Trader "Frogman" wallet was drained for $4 million while he was sleeping after attending the TOKEN2049 event in Singapore. https://x.com/frogmanhaha/status/2107702850679943584Nine tokens were stolen, swapped into ETH, BNB and SOL, then moved through privacy tools. He checked his phone and email; there were no signs of hacking. He doesn't yet know how it was hacked.

I am sorry for his losses but I don't think that there is something to do with attending that event. There's a need to know more on what he did prior to that hack. It's possible that his laptop have been exploited already before going to that event that he didn't know. And the hackers only awaited for that moment in draining his wallet. There seems to be other people who's got drained as well. ( I got hacked and drained) although I think that they're not going to admit that they did something prior to that.

It looks impossible to happen, but he didn't mention which wallet he is currently using. If it is a cold card, then obviously his wallet was already compromised before.
But if it's a different wallet and known as secured wallet, then maybe if he use some wifi outside without changing even the DNS or a protection while connected to the public wifi, then there's a big possibility someone hacked his wallet, retrieving data from his device.
Some modems or routers nowadays can access devices easily and are available from the modem or router dashboard.
Or it could just inside job and spread FUDs to influence others to sell?

He showed screenshot of fomo app, which is supposedly an app to buy meme coins across various blockchains, maybe he bought meme tokens that got deployed maliciously or he exported the private key and it got leaked. If it was caused by fomo app compromise there should be more cases but it's only one case so far, I do think maybe his phone is compromised and when he tried to export key, the hacker stolen the info through info stealer but he himself hasn't explained why and how, it's only a guess. Or it could just inside job and spread FUDs to influence others to sell?
That shouldn't be the case, nobody is crazy enough to link their million dollar money to privacy tool which potentially make the money tainted and can't be withdrawn to normal exchanges.

Doesn't sound like FUD. So far, all we know is that he used the FOMO app. But there are no reports of widespread hacking. We'll find out in time.

He's dumb enought to moves all of his BP to his FOMO account while we know FOMO is very vulnerable to hack because it's the wallet provided by FOMO platform. The only thing i can guess someone might have access to his FOMO account, but just executed the hack while he's outside. I can only guess the hacker most probably his close person. I don't think he's connecting to the unsecure wifi, then got trapped by submitting his key to phishing site. lol The hack is also required the transaction permission, which is obviously somone got access to his FOMO account.

I couldn't agree more with BitMaxz comment, I also wanted to say that it could be an inside job maybe to cause FUD like he said or it could be someone who really knows him too well, was able to get access to his wallet and drained it. If truly they have investigated so well and there is not evidence of hack, then it's an insider exploit, from colleague in same field as he is, friends or even family. Long time ago, there was a story of how a wealthy man was drained just like this by his family that he had trust on.

The BP tokens were transferred out of his exchange account minutes before being drained. He said the withdrawal was initiated by himself, so he must have had physical possession of his device at the moment of the hack. Some people are saying he staged the whole thing. I don’t see what he would gain from that. It would be very costly to make his funds clean and use them legally. FOMO doesn’t support hardware wallets which should be a dealbreaker for anybody trading with significant size.

The first question: which wallet did he use? Nine tokens were stolen, swapped into ETH, BNB and SOL, then moved through privacy tools.
If this is the "Altcoin Discussion" section, you really should have at least specified which Nine tokens these are, don't you think? Otherwise, this topic doesn't belong here.  Maybe it would be better in the "Trading" section? He checked his phone and email;
A phone? Does that mean his app-based wallet was installed on his phone? Or, since he’s a trader, were his crypto assets held on an exchanger? If it involves an email. Then which one exchanger? And isn't it reckless to keep $4 million worth of crypto assets on an exchange (which is the most likely scenario here), even for a trader? All in all, there are a lot of gaps in the story. By the way, did you notice? The hackers left a bit of money for "Frogman"'s pocket expenses? there were no signs of hacking. He doesn't yet know how it was hacked.
If there were no signs of a hacking, then perhaps there were no hackers (or a hacking) at all? I don't want to jump to conclusions, but right now the story looks a bit "fishy".

Is it possible that her phone has been compromised with malware so that when she exports the key it is immediately drained? I'm sure Frogman has been using the fomo app for a long time. Or the scenario of his cell phone hacked by someone, by being able to penetrate the security of fingerprints or PIN codes on his cell phone? It's a bit confusing he didn't go into detail. The hack is also required the transaction permission, which is obviously somone got access to his FOMO account. All I know is security in FOMO. - FACE ID - 2FA - Passkey It should be safe, any hacker will not be able to bypass such security. Let's just wait for the results of the investigation from their team.

Obviously, it was a hacked on his end, there's no way that someone could have known his accessed, unless he told someone about it and that person attack him while he was away.
But the thing is that everyone is already stolen, and perhaps they could have traced it. But if the hackers know how to obscure everything and what bridge and infrastructure to use that will not cooperate with the investigators, then they can't recover any, sad to say.

Like when he's got drunk and it's taken on him when he's not around while sleeping. That's sad that he didn't prepared for how to take care of it when he's gone. Whenever we go places that we're not familiar with, we have to check the security if it's safe even if it's with a 5 star hotel rating. Because crooks are everywhere, hungry and wanting to get as much as they can. Mostly if they know that their victim has got the money whether in crypto or cash, they're not going to stop targeting that guy until they get money from them.

The timeline actually matches if it was info stealer, just two weeks ago there was this app called FomoPeek which actually a malware and have kernel-exploitation module that could steal seed phrases, private keys, and passwords inside device running IOS https://www.gadgetreview.com/fomopeek-crypto-tracker-hid-malware-that-could-steal-iphone-wallet-keysIf he was using iPhone, it's possible he installed this wrong app on the process, got his device compromised and the hacker simply waited until there is private key exported from the real FOMO app and steal it. Sounds like too much coincidence to happen but not outside the realm of possibilities.

At this point we cannot rule out the possibilities that it is an inside job because to the best of my knowledge Frogman, hasn't shown a clear evidence that his wallet were truly hacked, I understand he's still saying that he doesn't know how it happened yet. I know that people can unnecessarily want to create FUD in the market just to steer up weak hands to dump their cryptos which will create an opening for smart investors to buy dip. We can not also rule out the possibilities of his family, friends and associates who somehow knows how to gain access to his wallet and drained it, that is why we have to take our privacy very seriously. Frogman's experience should be a lesson to all of us that there are possibilities that we can lose our coins as a result of our ignorance.

People with large wealth needs to spread their holdings across different wallets. And with that message he's that there are a lot who's willing to help him with the investigation, I think that it stays on that. Because recovery is a different thing that he might not get any longer. With this amount that the hackers took from him, I doubt that they'll return any amount to him. Frogman's experience should be a lesson to all of us that there are possibilities that we can lose our coins as a result of our ignorance.
Not only from ignorance but also from being confident with "just okay" way of keeping our funds in our chosen wallets and how we keep it in practice.

I saw a couple of people saying there might be a plot twist about this hack that he might have staged a hack just so he could avoid being seen as a bad person for dumping on his followers as well as doing it to avoid tax. I guess we will never know but I still don't understand why he was holding that much in one wallet anyone instead of spreading it around which is something very common with memecoin traders.

Since it is not yet verify the guy wallet was hack, and if the people that is helping the guy his wallet was drained carry out investigation conclude their investigation and they found out truly the guy did not lost his $4 million through hack, then i could say someone close to the guy must have got hold of his wallet private key or seed phrase and the person was just waiting for him to attend TOKEN2049 so that he can import his wallet and steal the nine tokens in the wallet.
