Alright so maybe it's the laziness speaking but I usually visit some threads on my spare time
That I find educative
So it got me thinking
Why not open a thread where people can share something many won't know about Bitcoin or they learnt about recently.

Yeah it could be abuse hence the self moderated. Sorry in advance if I do delete your post
Doesn't mean I'm on the right but well the OP  Grin

So I will start with something simple
Sigh nothing is coming to head
Ooh we don't actually actually store our bitcoin in our wallets. And the network don't know you a person.

For me it was surprising that the (key)word "Bitcoin" was never mentioned in mainstream media before the end of 2010. "Bitcoin" was first mentioned in TV on December 22, 2010. Almost two years in full info blockade.

Learning about different wallets using different entropy when generating seed phrases was the last big eye opener for me.

I reckon that many if not the most that, just like myself, learnt it after the recent Coldcard exploit and as a hardware wallet user I was forced to learn a bit about it.

Was pretty mind blowing honestly.

Transaction fees aren’t based on how much BTC we send, but they depend partly on how many UTXOs we spend(which means sending 1 btc using 1 utxo might be cheaper than sending 0.1 btc using 10 utxos). It took sometime for me to understand this Smiley

‎I have learned alot of things about Bitcoin,  which I am ready to still learn more,  and currently still learning more to improve my intelligence.
‎I have learnt to protect my private key with all I have, been careful while doing transactions to avoid sending to a wrong wallet address. Knowing fully well that Bitcoin is volatile and risky, and understanding how Bitcoin works is my priority.

San thing applies here, I've noticed and learnt of recent that the transaction fees to send bitcoin but generally ebb be lower than the cis to send out usdt because over the time, I always prefer converting my bitcoin to usdt so I can send with a fixed txn fee but I just discovered bitcoin fees are cheaper if everything is ok.

What I find interesting is that, before there's a lot of words coming to bitcoin about it as a bad thing.
But as soon as the shift has came from the government and institutions, it's no longer seen as bad as it was in the past.
You know, dark web marketplace, criminals, illegal. That's what they think it is mostly used in the past.
And it has all changed gradually with the massive adoption that we've seen. We might not like what these institutions are for.
Yet, we can agree that they have majorly helped to change that bad impression that bitcoin has got for the past years.
