[WARNING] Dark Matter Protocol – Suspicious Project

What happened: I was looking through the forum, especially the Service Announcements (Altcoins) section, and came across a Newbie account. The user posted a new project and posted it here yesterday. The project is called Dark Matter Protocol runs on Robinhood Chain but it doesn't seem to be related to the well-known Robinhood company. The site is also hosted on a subdomain.

The project asks users to pay 0.25 ETH for each ticket and promises a 10% share of the protocol fees. The website also claims you can earn from ETH and stocks. Promises like this are a red flag.

Dark Matter Protocol is a DeFi protocol on Robinhood Chain (chain ID 4663) with a few ways to earn:

- 10% fee share from protocol revenue — distributed proportionally to pass holders
- Think of it as a revenue-sharing slot machine: the more volume the protocol does, the more you earn

A simple look at the website, and it all seems hurriedly built using AI but the biggest giveaway is the domain name. I don't know if users still fall for such shady projects, but if they do, then it's really on them. People were so easy to fool during the ICO, Airdrop, memecoin, or NFT craze, and several years down the road, many learned their lessons and I don't think they can repeat the same mistakes.

The greediness for quick and easy money becomes a human nature; this is why old traps can still be successful to some extent. Only the techniques might change, but the concept is always the same. Note that not only greed but also FOMO are timeless, meaning new generations of greedy, blindsided people will always walk right into the next wave of traps. Nowadays we live with traps designed by AI.

Yes, the site is very suspicious, there is a popup that seems to force you to connect a wallet.
This practice is commonly used by scammers who try to drain when someone connects their wallet and signs it.


In addition, virustotal states: 1/92 security vendors mark this site as malicious.

That's correct, thank you for these additional points that support the fraud allegations against this suspicious project. Indeed, the popup may make many people connect their wallets and sign a transaction on this platform, especially since it says they need to do this "to start forging NFTs and earning Yield." So this is an essential step, and it is one of the major red flags. If the signature is for a malicious contract, it could lead to the draining of the wallet's assets.

The VirusTotal scan result is another important red flag that should not be ignored. A 1/92 detection alone does not prove that the website is malicious, but combined with the other anomalies, it certainly deserves attention.
