First of all, I would like to define who a fool is so I don't get read out of context.
A fool is someone who is unwise in his decision or someone who lack the sense to make good judgment.
So what i mean by "bitcoin in the hands of a fool is worthless" is, there are people who have a very bad spending habits that literally squander any money they have on clubbing, partying, drugs.... on things that adds no value to their lives on a regular basis. The problem with this type of people is that even if you advise them they still would have a hard time changing their habits.
These kind of persons if they are given bitcoin as a gift, payment, inheritance, reward etc. They surely wouldn't think of holding for long term.
However for most of you who understand what I've been saying, it means you know someone or have heard of someone who can do or is already doing something like this. A very good example of people in this category is some of the Gen Z of today.
So my question is, how can we as a community or person help people like that to see the bright picture about bitcoin just the way we do?

Those kinda people aren’t investors and they don’t have patience, most of them like fast results and profit to continue funding their bad lifestyle, so they can’t actually Hodl for the long term because they’re not thinking long-term..

You can as well change your phrasing, Bitcoin in the hands of a fool isn’t inherently “worthless” rather it is worthless to that fool because he wouldn’t probably get much value from it.

The person needs to see a brighter future for himself first before we talk about any investment he’ll do for that future, you can’t make someone without proper financial discipline see the bright side of any investment if he doesn’t want to.

So the best you can do is help the person comes back to being normal if you can before you start talking about investment to them.

Well it’s obvious they don’t know the importance of what they have, they lack the right knowledge of bitcoin and that’s why they chose to spend it the way they are spending it. For such people you can only try to educate them on what bitcoin is and the potential in it. It will only take someone who truly understands the potential value of bitcoin not to spend it recklessly. You can’t certainly force them to invest, it’s their choice to decide for themselves what they will do with their money. The best you can do for such people is to educate them on the importance of investing in bitcoin for a long term gain.

We?? Grin

What more bright picture are you trying to show him? Just explain it to him in the right way .. if he’s interested, he will come back to seek guidance on how he can go about. Only then, you can now decide to put him through directly or point him to the right direction on how he can get started.

Holding for long term or not doesn’t concern you anyway.

Remember not to take up  the responsibility..

I don't think people need help on how to spend their coins.

It's a choice and decision we all make on our own. If someone was gifted Bitcoin and they have no idea what bitcoin can be or how valuable it would be to them, they will surely sell it and spend.

Only a few would understand how valuable it is. But before giving out bitcoin to anyone, you should first be sure to educate them on what bitcoin is. It's then a choice to spend it or hold it. But I think majority would sell at once.

A fool, according to the definition you gave, cannot invest in Bitcoin. The bad spending habit will prevent them from holding an accumulated coin over a period of time without touching the coin from time to time until there is nothing left in the portfolio.

....any money they have on clubbing, partying, drugs.... on things that adds no value to their lives on a regular basis.
Not everyone who spends heavily on alcohol, clubbing, drugs, and gambling has bad financial habits. To some, it is what keeps them going with their daily lives. Some of them have investments in different places. They make profitable financial decisions when in their right senses. The biggest motivation for a long-term investment plan is not a financial habit. It is consistent, healthy income. A person making 50M a month, even with bad financial habit he, is capable of investing 500k continuously for a long period of time. While most people are finding the means to earn that 500k monthly.

Financial discipline is needed for anyone to succeed in business, irrespective of the business that one is into . So when it comes to Bitcoin investments the most important factor one has to look out for is the financial discipline, because it also applies here. For someone who is not financial discipline it will be very difficult for such a person to fully appreciate Bitcoin and maximage profit.

Bitcoin investment is one that has to do with long time, so patience is needed because anyone who is not patience will pull out his Bitcoin portfolio and sell at anytime. Because such a person lacks financial discipline which within the context of this thread is considered as a fool. Such people will only be concerned about short term plan rather than thinking about long term holding.

You last paragraph males sense to me, someone who have that type of spending habits is already addicted to something aside from having that bad financial capability, when you see someone spending more than they earning it means they don't have financial plans for the future and that is going to create a lot of financial crisis for them in the future.

How do we help such people if they are close to us in real life, first allow them to work for the money they are spending, and once that is accomplished, they will have a sense of responsibility.

Gen Z era is like a syndrome that needs to be cured through life realities, since those in this set have been over-pampered by their parents who are in our own generation

So my question is, how can we as a community or person help people like that to see the bright picture about bitcoin just the way we do?
Bitcoin should be a private property not a public property, we can’t control anything since the owner will have his/her seed phrase with them, they can spend anytime they wish, so what can the community really do about it?
The only easy thing I think the community an do for such person is to advice them, educate them, tell them the important of Bitcoin and the reason they should Bitcoin to plan for their future; if they accept and give it a thought, they can change and make good us of their Bitcoin instead is spending without control.
