The last Dance in National colors 🐐

[Agbam]

So finally we’ve come to the end of this beautiful, exciting, entertaining, epic and almost mystical journey with Lionel Messi; the greatest player that ever lived. The most decorated player in history winning over 45 major trophies. He has scored 126 goals and provided 70 assists in 208 games for Argentina.

Fun Fact
Lionel Andrés Messi Cuccittini   who made his World Cup debut in 2006
He went on to wear the prestigious number 10 jersey
And Played his final match in Argentine colors in 2026
And the date was 6/10/26…… There is no better script than this.

Messi was destined for greatness and he went out in style with a goal and two assists. Assisting one of the oldest players in the team and one of the youngest players.
The last assist to Nico Paz was almost symbolic like passing the torch of greatness to the young lad; the way he curled that ball in was superb ( they didn’t use him at the World Cup).

Messi made football look so easy on the eyes, made jokes of defenders and goalkeepers….Made impossible situations into moments of pure bliss. The most beautiful football I witnessed was watching Messi play.

And now So sad We will no longer see him in Argentinian colors.
A lot of us who support Argentina today, do so because of Messi, I wonder if there will ever be any player again to make me love Argentina.
The  Asociación del Fútbol Argentino (Argentine Football Association) has tried once again to retire the number 10 jersey but according to FIFA rules they can’t but have promised to keep it aside for friendlies as a show of respect

Thank you Messi for the Joy you gave us Football fans …. The games you won and the tickets you won for us!!…

I wish Ronaldo settles with his National team, he also deserves a King’s farewell!.

Gracias por todo, Leo
The End of an Era 🇦🇷🐐

The End of an Era 🇦🇷🐐

The football world will really feel the absence of the greatest of all time, the comparison between him and Ronaldo is always what makes football gist so fun.

Messi leaving football would actually be like a barrel without anything inside, as the fun of watching football will reduce alot although the new generations that are taking over  are also competitive, but his absences will be felt alot.

The Argentine football association sign of respect also is admirable, it's a sign that they respect and appreciate one of their legend that won them what they ever wished. Happy international retirement GOAT, wish you all the best.

How does this affect Argentina overall? I think it's really the end of an era. Even though he has given so much for Argentina, there were definitely times when he received negative comments for losing international finals. That's definitely a big one, but of course, there's still the redemption arc.

He will for sure inspire others to continue the journey.

Yesterday was indeed one of the greatest days in international football, as the world joined hands to say a final farewell to Lionel Messi by his national Argentina football team, who have proven over the years to be a footballer worthy of emulation in his two decades of being active in football, and haven scored 126 goals in his 208 appearances and 69 international assists. And to be honestly speaking, the celebration yesterday was truly worth it, because Lionel Messi's influence and impact on international football and fans can never be overemphasized, including the fact that he led Argentina to winning the 2022 World Cup and alsp won Copa America twice in 2021 and 2024.

There is no doubt that Lionel Messi is truly great and one of the best football players in the world. It is absolutely true that Argentine fans will never forget Messi, it will be very difficult for fans to accept Messi departure from the team, but there is nothing they can do, we have to accept the reality. Messi was the main strength of Argentina, we all know very well, Lionel Messi has undoubtedly tried his best to take the Argentina team to a good position and to maintain and increase the team's honor.

There’s no doubt that we’re talking about one of the greatest of all time, alongside Maradona, Pelé and Cruyff and even Cristiano Ronaldo, but that last match against Benin was more of an insult to his career: a lacklustre team with no good players. Just imagine if he’d played his final match against Brazil, Germany or France  it would have been far better and more rewarding. In any case, what mattered in the end was paying tribute to the achievements of a legendary champion. Now I’m just waiting for him to finish his career at Newell’s Old Boys; that would be only right.

Football is a game of surprises were you think there wouldn’t be anyone to take over that space that is when you will likely see someone who is more skillful than Messi. Well, to me he has been a king of his country in terms of football, but yet as we think no one can take over his spots the more people who are more talented would revealed themselves. As I know, there were people who did better than him in the history of football but back then people were thinking they wouldn’t have a replacement but today we celebrate them for their inputs and hard work toward football making football more insightful and entertaining.
Messi, CR7 and others has made football more entertaining as we wait for more people who would take over their space unveil themselves.

The impact over Argentinian national team will be huge, because he was an essential element in the group. Messi wasn't solely a scorer, but a versatile player who played in different positions and contexts. Probably the most complete player in the history of soccer.

In the last world cup it was notorious the difference of Argentina playing with him and without him. With his participation on the plays and without. I believe the tendency is that Argentina loses performance on the following tournaments without Messi.

I think you made a mistake there, lol. But Lionel Messi isn't one of the best players, he is the best player in world football, and until he retires and someone out performs his record, he is going to still be the best player in world football and ever, others can only be best player at a time. I was talking to my friend and I told him that Messi is the closest thing to the second coming of Jesus Christ with the way he United the World through his football

[Chinesebaby]

Lionel Messi's contribution to Argentina goes far beyond statistics, as he is one player who played a crucail role in bringing the world cup back to Argentina in 2022 and also helped the national team to win the copa America almost twice, which was in 2021 and 2024. And that contributions alone is enough to have made the entire country Argentina host the grand farewell match that was played yesterday against Benin. So im very much happy for Lionel Messi for ending his football career with several records

[Shadiq]

He had to retire, he made the right decision at the right time, which is why he deserves praise. Messi fans can say that Messi was the best player in his retirement match, contributing to three of the three goals in the match. He even announced his retirement while still in top form and played his last match. I would have been even happier if Ángel Di María had been seen in this match. It would have been a pleasure for Argentina fans to see two of the best legends of the last generation of Argentina playing their retirement match together.

After Messi's respectful retirement, I now want to see Cristiano Ronaldo's respectful retirement. Although Ronaldo's relationship with his national team has already broken down. But I want them to forget that controversy and organize a respectful retirement for this legend. Ronaldo should end his career now, because his performance is already showing a decline.

[Zigabel]

The Argentine national side will miss him a lot while he still graces the MLS league before he finally retires from actively playing professional football on the pitch. we still have the opportunity at watching him play again but this time, not on the National squad, Dr. Lionel Andrés Messi Cuccittini  is one who i consider a god of football, and just like OP has correctly stated, History does has it that he's the most decorated player in the history of football. His achievements as a footballer so far is one which cannot be overly emphasized because it is just clearly stated in every football historic records you will get to find available on the Internet in recent times. A lot of persons got to love football and found it more interesting because of him in a way. He is very much deserving of the honors he's getting on his exit form the Argentine national team, and yes indeed it is yet an end of a really beautiful, interesting and Wild football era, I'm only hoping we get something close to this after now.

Hopefully Ronaldo settles every rift that is going on with him currently, he's also another iconic name in football that does deserves some honors just like we see with Messi, he's been sensation in his career and got some records too that has also graced this particular football era, i am also rooting to see him celebrated this much as he is deserving of one.

Argentina has very good talent. Lionel Messi won't be the only talent that will shine brightly from Argentina. This is motivation for every Argentine player that they can become like Messi if they are determined. Lionel Messi will forever be an inspiration to the current and upcoming generation.

Messi had to retire because no man can cheat nature. Age does not know honor, and it is no respecter of any man. Sadly, we have to leave beautiful moments behind because of age and death.

The last match between Argentina vs Benin billed a friendly match that ended with Argentina leading with 3:0 marks Messi 208 matches for his home country Argentina, in his football history and the end of his football era.

He hard the most exciting world cup experience since 2005-2006 when he made his debuts, Messi didn't stop there he also made alot of history and awards in his various clubs.

The entire football community are going to miss Messi great contribution to footballs and the excitement for his fans.
