A good business doesn't fail no matter the situation of the economy

Are you saying that businesses that sell survival needs like agriculture-related stuff, are too good to fail at any situation?

Then why are we saying google or SpaceX is the best compnay not someone who makes machinery for farming?

Anything can fail, that is the fact and if you are too stubborn to see that and just do whatever you are doing then you will fail too at some point, keep adapting to the demand of your customers which is what we can say as good business.

Any business whether its small or large can collapse at any time due to any reasons. For instance, Kodak was one of top company in 90s who provide services and products related to film photography. The company lost major chunk of its business due to advent of digital photography in the start of 21st century. 

A good business is build on strong foundation where all the risks and loses are managed professionally and cautiously. A well established business is run by strong management who prepares themselves for all the possible scenarios. Every business faces challenges due to a bad economy but the one who survive those downward trends are the ones who are successful ones, they are always well prepared for the bad times since they have the strategies and savings to cope up with any loss. There comes a time where every business struggles due to struggling economy so consistency and determination is most important for a strong business. Businesses who are not well prepared for risks collapses eventually.

This is slightly different to compare from what OP had expressed, even though the logic is completely flase and coming from someone who don't even know what is business.

And another classic example is always the Nokia, they ruled the market but they thought they were irreplaceable when others are finding innovative models and found smartphones and they thought it is not going to capture the market and now we all know what happened to them.

Economic conditions can affect any business, even if the business is well known to everyone. In my opinion, a strong business can survive the difficult times than what people do not always demand.

In addition, before going into any business, you need to understand what people in that environment demand. You can’t just go into a business and start selling what people are not interested in. Even if I want to start a business, I will also consider selling something that my friends would like to buy from me instead of buying from other people.

The success of a business is highly dependent on two things,

1. Marketing and
2. management

There is hardly any business that is bad. You just have to be smart enough to be exactly where you are needed, where you can add the most value and meet up the needs of your immediate surroundings.

Even then, you would need good marketing strategy to compete with those in your field and proper management to ensure you stay in profit, relatively through out a business season. With the right tools, you can even convince people to buy what the aren’t sure they need, that’s how you thrive in business.

Right.  Inflation hits everyone.  Nobody is immune.

When price inflation takes off, the first thing to go is the unwarranted, frivolous and non-essentials.  Even a famous brand name or a giant balance sheet cannot save a company if its main business suddenly becomes a luxury item people cannot afford or justify buying.

In addition, before going into any business, you need to understand what people in that environment demand. You can’t just go into a business and start selling what people are not interested in. Even if I want to start a business, I will also consider selling something that my friends would like to buy from me instead of buying from other people.

With this I do not agree.  Look at the weirdest, most lucrative businesses out there.  They are not asking focus groups or surveying their college buddies about what they want to buy.  They find hyper-specific friction, the absurd, inconvenient things people quietly hate dealing with, and monetize on that.  Asking "what do people want?" ends up with saturated marketplaces and boringly generic answers like a coffee shop or a t-shirt company.  A real business sells a fix for a problem people havent even articulated yet.  Take for example Facebook, Uber, Airbnb, Dropbox, GoPro... I could go on forever.  No one asked for these products and services.  We didnt even know we needed them.  Yet, their creators had a vision that ultimately paid off.

So, I say... Build something so undeniably useful or odd that a total stranger in another timezone wants to buy.  And leave your friends out of it.  they buy out of courtesy once or twice, but that is not a sustainable market.

This is the reason why it is important to take note of these basic things when starting up a business, you have to go into things that are vital, food, water and other essential things are always going to be needed. One business that's not out of season is the sale of building materials and the reason for this is because shelter is important to have as humans and no matter how bad the economy is people would always purchase them.

Ideally, a business should endure even during severe economic downturns. when it possesses a solid foundation and stays current with developments. this may maintain a supportive financial position.

But, in some instances, business owners deliberately shut down operations. This is forced to cut their losses and pivot to a different venture. Thereby avoiding continuous financial hemorrhaging. Many prominent companies and merchants in my country have ultimately closed their doors. This was largely due to a drastic weakening of the economy, which severely eroded consumer purchasing power. Consequently, many merchants chose to close to minimize further losses.

I am convinced that these closures did not happen after just a single attempt. But rather followed a period of development and careful consideration, compelling circumstances ultimately forced the decision to shut down. On the other hand, many businessman successfully pivoted to ventures that is better suited to the prevailing conditions. Ultimately, however, a strong foundation and financial stability remain essential to fortifying a business.

For example if you have two friends and one is always being too tricky, greedy or corny, while the other is always sincere, truthful and honest, who will you stick close to more? Even when the money is tight and the economy is bad, customers will still spend their few coins at the store that treated them fairly and kindly.

Well there are many points listed here but This last paragraph caught my attention in all. Good business doesn't only build relationships they earn trust and I completely agree with you. Because I see many business go down to the mud just because they lack good customer relationship and trust. Atleast this aspect need to be studied to make the business fall regardless of the situation or condition

Then how do we discover a good business?

It is such the meet up with the particular demand and places with the opportunity of fixing such by the quality of what they are giving, with other factors being considered for the promotion and establishment of the business, that is why a good model in running a business is important as you meet a particular need in demand and providing a solution to it regardless of the location or the market strategy and challenges.
