The censorship resistance of bitcoin isn't part of freedom of this speech you're campaign but how bitcoin can't be controlled by any authority.
When you think about it, you'd understand that it is kind of related. BTC is censorship resistant and permissionless, allowing you to move funds on-chain, without the permission of any entity, not even the government. You'd feel more confident opposing a stronger force, when you know they do not simply hold the power to cut and confiscate your funding.

I get it, that's not what you'd directly call 'freedom of speech'. But i like the idea that it is possible for people to fund a cause through BTC, even when the authorities don't agree with it. However, if i had a say, i'd wish it was always for a 'good' cause, but that's discussion for another day.

Now tell me what would you call this hypothetical "Freedom Movement of Germany"? "Opposition" or a "foreign-funded terrorist group"?

I think there is a difference here. One can rightly oppose one’s government without justifying all acts committed by those acting in the name of opposition. A group engaged in bombing, assassination, or aiding a foreign power war against its own nation should not be referred to merely as “opposition” if we take words to mean something about what they are doing, rather than simply who they oppose. And this should apply equally with respect to any nation or foreign power.

One thing we need to understand is that Bitcoin is not just about investment or making profit to me it is far beyond that and it is about about financial freedom and having control over your own money at least no local bank ro debit pr call you for unecessary reasons and with it you can make transactions across borders without needing permission from a bank or relying on any authority to process your transaction but then we need to also understand that censorship resistance doesn’t mean governments have no power at all, they still have the right to regulate exchanges and can still restrict your access to certain services, just that they won’t be able to control the Bitcoin network the same way they may be able to control our local banks and thats just it.

Well that's the only type of "opposition" that they like and is beneficial to them.

The ugly nature of these organizations is crystal clear. None of them are actually concerned about human rights violations because if they were they would have started from back home not abroad. I can think of dozens of human rights violations off the top of my head in the US in this year alone where HRF is located and nary a case can be found on their website from US or pretty much from any of US vassal states.

Things get even more interesting when we learn that all these countries that run such fake "humanitarian" organizations to operate against other countries have some sort of strict laws to prevent the reversal of such thing happening to them! They'll probably indict any of their own citizens who receives such funding from a "foreign organization" under the very strict Foreign Agents Act and prosecute them for not registering as a foreign agent Cheesy

At the very least, it is reasonable to question whether foreign funding from political groups overseas should be treated any differently than if they were domestic groups. If we view the presence of such funding as a potential threat to democracy, shouldn't that logic also be applied when we consider foreign funding for groups that support organizations overseas? Their sources of funding and their activities should be made public, and the same scrutiny should apply regardless of the country in question.

Well that's great observation, especially for pointing  out their so selective concerns.

Those organizations is to hypocrite to interfere and highlight the abuse happening on other territory, but they are to silent with abuses happened in their own backyards.

Actually their double standards affect a lot their credibility. Then totally irony for US to be so strict with their law FARA, but they are to selective when imposing this. This is why its hard to see if their actions is genuine or they are using that to attack their target countries.

For example Human Rights Foundation accepts BTC donations which it uses to fund opposition groups in Nigeria Russia Belarus Hong Kong etc.
That is a U.S. based terrorist organization that funds terrorist groups disguised as "opposition" in only certain countries so that these US proxies can carry out regime change operations or at least deal damage.
Interesting opinion. Can you give an example where these foundations have funded terrorist groups disguised as "opposition" in the past, just so that they accomplish a higher goal for US authorities?

It's interesting, because Human Rights Foundation has funded the development of a host variety of Bitcoin projects, including signing devices such as SeedSigner: https://hrf.org/latest/hrf-bitcoin-development-fund-grants-325000-to-projects-worldwide/.

Some cases of their "opposition" is assassinating scientists and university professors, bombing hospitals, destroying bridges, espionage, ... and one of their most recent "protest acts" was to blow up a power plant that is currently keeping the lights on in your home letting you post here!
Is that really what the HRF does or supports?

Of course the US has funded and is funding organizations which are/were violent and I would have labeled terrorist. But according what I read, bombings in Iran were carried out by the American and Israeli military, not by opposition groups. So it's very much a "bad government(s) vs. bad government(s)" constellation.

I just think Bitcoin donations to fund opposition groups in any region, even in "mediocre" countries, should not be viewed as something negative, even if it's carried out via organizations like the HRF who may be biased in some conflicts. Most opposition groups are not really violent. I dislike hypocrisy of some "western" media too but just taking the opposite side defending bad non-western governments is not solving anything. IMO it just helps the status quo and thus ensures the continuity of US/"Western" supremacy.

What Bitcoin (and privacy coins) "solve" in this context is that strict authoritarian control of money flows isn't possible anymore. Instead of powerful states, people themselves decide who they want to fund and how, and nobody can close their accounts (blacklisting of keys isn't possible with BTC). Will some of that (crypto) money also end up in terrorist groups? Perhaps. But I guess terrorists are disliked by 99% of "the people" while "bad governments" sometimes view them as strategic allies. And thus a "Bitcoin dominanted financial world" would be less prone to terrorism as a financial world dominated by the US or any other authoritarian government.

These countries are only those that refuse to bow down to the US regime and its global oppression. Otherwise you never see them say anything about for example France which right now is shooting kids on the streets as we speak and has already maimed thousands of schoolchildren.

All US based terrorist organizations that perform such operations overseas use pretty words such as "human rights", "democracy" and so on.

That is very true the United States of America has become a Lord over every country, especially under this present regime of Donald Trump where America can capture any world leaders that disagree with them, and use military actions against any country that doesn't agree with them on issues. The fact is that some of these so called organization seen by people to be humanitarian in nature are actually U.S funded organization with the sole aim of spreading their interest in the international community. That is why we see biased in the way and manner that these organization even carry out their activities across the world. The truth is that any country that doesn't agree with America or don't summit to them organizations like this are used as proxies in funding the distebilization of such countries, U.S allies such as France has been financing terrorist activities in West Africa do that they can still have country and keep looking the resources of African countries but, the so called United States is doing as if they don't even know or see what is happening.

Is that really what the HRF does or supports?
HRF (and other organizations like it) does not publicly disclose a list of foreign groups they support. Publicly they prefer the focus to be on peaceful-looking things like their Bitcoin Development Funds and AI for Individuals programs as a front.
Otherwise if they publicly disclose such things, it will have severe legal consequences for them each time one of those individuals or groups breaks the law and does something nasty. They can be brought to court (in US or international courts) and easily be accused of funding terrorism. Additionally it may also force those groups to be registered as "Foreign Agents" since other countries have similar laws to FARA too.

I analyzed their website regarding Iran and I can tell you with confidence that their approach is completely dictated by the US regime and even the language used is what CIA dictates as part of the regime's policy of aggression towards Iran. These organizations are basically the fake legal face the regime uses to justify its economic terrorism against Iranian people (sanctions with a human rights violation excuse).

Lets analyze an actual example: Shanbehzadeh.
This dude wasn't some covert Zionist operative. This moron publicly boasted about being funded by them on social media. Something he was never arrested for by the way. Then when the time came to activate what I explained in my topic here as a network of sleeper terrorist cells, as a chief operative he was ordered by his Zionist masters to signal the activation to the cells. Something that let to his arrest 9 days before his network could activate and deal any damage.
I obviously don't have access to the case for further details but I don't have to. This is exactly what he posted on his social media which are Chief Zionist Hakham's orders and it doesn't get clearer than this:
Quote
The timing and the language used in it tells us everything we need to know. This was clearly a signal to activate their terrorist cells. Back in June 2025, these terrorist cells were tasked to start a chaos in various cities to distract everyone from the attack and also other groups were tasked to use FPV (small drones) to overwhelm Iran's highly sophisticated air-defense so that US military launched projectiles can get through the extremely difficult-to-penetrate Iran's layered air-defense.

I've already wrote a comprehensive analysis and drew a crude timeline of it:

Now does HRF mention any of this including the part about murdering "children, rescue workers and women" (تا کودکان، امدادگران و زنان بکشند) in its articles? Hell No! Cheesy
This Zionist terrorist-operative is referred to as some innocent online activist who was "unlawfully and arbitrarily detained"! And not-surprising at all, under the articles HRF says that the grants are being provided by Templeton foundation... a foundation with direct links to Israel...

Then these things are brought to for example UN and used as evidence to first brand Iran arbitrarily as "authoritarian" and then support the economic terrorism against Iranian people through sanctions. Something the US regime uses to create unrest in Iran as part of its long "regime change" wishes.

Of course the US has funded and is funding organizations which are/were violent and I would have labeled terrorist. But according what I read, bombings in Iran were carried out by the American and Israeli military, not by opposition groups.
The US regime's aggression toward Iran didn't start recently. It has been going on for decades. Every word I used in the hypothetical example I gave you above was intentional. It is based on a real terrorist organization that is fully supported and funded by the West called MEK. It's main headquarters are currently in Europe (Albania and France) and they have cells in Germany and Sweden as well.
All the attack cases I mentioned above are real as well, that's decades of assassinations, bombings, espionage, etc.

For example:
(1) The attacks on power plants was a series of attacks from ~4 years ago. I even wrote about it in this board since by that time people were talking about Iran's temporary ban on bitcoin mining due to power outage. These terrorist attacks were contributing to the existing problem.
(2) Attacking hospitals is their bread and butter too! One of the most atrocious thing the MEK terrorists have done was from early days of their establishment when they entered Iran from Iraq (their HQ was there during Saddam's reign) and attacked a hospital in Kermanshah (in a city in west of Iran) and murdered anybody they could and then burnt any bed ridden patient to death alongside the hospital itself.

And regarding the recent aggression... You see, the US regime knows very well that militarily, it is too weak even with the entire NATO to even put a dent in Iran's military might let alone win against Iran. So their plan has always been to weaken and maybe even destroy Iran from within. A strategy they've used in many other places like Syria. This is the reason for decades of economic terrorism, medical terrorism, propaganda and brainwashing campaigns, all these terrorist cells that they use as proxy, and so on.
This also explains why in all their attacks majority of their targets were civilians. Like the one everyone already knows: the Minab elementary school. It is part of the delusioans of the US regime that thinks it works against Iranians.

If you follow pedophile POTUS's tweets you can even see that delusion. For example they started terrorist attacks on February 28, 2026 thinking they can end Iran in 2-3 days hoping that decades of American economic terrorism has made Iranians hate their own government so much so to overthrow it themselves!
  • On the first day millions of Iranians flooded the streets but in support of their government. And knowing what the US regime had done in June 2025, they started establishing "checkpoints" to prevent US regime's un-dismantled terrorist cells from doing anything. This is when the pedophile POTUS was tweeting "unconditional surrender".
  • By the second day as Iran continued an extremely deadly retaliatory punishment of the US regime across the entire West Asia and the US casualties were already in triple digits you could clearly see the pedophile POTUS begging Iranians to overthrow their government so that the retaliatory strikes stop!!!
  • By day ~10 when the main US military (CENTCOM) bases were deleted from maps, the US regime that was getting desperate started bombing these checkpoints desperately hoping its terrorist cells can activate if they removed that. But the only result was that the number of Iranians who were volunteering to handle those checkpoints skyrocketed and the total number of people on the streets surpassed 50 million.
So you see the strikes the weak US military carried out against Iran (usually from far away using long range million dollar missiles) had another accompanying arm that was active and effective back in 2025 (even though it failed) and inactive and ineffective arm in 2026 but it was there. This is the arm that is supported by such organizations specially each time one of their operatives are captured where they act as the political arm of the US regime.

So it's very much a "bad government(s) vs. bad government(s)" constellation.
No, it's more like the Epstein Class versus a nation with vast amount of resources.

Moreover, when determining whether the US promotes democracy, it is important to take more into consideration than just references to "human rights" or "democracy". Standards need to be consistently upheld. Can they be applied selectively to further certain geopolitical interests?

A study of US foreign policy decisions vis-à-vis Egypt has noted the gap between rhetoric and policy, arguing that when a country or regime proves strategically useful, democracy can cease to be an important foreign policy concern.

The idea of democracy branded by the West that is massively promoted by the USA is an ideology that does not go without the USA interest in any country they attempt to export this ideology into. First they will begin with provisions of foreign aids USAID through their agent NGOs which is used to infiltrate the foreign governments and it's officials.

The Donald Trump regime talks much about democratic  outputs and justice it is promoting in around the world but at home in the USA there is much injustice he is using his position as POTUS to blind cover and obstructing for the interest of his Esptein class of pedophiles and human rights abuses and violence of various kinds.

If Trump believes very much in democracy, fairness and justice as it foundations, he should make an order for a transparent investigation of the case files.

The allegation by the  U.S. Congressman Scott Perry who, without providing evidence, said USAID had funneled money to various Islamist groups worldwide, including Boko Haram in Nigeria.. This coming from a high profile USA citizen that is by his position privy to some vital informations can not be a buffering allegation. Stead of the USA government to order for a thorough an investigation into this allegation, the USA Ambassador to Nigeria quick rejected the statement to be without evidence. But to every reasonable human we know that there can be no smoke without fire about Scott Perry's revelation.

I think Bitcoin can help in promoting speech by allowing  individual to receive and send money without asking permission from authority like bank or government.

Also, when making a Bitcoin transaction, you can add a comment to it, and it will be there forever. No one can delete or censor it. You can learn how to do it, I guess (I personally have no idea, because it has never occurred to me that this is the only way to say something to the world, but I can imagine that someone might find themselves in a situation like this).

Bitcoin transactions are irreversible and messages in Coinbase messages won't be deleted.

The Coinbase message in Bitcoin Genesis Block has been there since 3 January 2009.
