legal and many casinos are operating, but instead the game providers has to acquire individual licenses in different countries that it wish to supply games to the operators there.

I am not sure where providers get their licenses from, though. But those licenses are not quite mandatory in order for a provider to have reputation and trust... However, those licenses are necessary for the provider to have a wide public and accumulate volume from the casinos where their games are being shown. Casinos can survive without a license by their own, but it would seems that providers are more dependent of those licenses in order to have access to casinos and entire markets. Someone mentioned in this thread that providers licenses are issued by the same authorities which issue licenses for casinos, it would make sense if it was that way.
It will most likely be the same bodies that regulate and issue licences to gambling operators, although I'm not completely sure because it can depend on the jurisdiction. I never really thought about game providers needing licences too, but since they also need to be regulated, it makes sense that they would need some form of licence or certification before casinos can use their games. The only thing I'm not sure about is what type of licence they would receive. As for trust, I don't think it would work exactly the same way as it does with casinos. Casinos would still want to work with reputable game providers because using providers with a bad reputation could also affect their own reputation and potentially cause regulatory problems. So, using trusted providers would make sense for both the casino and the players.

Well the thing is most gamblers don't even bother to check if the game developers are actually licensed or not. And for that fact they often just trust the providers that are popular in major, reputable casinos. Basically it's easy to say when a game is everywhere, folks often just believe it's safe to play. That said I believe for the casino's sake, they wouldn't risk their business by using unknown and unlicensed game developers except if the casino is just another scheme waiting to exploit players' funds / scammers. Basically for well known casinos, that would be uncalled for because if something was to go wrong with the game, then their reputation would be at stake. So yeah that's all......

We all know that there are big casino license provider companies to provide casino licenses, Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), Curaçao Gaming Control Board etc. But who actually provide the licenses for the game providers that provide games to these casinos?
And like casinos, do you have to spend a large amount of money to get a license here too?
And at the same time, a question of consistency: is a license mandatory for casino game providers as well to gain some trust? Or what are the primary things that work to gain trust for games providers?
Gaming providers like pragamtic play also need to get a license but not for the gambling but they get a different one for B2B from the same Malta Gaming Authority and it is called MGA B2B Critical Supply Licence. And there are also invidual testing labs which is responsible to test the fairness of the results provided by their game which doesn't mean they can operate a casino but they can provide games to the casinos or anyone who needs it.

Many of us assume that license are required only for casino site. However B2B game provider such as Pragmatic Play, NetEnt, Evolution or Hacksaw Gaming are also required to obtain license.
Regulator such as Malta Gaming Authority, UKGC, Isle of Man, Curacao, Gibraltar issue these license within B2B category.
As prerequisite for obtaining license, game must be tested at independent laboratory. Such as eCOGRA, GLI, BMM Testlabs, iTech Labs. Independent testing lab verify whether game's RNG and RTP are functioning correctly. Licensing authority grant permission to release game to market only after it has successfully passed prescribed test.
And even after all this some gamblers still never understood why KYC verification can't be escaped? I think there is no way to escape from licensing because if these games and platforms aren't licensed people will feel scared of using them. It's not the same with KYC but those who go are responsible for licensing online casinos want them all to pass KYC verification or reject it, they need to comply if they want to keep working.

Do you check for casino license or the game provider license? As far as I know casino license is one of the first thing you need if a casino is a recognized one. When you scroll through their footer, the license is always there but I'm not sure for kyc casino, some of them don't have license and some gamblers don't care about it, there priority is to make sure they get their withdrawals and they don't get cheated by the casino especially if they are probably fair. As for provider game license, these are games that casino don't own, some casino buy this games from the developers like a contract and it's going to be valid for some period of time. Most of the games that you see in some casino are not own. The challenge is that there is no way to determine if the games are actually own by third part or own the casino. If you are winning and it doesn't lag, you don't have business with it.

And like casinos, do you have to spend a large amount of money to get a license here too?
So I did my quick research and it will cost around $5k to $6k for a bingo game license, if that's a lot I guess yes for an individual pricing. But for these casinos, it won't be that much. And at the same time, a question of consistency: is a license mandatory for casino game providers as well to gain some trust? Or what are the primary things that work to gain trust for games providers?
I think that this has been discussed for so many times and many of the forum members said that it is part of gaining trust to the community. Because if they can buy a license for themselves, that means that they are into serious business. Although there are casinos which doesn't have a license but maintained a good reputation for years up to present.

Game provider and the casino are different. Here I thought they were the same. If they are separated, I believe game provider should their own licence. They serve different purposes so license will be different. Game providers focus more of the fairness of the game. Casino's focus on customers. Game providers is a separate company away from casinos, but they serve casinos.

I came to realize that the licensing companies offer services to the game providers and the casino company. This means the licensing company's duty in gambling platforms is to audit the people who offer the game and the people who integrate the game into their platform for others to play. Licensing in general creates trust at first glance. Game providers that are without license have struggles with casinos wanting to work with them. So it is always the same for casino platforms.

True, I also don't usually delve that deep into verifying the provider's status. Just because any provider has good reputation, there is no reason to automatically assume that entire game or casino is safe. Provider's strong reputation is certainly useful signal. But it cannot replace independent evidence. That said I believe for the casino's sake, they wouldn't risk their business by using unknown and unlicensed game developers
And this argument isn't entirely foolproof, either. Even any reputable casino can make mistake when selecting or monitoring third party vendor. so relying solely on brand reputation is not enough. Operator's license and status, provider's regulatory status, evidence of game testing and certification are all equally important. After all, holding license and ensuring game fairness are not same thing. Even within UKGC framework, software testing and approved test house play distinct role. In my opinion, reputation is first filter. Verification is second filter. It wouldn't be right to skip second step simply because this game is available everywhere.

A casino license is what is required by the casino to operate legally. Casinos needs license to operate and so the legal backup that the casino needs before a casino can start operating offering different games is the Casino license. While the games provider license is the regulatory requirements that, a company that provides these games for the Casino to operate. A game providing company can develope different games such as Roulette, Jackpot and slots and this game providing company has to meet the technical requirements needed by the casino industry.

Official gambling operator license is a must for any activity related to gambling from the legal perspective. This legality documentation provides assurance of standard protection for the continuity of the operation of entertainment enterprises online and traditionally. Certificate of software development guarantees the fair spins of machines on account of technical audit. Strict regulations observed by both parties create a reliable environment that is protected from manipulation of computer systems.

Game providers don’t entirely need casino license, but they need adequate certification and testing to show that their games are actually fair, and secured.
Things like good reputation, working with licensed and transparency can build trust more than just license alone. Trust doesn’t come from license alone, its only when the provider has clean record and transparent game results.

First of all, are you trying to gather informations on how to become a bookie or game provider? If that's the case, good luck with your endeavors. Both the casino operator anf the game providers are licensed by the same body, the regulators but their licenses differ. The operators obtain B2C licenses while the provider obtain B2B licenses. Like Moreno said, both parties must get licensed, although it differs because casinos are dealing directly with the "consumers", so they get Business-to-Consumer license (B2C), while the providers get Business-to-Business--- it's more like the same thing that applies to the supply chain. Manufactures---- warehousers--- wholesalers--- retailers--- consumers.

You would had better explained what the B2C and the B2B is because the figurative could mean that they obtains the licenses from different jurisdictions. But I know that the essence of casinos being licensed is to gain legal establishment permission which should come from either the state, local or federal regulatory authority. That of the game providers may come from the jurisdiction that is encompassed to verify the technical factors fairness just as you mentioned the RNG. However, I am to believe that it is the same authority that issues the licence but in different angles.
